A- OK Lock & Security

Excellent. We were in a bind for quick service on a Saturday. We called 6 area locksmiths. Only 2 answered/picked up, and only 1 made the time to come help us - Peter of A-OK. He worked hard and got the job done despite running into the evening. We were very impressed by his professionalism and work ethic, and highly recommend him.

He was fast, came out that same day even though we could have waited. He was clean, professional, and meticulous with the fit and alignment of the locks. He even waited until I made a quick run to home Depot to buy the locks. His price was reasonable. He has been doing this twenty years and owns the company.

Called Peter and he came out the next day to do the work.  He called 20 min before arrival to say he was on the way.  Work was done promptly and to my satisfaction.  Peter was personable and helpful (he tightened the the front door when closed by adjusting the strike plate).  I would definitely call Peter again and recommend him to others.

Very happy with service provided. He was running a little late and called ahead to notify me. When he got here he was very friendly and professional. When he found there was a problem with the locks I had bought, he took the time to try to pick them and reset them.Very clean...vacuumed up any sawdust and threw out any trash.

My experience was fine. They were good people to deal with. They were prompt and courteous. They were quick to return my calls. The front door weatherstripping could have been better.

Peter was great! Very easy to work with and did a wonderful job.  He cleaned up after himself, went above and beyond the work order.  Originally he was only scheduled to install the deadbolt but when I had a matching door knob he volunteered to install it for me as well.  He also spent the time to ensure the same key could be used.  I referred him to friends already and will def use his again in the future.

Peter with A-OK was outstanding! He was able to meet me at he house the same afternoon I called him. He was extremely professional, got the work done quickly, left no mess and everything worked. I'd had the locks changed when i first moved into the house and paid significantly more then. As it turned out, I had a handyman at the house at the same time and my neighbors had asked him to work on their locks. He talked to Peter and A-OK ended up doing the work instead! It was cheaper and faster for the neighbors. I am very happy with the work, the timing, the responsiveness, and the price. I have A-OK in my contacts list now and would definitely use them again, and recommend them to anyone.

First person answered phone FROM VACATION.  He called a co-worker in town who called me in 5 minutes.  Came in 1 hour, as promised, explained what he was doing as he went along.  Job took 1/2 hour.   Professional, quick, good explainer, nice guy.  Somerville is a land of multi-locked buildings; do your business with A-OK Locks--highly recommended.

I spent $85 on that work. They are very quick about coming out. They do what they need to do and they know their stuff. I can trust them. They are polite.

I was very pleased with the service. He answered fully all my questions. He spent about 2 hours fixing the problems. I was prepared to replace all the locks in my home with new ones but he advised me that it would be much cheaper to simply use the old locks and keys and reconfigure the new deadbolt to the existing ones (which I didn't realize I could do). A less scrupulous person would have taken advantage of my ignorance of locks and lock repair by doing more work than was necessary. I did not get an estimate beforehand but I felt the final bill was reasonable. It should be noted that Angie's List indicates that A-OK Lock & Security is not bonded or insured. In fact, they are fully bonded and insured.

Co. didn't respond to my first phone call, but did respond to 2nd and came out that day. Found out the company was in the midst of moving, so I chalked it up to the move. All in all, a great experience. Nick the tech was extremely thorough. Great job.

Peter showed up about 20 minutes after I called. Installing the deadbolt involved some work in removing the old one, which was stuck shut, but he persevered and got the job done. I had an old, loose and rusted doorknob on one of my doors to the outside and thought I might leave it for another time, but he pointed out I'd save on the $35 trip charge if I did it now, which made sense, so I went for it. He did an excellent job, and I'd definitely use him again.

Our experience with A-OK dramatically exceeded my expectations. We moved into an old house with one door that always stuck, especially with humidity, one door that was newly and poorly installed, which actually broke during the move, and locks that were a constant struggle to engage. Our installer from A-OK not only did what we requested -- changing all locks to one new key -- but he also realigned the strike plate on the basement door, and the piece de resistance was the front door, which he voluntarily took off the hinges, planed down, and re-hung so that it closed perfectly. These doors and locks were always a pain, but now they open and close perfectly.

Locksmith was very helpful, friendly and thorough, although it took a while to complete the job. We waited as long as we could (a few hours) and ended up having to leave him there, which made me a little nervous, but all was OK. We met a few days later to retrieve the key and to pay the bill.

They were very professional in coming and giving an itemized quote list with options to choose from. When they came out, they knew what they were doing and seemed like a very professional organization. Compared to some previous fly by night pressure washing guys that I used, I had a nice experience with A-OK.

I called the day before to make an appointment and was told that someone would be there between 2 and 2:30. I described the services, and was told that there was a $35 fee for travel plus $25 per door that would be rekeyed. Peter showed up right on time and was very pleasant and personable. He looked at all the locks in the house and advised on which ones would need to be rekeyed. The process took about 20 or 30 minutes, and the locks and keys work great. The price was exactly as described.

I called A-OK and left a message. Peter Tenaglia returned my call within a half hour. My husband had locked the keys to his scooter inside its seat, but he was hooked to a dialysis machine. I was at work, hooked to my desk. Our hands were tied and I needed someone who could find him and execute the job with remote instructions. Peter did it. He was prompt, polite and professional. I have already used him again. I have since needed the lock rekeyed on the office door, and he will be coming again to replace the locks on the back office door.

I moved into a new house and needed to change the keys. Called A-OK and they asked if I wanted to do it right then. I opted for next day. They gave me a half-hour window but the worker came late, about 20 minutes after the end of the half-hour window. He explained briefly what he was going to do and started work. During the work, he got several phone calls and seemed to be in a somewhat bad mood. He finished work in about an hour and the locks seem to work well now.

I was able to make an appointment for the next day and everything went well. We reviewed all the doors in the place, outside and inside. One of the doors was a bit unusual and Peter recommended a different knob to make it work better, which turned out great. I wasn't ready for the other repairs but he proposed some solutions for future reference, and adjusted some of the offending doors along the way. Very satisfied.
