Chris, Greg, and their entire crew did a fantastic job. The work was done quickly and to a very high level.

We had the pleasure of working with Chris and Greg recently and highly recommend them. Our project involved a drainage issue in our backyard that required regrading a section of the yard and installing some piping and a drywell to help move the water away from the area. Chris came out in the winter to take a look at the project and gave us a quote for the proposed work. We got a couple of other quotes but felt that Earth Stone and Water had a solid plan and reasonable price point. They gave us a heads up about a week in advance that we were coming up on the schedule and then Greg, who managed the project, met with me the first day to run through the game plan. I note this because he was flexible enough to meet me early in the morning before work, and also because he took the time to explain what he was thinking and included my feedback. This was a project where 5 people would have 5 different answers and Greg was able to draw on his experience to come up with a great plan by collaborating with me and my description of the issue. Once he had a grasp of the situation, he left to get the equipment he needed for the day and I headed to work. Here is where Earth Stone and Water began to differentiate themselves. Greg contacted me a couple of times that day and the next to update me on the process, sometimes to ask a question or other times just sending a picture or two so I could follow the progress. For those of you who have worked with a landscaper or contractor before, you know how critical communication is and how rare it is to find in the industry. The project lasted about a week and that trend continued throughout, via email, texts, and calls. The site was always left clean at the end of the day and I always felt in the loop on where things stood. Another small thing worth noting was the project crossed over Memorial Day weekend and we were having a BBQ. Greg and his crew knew we have little kids and they put caution tape up all around the area to keep the kids at bay. It is these kind of details that show how Chris and Greg are trying to build a different kind of company and their customer service meant a lot to us. The day they were finishing up I met with Greg and he gave me full instructions on how to cultivate the sod they had laid out and answered all my remaining questions. In conclusion, if you want to work with friendly, experienced professionals who know how to manage a project and communicate with their customers, Earth Stone and Water should be your first call.

They were able to sneak us in the schedule last minute prior to our driveway being repaved. Very impressed with the work, they transformed our front entrance into a beautiful and inviting dublin cobblestone walkway and landing. They also set the pitch of the walkway that the asphalt company agreed and matched so water would run away from the house. Earth Stone & Water transplanted a bush to another part of the property and reset the irrigation heads that were displaced due to walkway work. Overall I highly recommend this company and would not hesitate to use them again!

It worked out pretty good.  He is nice.  There are certain outstanding items that he needs to come back and do for us but otherwise it worked out pretty good.  He is more on the expensive side I would say.  It was good.  He had knowledge about what he was doing.  He did a thorough job.

They do good quality work and are good to work with. They're busy so they weren't always easy to get a hold of.

We've used Earth Stone and Water for two jobs and they also consulted with us on another issue. They were fantastic all three times and we especially appreciate them because they were so accommodating during several unusual landscaping situations. They also did landscaping for one of our neighbors this summer and it looks fantastic. Like many landscapers and contractors, they can be hard to reach by phone, but e-mail has always worked for me.

They did a great cleaning, especially on the north side of the house where there was a lot of mold.

I was very disappointed with the service I received. I was looking for a landscaping company to provide us with annual maintenance services but we had a problem with our lawn to solve first. I selected Earth Stone and Water because their price was competitive for reseeding our lawn. But after our initial contact, they were slow to respond to phone calls, the work began later than expected and past the optimal planting season. The loam they used was full of stones. When I was watering, much of the seed was washed away. Rather than returning to fix the problem, Chris suggested I purchase more seed to broadcast. In the end, all we got was crabgrass. I called them again this fall to give them an opportunity to follow through on the work. Chris stopped by and suggested a second approach but never gave me a new estimate. Overall, they were unprofessional and didn't seem to take any pride in their work.

Finally, an absolutely positive experience dealing with a landscaping company. We haven't had much luck in this area which explains the 18 year neglect of this part of our property and I am happy to be able to say nothing but positive things about our dealings with Earth, Stone and Water. Dealing with both Gregg and Chris proved to be very easy and pleasant and the project went along seamlessly from my first phone call to them through to the completion of the job. In fact, we are so happy with the outcome that they were barely out of our driveway before I signed on to Angies List to write this review. Another fact is that things went so well that we look forward to working with them in the near future to plan and schedule the second phase of this project which will include things such as flower and shrub plantings, veggie garden, herb garden, stonework if/where needed.
Chris and Gregg are both hands-on business owners and along with their employees they delivered on everything that we had discussed in our initial conversations. Gregg had come out to survey the job approx. 2 weeks prior to the start of the project; Chris was here with the other guys the day of the project. They were neat, fast, careful, considerate; Chris took nothing for granted and made sure he consulted with us before taking action on any unexpected issue which arose. Prior to the job they were in contact whenever it was required.
This business deserves all the high marks it has been given on Angies List. These guys work hard not only at running their business, but more importanly, at meeting their customer's expectations and then some. This is our first experience with them and although it's only the beginning of Autumn, we're already looking forward to next Spring and job #2 with Earth Stone and Water.

Chris and Greg promptly responded to my inquiry. They came out and gave me an estimate and we agreed to the work. They did a full clean up of the yard, planted grass, and now have also pulled up a number of bushes and shrubs that I did not like. They did a really nice job edging the planting beds and I was amazed at how there was no debris, dirt or mess aftering pulling out the shrubs. Very professional operation and very easy to deal with.

Greg and Chris, the co-owners, are hardworking, talented and polite. I had contacted them 10 mos. earlier in Nov. 2010 but did not use them at that time due to budget issues. When I called them in Sept. they honored the old quote from 10 mos. ago. Their quote was very competitive and 25% lower than the others. I checked their references and drove around on a Sunday afternoon to see their landscaping and stonework. Their references simply raved about them and sent me detailed emails -- I never had a company's references rave to that extent and now I can see why. Chris was not around since he mostly does landscaping, but Greg and his hardworking crew were here for 2 days. They noticed our front concrete steps were "slumping" so they jacked them up with concrete pillars. They go above and beyond what is required to do the job correctly. They had to truck in several yards of loam and topsoil to reseed 1/3 of our front lawn and even dug up and replaced the old stepping stone pavers leading to the driveway (not part of the job). They provide excellent customer service and when I requested concrete sand instead of stone dust as recommended on the Ideal Paver website they went along with it. They used Ideal pavers at my request in a herringbone design for the walkway and it simply looks fantastic. They did recommend pyrometric (sp) sand instead of regular sand which added approximately $150 to the cost but it was worth it. They came on time, stayed late and did an excellent job with clean up. I will probably use them to redo my front steps and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who needs stonework, masonry or landscaping.

We were pleased with it. They worked within our budget. They came out with a product that met our needs. They were responsive about questions that we had about maintaining it. They came on time and on the right day. They even did a couple of little extra things. This was the first time we've used them.

We contacted Greg and Chris in March via their website http://www.earthstoneandwater.com. A couple days later they came out and talked to us about the project and we had a quote from them 2 days later. Once we paid our deposit, they put us in their busy spring schedule and we were very pleased that they were able to fit us in at the beginning of May. The project took 4 days: 1 day of demolition, 1 day of paver prep and fixes to existing entryways to assure proper drainage, 1 day laying lavers and then a few hours of spring clean-up including digging new beds, cobblestone edging and mulch. It went way faster than I could have every hoped despite running into some surprises like having to pour a new section of foundation around our cellar entrance and finding and extra pad of concrete under the concrete patio in one section. It looks amazing, drains properly and the guys worked so hard to make it all come together. They totally know their stuff; professional all the way. I plan on hiring them again for future landscaping/hardscaping projects.
