AHS (American Home Shield) assigned DA Silva to my service request. It's been four weeks and still it is impossible to reach him, he never calls back and he is never reachable, not for me but also for ahs as well

AHS (American Home Shield) assigned DA Silva to my case. Day 1 - didn't hear from him. Day 2 (morning) I called and left detailed message. Day 3 - (morning) I called and left detailed message. Then I went to the store, bought PVC fittings and fixed it myself. I originally submitted a claim to AHS because I didn't have time to fix it. This was an EASY fix and would have been easy money. This guy couldn't even be bothered to call back. I would never recommend him.

This was the plumber I was assigned by American Home Shield - the home warranty company. He came out promptly and said the pump needed replacement. All attempts at contact after that were in vain. No voice mails returned, basically radio silence. It looks like he did the minimum he would have to do to "earn" the $75.00 fee that AHS would give him and then moved on. I was very patient due to the pandemic, but when I finally called AHS, they said the service call had been cancelled by the contractor. I would not recommend this company for any work where you actually need him to show up and do something.

Water Heater Service
Dave was great replacing our hot water heater. Always prompt and got the job done quick for a very fair price. Would absolutely go with D A Silva plumbing again and recommend to anyone else.

I first met Dave through an installation of a Gas Stove through Lowe's and he was great! Very professional and friendly. We couldn't get a card from him then because he was on the job for Lowes but as fate would have it, he was the plumber that American Home Shield assigned us. This was the second time he's come out recently - previously was for different leaks in the house - and despite the call being later in the evening, he came right out and was there within the hour. He's friendly, professional and does great work at reasonable prices. I'd recommend him any day.

Plumbing, Water Heater Service
Dave was the plumber contracted by my home warranty company, and he responded quickly, squeezed me in early (had 24 hours to contact me and came within the first 6), and was very professional. He told me all of my options, let me choose, handled the insurance paperwork, and picked up the equipment. The book time for a job like this is 3-4 hours, and he and his team handled it in about 2. They were very respectful of my property, told me what and how to move things so the heater could be placed successfully, provided some education on my very old piping/shut-offs, and made recommendations for future improvements without any pressure. Before leaving, they made sure the heater was working and even put the portion of my fence that had to come down back up. Could not be happier with the service.

Dave of D A Silva Plumbing was the contractor that was assigned to my home by the Home Shield Warranty that came with my home. He waited until the very last minute to contact me, at 8:30 PM, I have an 8 month old he woke her and myself up. He was not even nice at all when he called either. I told him I would call him the next day which I did and he was very rude and unprofessional on the phone. He sounded truly bothered by my call to fix the toilet. Maybe because it was through Home Shield I don't really know the reasoning for his attitude problem on the phone but needless to say we figured it out ourselves and would never hire him. He was that rude! I also contacted Home Shield and let them know they need to assign better contractors and do their research on these guys, the cheapest is usually not the best!

Install went great using a toilet with pump and garage type sink. Lines run very cleanly and routed so I can build a wall around it later.

Dave Silva Plumbing does not stand by his work. Shortly after he finished installing a shower with a diverter so we could switch between the show head and the shower wand the shower wand stopped working. Each time we used the wand the shower made a loud noise, pipes rattled and the water flow stopped. We call the contractor (Steve) who told us to call the plumber. after about a month of phone tag he set up an appointment to come look at it. My wife took the morning off. 15 minutes prior to the appointment time he called left a message "sorry can't make it" . No apology, reason why, no followup. I called him and told him how disappointed I was that they wasted my wife's time. The plumber called my wife back telling me how he did not appreciate my tone. Wow!!! Oh and when he installed the sink handle it came loose as well and wiggles every time we use the faucet. The plumbers craftsmanship and professionalism is poor and he clearly does not stand by his work as he will only come by an fix it if we pay him again for it. We called two other plumbers and they told us they stand by their work whether a defect part or workmanship they will make it right without charge. Wow.
We are very disappointed in the contractor as he is ultimately responsible for ensuring what we paid for actually works as expected. We asked him to make this right but as of today that has not happened. We would not recommend this contractor as he apparently does not stand by his work and the work of his people.

Plumbing, Water Heater Service
We had a lot of little things to do and some bigger items. David came and worked with our schedule (as we were doing renovations) and always with a great smile and warmth. He does exceptional work. Just take a look at the joints when his done, the way the routes the pips etc. You can see the thought, and the pride he put into the job. And as such he warranties his work. He takes care of your home as he works, that is always top of mind, and leaves the place clean when he is done. From here on, he's my plumber. He should be yours.

They had the big deal for this service in the area and it was around $89 or $99. They're great and I would highly recommend them. They have great technicians. They were prompt and courteous. They explained everything very well. The technicians were excellent. I will use them again in the future.

9/20/11 -- $200 (parts and labor) Mr. Silva again arrived on time and worked efficiently taking apart and cleaning my gas furnace and replacing the six gaskets on the pipes feeding my 2-zone forced hot water heating system. After checking the operation of the thermostats, he cleaned up his work area. He then recommended (but did not pressure me to do so) replacing the expansion tank (which was rusting out at the bottom anyway) with a slightly larger tank and cleaning the fill valve (which he also noted was improperly located). I asked him the price to accomplish those new tasks and made an appointment to do so.
10/17/11 -- $260 (parts and labor) Mr. Silva arrived on time and worked efficiently to replace the expansion tank on my gas furnace and, rather than cleaning the fill valve, he installed a new fill valve in its proper location. Despite the extra labor involved, he kept the agreed-upon price. He was, as usual, courteous and cleaned up after he finished.
10/27/11 to 11/17/11 -- $245 (parts and labor) After my 30 year old Maytag gas dryer bit the dust, Sears told me I would have to provide my own plumber to disconnect it and to connect the new Kenmore Elite dryer. So, naturally, I called Mr. Silva who disconnected the old dryer at our mutual convenience (since it wasn’t working anyway) and gave me some very helpful tips on protecting my countertops and doorways – it was a tight squeeze from the kitchen to the laundry room -- in anticipation of Sears removing/delivering the new dryer (and the matching washer which was 31 years old). Unlike Sears, which rescheduled on short notice and gave me a hard time throughout the process, Mr. Silva came each time as promised, did more work than anticipated, and remained courteous (in spite of my near hysterical state trying to cope with Sears). I will have no hesitation whatsoever in using Mr. Silva’s services again or in giving him the highest recommendation.
