We were VERY pleased with the work by Reliable. They were courteous, responsive, on time, and highly skilled. They reorganized the wiring to make a much neater area and eliminate unnecessary components that had been left by previous installers. They were very professional in their approach, explained what they did, and cleaned up thoroughly. Also, in the winter weather they were careful not to drain the old tank in our driveway (which would have been the natural place to drain it), to prevent our driveway from getting icy. We will definitely call them again, if we need any service they provide.

I was desperate, since my well was not working, so I was left with no water and I have a house full of kids!! I had called several Well & Pump business's and they promised to send someone, leaving me hanging!! I went on Angies list confidently knowing it would hopefully refer me to credible business's! I had my son call Tom and he explained he was out straight but would coach us over the phone to troubleshoot the system to see if it was going to be an easy fix. Thru the course of the day, and repeated phone conversations, he helped us to resolve the problem and saved us 1000's of dollars in having someone come out. I respect any business owner that would go to such extremes to help someone, and would encourage anyone to call him to do work!! Honesty, and goodness in a business person is far and few between these day's so someone who has these quality's deserves AAAAAAAAAA+++++++++++. Thank you Tom for all your help and support, and hoping all your honest efforts get played forward and you have a great, happy, healthy, life!!

I called Tom this morning, because we have recently been having an issue with the water pressure dropping to zero for 5-30 seconds before the pump comes on.  He stopped by, as promised, at the end of the day and quickly ascertained that the pressure tank was fine but that we had a worn-out pressure sensor and switch.  The tank was replaced 16 years ago but the sensor and switch were not replaced and are 50 years old!  Tom and his helper finished the work in under an hour.  He clearly explained what they had done and charged a very reasonable price.

A few years back I had lightening hit my well head and burn out my motor. After the repair, the local well company failed to seat the well cover properly and I noticed that some of the wiring was damaged.  I had no confidence in them and sought an alternative.
Tom replaced the well-head and installed new wiring and even had my water tested. He was efficient, focussed and delivered. He is the consumate professional. Getting the job right is more important than anything else. I was very impressed.  I taped his card to my water tank.
It was no surprise that he was the first person I called when I saw air in all my water supply and saw that my water pressure was dropping. I researched possible causes and could not figure this one out. Tom accurately diagnosed the problem as a line break from my well to my house. He needed to dig through the concrete floor, dig out gravel and concrete, cut out the leaking pipe and replace it.  He improved on the way the pipe feed into the basement was routed. He even fixed a leaking pressure value. He improved on everything he touched. He exceeded my expectations. Back to a working water supply !!! From the time he set foot on my property until the time he left, he was focussed on the leak.  A wrong diagnosis would have cost me thousands in new pumps, well castings, etc. and left me with the same problem.
Tom is an expert in what he does. He is Phi Beta Kappa on wells. He is upbeat, positive, efficient and skilled. He did a great job (again) and I would recommend him without reservation.

Tom was terrific. Professional and very able to quickly diagnose the problem and fix it. He was prompt and very friendly and went out of his way to make sure that I understood the system and was able to use it properly. I will be using his services both fall and spring to keep my well and sprinkler system up and running. He is a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend him.

Tom of Reliable Well and Pump came out and tested the water with a very comprehensive, thorough test. He took the time to explain how the well, pump and filter system should work. Our system was very old and not functioning. The quote was high but we had hard water with lots of iron and manganese also with arsenic coming in a bit over the safe limit. Tom explained the test results and the proper filtration that would solve the problems. We quickly scheduled a date and the installation was done professionally. Now, our water is clear and clean with no coloration or nasty smell. I would highly recommend Tom and Reliable Well and Pump.

25 years ago, our well began flooding the back yard. I dug it up by hand and replaced the broken coupling myself. In doing so, I injured my back and wound up having surgery some years later. So my heart sank when I saw the pool of water spreading around the well head yesterday.
Even if I were not 25 years older, i would not have attempted to fix this myself again. Instead, my wife and I turned to Angie's list. st. We selected Reliable Well and Pump, since they were local and had many good reviews. My wife made the initial call. She spoke with Tom, the owner / operator, who was pleasant and reassuring to deal with on the phone. He offered to come by the next day to size up the job, saying that he would call between 9 and 10 to let us know when he would be arriving.
Tom called the next mormng at 9:30, and said that he would be by about 11 am to look at the problem. He informed me that there had been a delay in a job that he had scheduled for that afternoon, and a backhoe would be available, should we choose to do any digging that day.
Tom arrived at 10 past 11. We went out and inspected the well head. I described the wells history, and he said it was clear that it had broken again in the same area. I agreed, and asked him when he could do the work. He said that he would have it done the same day.
He left, and returned with the backhoe in about an hour. It was a compact unit on caterpillar treads, so it did very little damage to the lawn. even though the ground was soft. He said that he would have it dug out in about an hour. An hour later, we were looking at the pipe that had split right next to the coupling that I had replaced all those years ago.
Tom pointed out how tree roots had infiltrated around the pipe, indicating that it had begun leaking quite some time ago. He installed a new coupling and spliced the broken pipe. There were no leaks when we restored power to the pump. He had the hole filled in and the area graded about half an hour later. Total elapsed time, about 4 hours, including the hour it took to fetch the backhoe.
The price was reasonable, I felt, particularly given the fast service.
When we were inspecting thewell head just after he arrived, I asked Tom if there was any advantage to considering replacing the well pump at the same time as doing the repair, since it was about 40 years old. He agreed that that was elderly indeed for this type of pump, and that he could do so if we chose, but that there was no particular advantage to doing it at the same time. Further, he said that there was no real reason to replace it before it failed if it were functioning acceptably, since he could have a new pump installed within 24 hours of being called (he offers 24 hour emergency service).  I give Tom high marks for being so forthcoming, when he could as easily have had the extra business right away. When the time finally does comes to replace the pump, we will definitely be calling Tom.

