The crew showed up on time and performed the work without delay. They were careful to remove debris when finished. Quote process was very transparent and the owner was easily reachable.

The owner of the company gave me a call and came out for the job appraisal on the same day. I received the appraisal that evening. He was there two days later and the complete install was done in two days and it works great. About the owner and his crew, they were great, polite, kept the work area clean and completed the central A/C in two days with quality equipment at a very reasonable price. They followed up a couple days after the work was completed to follow up and make sure everything was functioning properly. We are very pleased with this transaction and would recommend Subzero Heating & Air Conditioning to friends and family.

They contacted me first of all the contractors, came out to provide an estimate days before the others set up an appointment. They actually finished the installation before the other appointments were scheduled! The new system was up & running in less than five days from the first phone call to finished. Can't beat that. They are very efficient and open. He advised on all the options that I asked about & was open to all options. The install took less than 5 hours, top to bottom. Friendly & courteous crew. I recommend them.

subzero did a great job for me, am yet to fully enjoy my appliance when i move in fully, i still have some work to do in the house. the company was on time, and precise, they cleaned up, and removed old appliance as they said, i will hightly recommend subzero to a friend, i will give them a 10

David McKinnon, owner, was professional, punctual, helpful, extremely bright, educated and patient. He waited patiently for his scheduled emergency appointment with us on a Saturday during a brutal heat wave while we got waylaid in oversell by Sears...while waiting, he took a look at the system, ascertained what was wrong, fixed it, made his presentation including recommendation and cost and had the new system installed 48 hours later. I liked this pro immediately after our initial several emails then finally our phone contact. I asked him for a service contract for all HVAC, and to do some other related work.

Heat Pump Installation and Replacement
Subzero worked with us to find a heating & AC system that would fit into our budget and meet our needs. They set up a plan to replace our system in 2 stages, which worked perfectly for us. There willingness to take the time to work with us set them apart from others. They also (without being asked) sent us informaton on all of the parts to be included in the system, so I could verify up front they used quality equipment. They did a very neat job with all the duct work and have returned to resolve any questions/issued we've had.

The removal of the old heat pump equipment and the installation of the new equipment went smoothly. We are extremely happy with the new unit. Subzero was professional in everything that they did for us. We would highly recommend Subzero and their services.

Liked them from the start. They were straight forward and easy to talk to. They totally explained the project and what they were going to do. They certainly know their job. We had a tough job and they did it so easily and quickly. They didn't bother the household - were on time and worked straight through. We've had a lot of construction people in our home - these people were the best we've ever had. They did an awesome job - the price was fair and reasonable - and they were so neat and clean. Just perfect. They installed our new central a/c sysem. Use David and his father. You won't be disappointed.

Replaced existing gas fired hot air furnace. Very competitive quote. Good communication through out the process. Arrived on time and completed the installation in a single day. I was on site all day and had the opportunity to talk with Dave and his partner. They were friendly, knowledgeable and answered all questions. Overall a very good experience.

I contacted many contractors. Most had different ideas. Subzero had the best idea for what i had in mind and the most affordable. I had a new heating system along with additional duct work added and a new cooling system. My main desire was to get 2 zones . I feel confident that we will experience the difference in the winter months as well as the summer. They showed up when they said they would. They came in and finished the job in a timely fashion.And they never put us off.

I was a little skeptical because his price seemed too good to be true. I wanted ductless split systems from Fujitsu and I have NO idea why they are so expensive, but Dave offered the best price, installed. His proposal was straightforward and there were no surprise costs. The amount quoted was the amount paid. I have to give Dave credit for coming into a job site where they were a little hostile. My contractor quoted me a far higher price for these units and I told him I would get my own person. They weren't exactly friendly to Dave, but he did his job despite the numerous delays that were not his fault. I'm very satisfied.

My experience was excellent. Our condo building in the South End has some annoying rules and regulations regarding when contractors are allowed to work in the building, and David was able to handle all of this with patience and still finish the project in a timely way. Furthermore, buildings in the city (Back Bay, South End, Beacon Hill) can be challenging to do work in, and he did a great job given the non-standard nature of the AC install. I would wholeheartedly recommend David for HVAC projects in the city. He was very calm, courteous, patient, and just an overall nice guy, which to me seems rather rare amongst contractors.

Excellent and efficient, and competitive quote to boot! Of the 3 HVAC people we contacted, David returned my calls/emails quickly, wrote up a clear proposal, and answered all questions that we had about the project. He engineered a new duct to add a room on the lower level of our condo to the central system and he added central a/c in addition to replacing the furnace. There was one small error on the proposal about the efficiency rating of the furnace, but he corrected that immediately. The actual work was done efficiently (and much more quickly than I thought the project would take), and they left the work site clean. Highly recommend

David of SubZero and his father, were professional, courteous, well-informed, efficient workers. A pleasure to work with. Did a great job and went the extra mile by replacing two air ducts - work which would not have been covered by other contractors I spoke to. They replaced my forced hot-air furnace and it is working very well.

Dave, the owner of Subzero made an appointment the day after my request. We walked through the house together and worked on a strategy for converting my split level house from electric to gas heat. He emailed me a estimate and proposal that night. I met with three contractors and Dave is the one I choose to do the work. He is professional, knowledgeable, great to work with and has a fantastic work ethic. The price was very good, the experience was a positive one; workmanship and attention to every detail was excellent. It doesn't get and better than Subzero; price, service, craftsmanship, technical and personal skills were all outstanding!.
