Highly recommend! Josh came gave us an estimate for our hot water tank replacement with financings and everything went through and the next day Sal came out, great worker knowledgeable explained everything step by step. Friendly and a dog lover! Just great work and respectful good hard workers!

The service provided by the Electrician they sent was fine, but they charged about $350 an hour. I asked when I called if their electricians were employees or contractors and the woman said employees but I think it is a front for a telemarketing service that contracts out to others.

Very courteous. The work was done top notch and quicker than I expected. All the costs were explained to be well and they even worked with me on “must do” vs “could possibly wait” option to help control my costs this visit. Very happy with the outcome. And I got my appointment faster then expected too.

I received a call yesterday confirming my appointment. I confirmed with the representative at that time. My window was 1-4 pm today (6/30). I had to get someone else to come sit at my home to allow the tech to enter the home because I had an unexpected emergency. I didn't cancel despite my emergency. And yet at 3:00 pm I received a call telling me the service technician would not be able to come to complete my service. After returning home I called to have the appointment rescheduled to tomorrow morning. I was told no availability. I explained I had an in home appointment (that was pushed out a day because of this standing appointment!) and need to have the maintenance completed prior to then and was again told no availability. Apparently Heritage selectively values the time of its customers. This after an incident where one of their plumbers SEVERELY overcharged my elderly mother last summer - more than $1,000 for a job that should have been no more than $300! Every service visit felt more like a sales call. While the technicians seem competent, after these experiences, I cannot recommend using Heritage and will not use them again either.

My initial experience was good when I had Ryan come and rebuild the interior of the boiler and the associated electronics for a total of around $1500 including parts and lots of labor. Then when I called today to have a simple relay replaced, Richard arrived and these people at Heritage proved that they are hucksters of the first order. Stay away from them at all costs!! They tried to sell me a $80 off-the-shelf switching relay for $500!!! Then when I told Richard I would never pay $500 for a switching relay (which requires about 20 minutes to install) he offered to take $100 off his price if I supplied the part! In other words, he was making me the "wonderful" offer to charge me only $1200/hr for his installation time!!! Called the "sales manager" and he was smug, lecturing, defensive and TOTALLY unhelpful. I would NEVER do business with this company ever again. It's highway robbery!! The tech arrived and worked for approximately 90 minutes before ever quoting me the price. It was only AFTER he had uninstalled my existing relay that he quoted me the price of around $500 for a standard Honeywell relay that I just bought from Lowes for $80. The "Service Manager" went on-and-on on the phone about how it was like how a restaurant charges a lot more than the food cost for its dishes. Unfortunately, this "Service Manager" has NO IDEA what he is talking about. In a restaurant, a professional chef prepares the food with lots of other ingredients, it is then served in a pleasing environment, and there is service from waiters, busboys, maitre d, and sometimes the owner and chef. NONE of these things happen here. A tech spends 20 minutes installing a standard, off-the-shelf part to which the tech adds NO VALUE WHATSOEVER, and for that "service" these hucksters add $400 to the price of an $80 part!!! For 20 minutes of work that comes to $1200/hr. "Highway robbery" would be a kind way of phrasing it. Based on the fact that they DO NOT tell you up front how much it will cost, but only after 90 minutes of wasted time during which the tech accomplished nothing other than uninstalling my existing relay which I told him to put back, I would say "bait-and-switch" and virtual fraud would be more descriptive terms for the services that this company provides. Stay away from Heritage if you don't want to be massively ripped off and have your time wasted!

For the sake of transparency, this is Jacob, one of the family members at Heritage, and I handle each customer review directly. With that out of the way, allow me to address some points about your experience with us: Let us place price on the sidelines for just a moment (I will come back to this). In terms of our service alone, I am surprised to see you have graded us so poorly, especially after having had work performed by us before with no grievance in regards to Heritage's Quality, Responsiveness, Punctuality, and Professionalism (using the Angie's List grading structure). However, we have built our brand for over 30 years by exemplifying these aforementioned qualities. At the very least, we stand by our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, in which we will do whatever it takes to make a bad situation right for you. From my understanding, you had treated our HVAC department manager with such a level of contempt that we had to end the dialogue which could have led to a resolution, or at least a better understanding of where we were coming from. That being said, we would not have been around this long if we were committing "highway robbery" or "virtual fraud" as you suggest in your review. Our pricing is flat rate (meaning everyone gets quoted the same price relative to the job). Is it expensive? Yes, it is. I emphatically agree with you on this. But, this does not change the fact that this is the genuine cost of doing business. In this situation, we likely told you we had to diagnose the issue before quoting you a repair. Unless you had the expertise to know what your exact issue was and how to fix it, how would you know the tech accomplished nothing in his 90 minutes spent digging through your system? Yet, you expect a trained, licensed professional to work for next to nothing, and value his time and expertise just as little. Are we the cheapest option? No, we make no secret about this fact. The difference is Heritage actually cares about delivering the best possible service to its customers as well as the people under its employ. This costs money. It costs money to have fully licensed and background checked technicians. It costs money to have technicians arrive at your door in fully stocked trucks, ready to perform work same day. It costs money to maintain a fleet of over 40 vehicles, and 70+ technicians who are available 7-days a week, emergency service included. It costs money to maintain the office staff who support these technicians, and properly handle the calls we receive. It costs money to provide competitive health insurance and benefits to our employees and their families. So, why do our customers routinely choose Heritage? Because they are tired of settling for less and getting burned in the process by competitors who undercut each other for the lowest viable bid. This does nothing to serve the customer or themselves. In this industry, the simple fact is you get what you pay for."
