A/c quit working during a hot spell with a very pregnant wife home. Lamco offered to come out that day, bit said it would be much cheaper the following day (Monday). The system is original to the house (~24 years) so I imagined the worst. They took one look at the unit and mentioned that the old ones run forever. He replaced a couple of capacitors and a chewed through wire, showed me how to clean the coils, and was on his way. Very helpful and I did not feel that lamco took advantage of my lack of knowledge about air conditioning.

There were 3 distinct tasks to be completed. It works beautifully, it come on every time there is a power outage within a few seconds, it comes on every Tuesday at 4:00 to lubricate itself, it just does what it is supposed to do.

Work has always started and finished on time and on budget. The installers/ repair guys have always been able to explain the reason they recommend doing things a certain way which gives me confidence they know what they are doing. The latest work was an issue at my parents where one heat zone seemed to always be on. They quickly figured out it was a valve and had it fixed right away.

I just purchased a home and wanted to be sure that the heating and air conditioning 2 zone system was working properly and tuned up. They were very friendly when I called and made the appointment. The date was set as I did not need emergency 24 hour response. They arrived on time. I explained what my concerns were and he went right to work. Lamco checked the furnace, cleaned some dust from the inside changed the filter. They went outside and removed the panel for the AC and checked the connections and the components. They tested each zone individually and together. The thermostats were tested, the temperature at the registers were tested both for AC and heat. They explained how the dampers for the HVAC could be adjusted as needed to provide less heat or cooling in some vents to balance things out. The condensation pump was checked. After some things were explained to me and my many questions were answered they explained everything they did and how much it cost and provided phone numbers to call for future check ups or for emergencies if needed. They asked if I had any other questions and recommended that I call seasonally for a check up to make sure everything is working the way it should. They left and I was very happy with the service.

I think they are very knowledgeable about heating and air conditioning units. Also, their pricing is a little high, but they are always on time.

The Lamco representative responded immediately to our request for a quote and arrived to survey our house within a day. He was very knowledgeable and professional in his approach to finding out what we wanted to accomplish and in quoting a customized system to meet our particular needs. We received the quotation within a week and after a follow-up conversation to discuss the various options, we authorized the installation. While awaiting the receipt of the hardware, Lamco personnel scheduled a visit to being the preliminary work of installing the air ducts. The majority of the duct work was completed in one day. All of the ducts were completely wrapped in insulation and sound absorbing material and securely fastened to the rafters and floor boards in the attic. All of the vents appear to be of high quality fit and finish. The remaining equipment install occurred about a week later. The attic mounted blower unit was suspended with sound/vibration absorbing mounting feet. The coolant lines were insulated and run down the side of the house to the condenser/compressor and then covered with an aesthetically pleasing white vinyl cover.

Being an engineer by profession, I believe I can discern quality work from shoddy work. Every part of this installation was done in a thorough, high quality manner with a great deal of attention to detail. All condensate drain lines were sloped correctly and fastened securely. The ducts were oversized to minimize the air velocity and air flow noise. There were many opportunites for the installer to have taken short-cuts in the interest of saving time and cost but they did not do so. At the conclusion of the installation the installer went through the operation of the system with us and we were impressed that we could barely hear the system in operation.

We were very pleased with their service. We had a number of quotes and they were able to incorporate what turned out to be three built in heaters for which we could not get others to come and fix. Their overall quote was actually very competitive. They were very professional and responsive. They always arrived at the time they said they would including the guy who gave the quote. I have recommended them to a friend as well.
