DRC Services

Dennis Campbell came out and spent approximately 90 minutes inspecting our basement, the EZ Breathe system, and making recommendations to repair the system installation and properly seal our foundation. Dennis was very responsive throughout the estimate process. We paid $150 for the estimate, which we were told would be taken off our bill if we opted to use DRC Services to do the repair work. Dennis texted us a picture of his completed estimate (a bit odd - usually contractors email a document that's printable and can be signed). He wrote that he asks for 1/2 payment down initially and 1/2 payment at completion of the job. He said we could go ahead and mail payment and he would then set a date for the work. Paying for 1/2 of a job without a signed contract or even a date set for work is not something we felt comfortable doing. We emailed him and explained we'd like to sign a contract and set a mutually agreeable date and we'd be happy to offer 1/2 payment then. (We further acknowledged that we were only looking out for our interests as homeowners in the same manner as Dennis was looking to cover his interests as an independent contractor). We asked him to let us know what he thought and emphasized that we'd like to use him for the job. We never heard from him again. We called and texted in addition to email but Dennis ignored all contact. We were surprised and disappointed by his lack of professionalism. We expressed our displeasure to the EZ Breathe company as well since he is listed as one of their installers. Unless you feel comfortable paying for a job in advance of any work done and without any contract signed, we'd advise you NOT to use this company.