I found Reliable through Angies List and spoke to Tom who was very professional, courteous (and didn't make me feel like I was asking dumb questions!). He promptly made himself available to diagnose the issue and in speaking with him I realized how knowledgeable he is about wells, irrigation systems, water supply and the associated costs for home-owners.
He was able to diagnose the problem very quickly and it ended up being a very inexpensive fix. I would have never known how to address it without his help. We have now requested him to service our well and irrigation system moving forward and will no longer use the company we originally worked with. Thank you Tom!

I could not be happier with the level of service, attention and professionalism that Tom showed.  He was here when he said he would be, worked quickly and efficiently, and explained all the aspects of what he was doing in a manner that made sense to someone who wasn't familar with it.  I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs work done with wells, pumps and irrigation systems.

We already had an irrigation system that used town water, but were fed-up with regular garden watering restrictions, and also didn't like wasting purified water on the lawn and plants.  We decided to have a well drilled for irrigation.
After struggling to get any response from some well drilling companies, or detailed estimates from others, Reliable Well and Pump was a breath of fresh air.  As soon as I spoke to Tom on the telephone, I could tell this was someone who was professional and who would provide me with the information I needed to embark on this project.  Tom initially told me on the telephone that the well could cost anywhere  upwards of $8,000.  After failing to scare me off with this quick estimate, he visited my property and we discussed the well drilling/installation process in detail, the drilling site and location for the pump controls and tank.
I got a detailed, written estimate very quickly by email and decided to go ahead with the work.  Drilling went twice as deep as anticipated (625'), but every home could be different - less or more.  However, I knew the cost of every additional 100' that had to be drilled on top of the original estimate, so there were no surprises.  There was less mess created by the drilling than I expected too, despite the drilling rig being parked on my front lawn for several days.  I didn't find the noise of the drilling particularly loud either.  Tom subcontracts the drilling to a company he's used for a very long time, and the driller (Paul) and his co-worker were very professional, arrived on time, and answered any questions I had.
Once drilling was complete, Tom installed the pump and dug a trench to the house for pipes and electric cables so that the pump controls and tank could be installed in our basement.  Although the well is only for irrigation purposes at present, everything has been installed such that, if we ever wanted to use the well for house water, we could do that without further digging outside.  Tom also installed two spigots off the irrigation system, so that I can run a hose using well water to the front of the house and the same at the back of the house - great for watering plants in containers!  There is more pressure from the well water than what we used to get from the town supply.
I paid Tom to restore the ground that had been dug-up from drilling.  You have the option of using your landscaping company if you prefer.  The ground has been filled with loam and re-graded by Tom.  I've dealt with spreading grass seed (my choice) and now I'm just waiting for the grass to grow!  The well has a flat cover, just like irrigation junction boxes in your lawn, so it's not even visible from the street.
I'm extremely happy with the work Tom has done.  He works incredibly hard, often at weekends, to complete jobs as soon as possible.  He is friendly, professional and unfailingly polite.  If you are interested in this type of project, go into it with eyes open in terms of potential costs and put up with a bit of noise and an area of dug-up lawn for a few weeks.  I would have no hesitation in recommending Reliable Well and Pump / Tom for well drilling/installation and repairs.

Very impressive service. Called needing repair on Friday and owner scheduled full visit the following Thursday (which suited my schedule perfectly). He was on time, had all the parts he needed on site, and completed my repair for under his estimated price. He also explained how the well pump worked, helped me to test my hose bibs and sprinkler systems following the pump installation, and answered questions about maintenance etc. Very professional.

Tom from Reliable Well and Pump did an excellent job in correcting excessive arsenic levels in my well water. Upon calling, Tom quickly responded and proceeded to tell me about a particular filtration system that would remedy the arsenic issue.. Tom explained my options in detail while also listening to and addressing  my concerns.  He answered all my calls and/or e-mails and provided me in advance information detailing the specific filter system that he would install. He arrived as scheduled, installed the system in a few hours and charged me the same price as his estimate. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest I would rate reliable well and a 10+. I will definitely call Reliable Well and Pump for any future well issues.
