Hvac Starters

I had lost heat and hot water at my new house and my Viessman oil boiler would not start. I've never had or dealt with an oil system before but I do I have an infant and a toddler... and we had just had a surprise nor'easter so with inside temperatures fast approaching the mid 50s, time was of the essence. Calling locally, I was having trouble finding anyone that would service a Viessman boiler let alone call me back. John from HVAC Starter was a little less local to me, but i was getting desperate and gave his place a try. He responded promptly and was on his way here before I even had a return call from anyone local. He gave me an ETA and then called again when he was on his way to narrow down the ETA further. Once he arrived, he diagnosed the problem right away (clogged oil filter which he replaced) and showed me exactly how things worked and how to do basic troubleshooting if the boiler ever went out again. He didn't charge for travel and spent some time looking at the rest of my system, pointing out other items of note that would need attention soon (all while not pushing any upsell or necessarily suggesting that he be the one to fix it). I was impressed and 102 dollars seemed more than reasonable for the work, travel and time. (12.95 filter, 90 dollars labor, he rounded down the 95 cents). My overall impression was a conscientious, honest and hard working guy.
