Worst experience with any trade ever. They were supposed to pull a building permit and did not until I checked. The shingles they put on are not even and my new roof now leaks.

They responded within a day.  Russell came over within an hour of the first contact to price the job and the roofing crew was there that afternoon to remove the ice and snow from my roof.  With all the demands on roofers this winter, I was very impressed with their prompt response.
I had some very thick ice dams that they very carefully removed.  They were also very careful to clean up where the snow and ice fell on my driveway and walkway.

Do not hire this company.  They do not stand by their bad work...
Turnpike General contracting and Olympic contractors / Olympic painting,
siding, and roofing is a fraud based company.  They will send a sales
rep in an Olympic car ( Mike Connors).  He will provide the "low cost
quote", they will not pull building permits.  They employ criminals and
illegal's the work for nothing, and do not install the product properly.
In our example hardiplank fiber cement siding.  Ours was done
completely wrong and verified by the hardiplank factory rep Marcelo.  We
have asked Olympic and the "owner" George Vasiliades to address this
over the last 2 years, and he ignores the problem.  We have had to go to
small claims court to win a judgment ( which we did over 9 months ago)
and now they are saying that no company really exists....  We had the
town constable in Topsfield MA deliver the "Notice to serve in NH
district court and they deny the company is there, although there are 5
big vans with the marketing and phone numbers all over them...  If you
call them at that number and address to set up a quote then they are in
business.  If you try to reclaim or get them to do the job correctly
they are not in business.   Fraud!
Run from this company.....

Mike showed up promptly to give me a quote for the job. His crew appeared on the scheduled date and got the reshingling job done in one day. They came back the next day to finish the clean-up. The workers were polite and very hard-working. I was especially pleased with how well they cleaned up the area around the house. I have not found one roofing nail. We had hired Olympic three years ago to reshingle a barn roof, and that job was very well done. It has been just one month since the house roof was done, but it looks like a very neat and solid job.

After the siding job was complete, months later we noticed caulk leaking through all seams in the siding. 
The house is covered with white patches now where the siding seams
meet.  We had a representative of the manufacturer, James Hardie Siding,
come out to assess if the work was done properly and if the siding
would be covered under the 50 year warranty.  The Hardi rep. did a
complete audit and noticed several major installation problems and told
us that if we do not have the issues fixed, the cement siding will not
be covered under warranty since it was installed improperly.  We
contacted Olympic to let them know the problems.  After months of phone
calls and the Olympic business manager, Susan Tierney, promising us the
owner, George Vasiliades, would address our problems, we were told that
the owner refused to have any more contact with us.

Great experience with the roofing! crew was clean and courteous, all debris cleaned daily. only found 2 or 3 nails in the yard since the job was done! They did such a great job that when it was time to paint we called them back...that's where the trouble began.

Good things: The crew showed up promptly and performed the work in the expected timeframe. They were polite and as far as we can tell did a good quality job. They cleaned up reasonably well but not as well as I would have liked. The foreman was helpful answering questions, and volunteered to plug up a few holes he found in our chimney mortar without extra cost. Not so good things: I figured out myself that they had forgotten to re-flash the chimney in the exact place where we had previously pointed out a leak - to their credit they had the crew out the next morning to fix it. They were supposed to put in soffit vents and do some gutter work - they promised to show up on a certain date but never did - they never called and they did not return my calls - finally we just did not pay them for this work but it was sort of annoying. In the week after they did the job I collected 75 nails on my front and back lawns (I started counting with my 4 year old for fun - never realized the count would get so high). Having a 4 year old makes that a sort of dangerous situation - I had to tell her not to run in the yard for awhile. I'm sure there are companies out there that would provide a better experience at a similar price.

initial walk through went as i had imagined, there were notes taken about specific areas that were to be addressed, rot, holes etc.... Proposal came and all seemed well. then the work began and the lack of expertise on behalf of the crew began to show....they broke windows, left debris, removed flashing and did not replace, did not prime surfaces (raw wood left exposed to elements), painted in the rain and the dark, did not replace areas addressed during initial walk through, made quotes then came back stating "we made a mistake". They also made a multitude of "mis-cuts" on thresholds and window sills...i actually had to give them materials and offer to draw the cuts for them. After speaking with the Project Manager, the complaints of shoddy workmanship were basically blamed on us...we apparently did not convey our needs properly...Company demanded payment for their mistakes and i said NO...We did finally settle On the original quote and the balance of the contract..although the company DID NOT correct it's mistakes, and i will hire another company to correct their mistakes. All in all, a horrific experience...we will never use this company again and the only recommendation we can make is "Stay Away". If interested in pictures, i do have them..

The gentleman who came by to give the estimate was very personable and the estimate was pretty competitive. I guess we chose not to go with them because we went with a more local person. We try to keep our business as close to home as possible. The guy talked a lot about stuff that had nothing to do with roofing and we kind of couldn?t get rid of him but, other than that, he was fine.

The crew that did the roofing was professional, polite, and worked well together. The job foremen explained each step to me and answered all of my questions. He also made sure my property was protected from roofing material being removed. Tarps were placed on the ground to capture the debris, including roofing nails (I haven?t found one sense they left the job site).
