The house my wife and I own is our fourth. We are experienced house designers and remodellers, and we have worked with many contractors?the good, the bad, and the ugly. We used Kevin Farmer twice to do projects on our previous home and once on our current home that we have extensively remodeled. Kevin is not the only good contractor we have met, but there is none better. His breadth and depth of experience is extensive. There seems to be few construction issues he hasn't met and dealt with, and when he does meet a new challenge, such as installing parts of our radiant heat system, he brings his wealth of past experience to bear, for example by manufacturing an extension screwdriver bit to ease the installation of 4000 screws. Kevin has a small team he has worked with him for decades, and they work together as a well oiled, efficient machine and get a ton of work done every day. Kevin does not prefer e-mail, but he is an excellent communicator with good language skills who always returns phone calls and always does what he says he will do when he says he will do it. If his plans need to change, for example because of changes in weather, he will always call to let you know. He asks questions, listens to answers, and he is happy to have his customers or prospective customers ask questions and discuss options. He thinks intelligently and prepares for each day's work by communicating with subcontractors and coworkers and by bringing the tools and materials he will need. On top of all that Kevin's pricing is eminently fair, possibly even inexpensive (don't tell him I said so), and he is happy to reveal his considerations and calculations to let you know how he arrived at his pricing. Kevin is completely honest, straightforward, and trustworthy.

Kevin had worked with me on a past renovation. When I was ready to do this new job I called him, and we agreed to meet at my home. He showed up on time as he always had. Kevin, my wife, and I discussed the job interactively. Kevin as good at listening as he is a recommending solutions and methods. A few days later he showed up with a crew, and the work was completed in two days. Kevin and his crew cleaned up and left the site in ready condition for plastering, painting, trim work, and flooring. Working with Kevin is a pleasure. He is professional, personable, punctual, and reliable. He does what he says he will do, and he does it when he says he will do it. You can trust him.
