The price was great. Compared to other prices I saw, they beat everybody. When I told other people what I paid, they didn't believe me. They came out, put tarp down, cleaned everything up and were done in a day. They came first thing in the morning and when I came home around 4 PM they were gone. Everything was done and cleaned up.

I purchased handy man services but the provider said that that ad had been removed so he did some roof inspection.  Very professional but not exactly what I needed at the time.  It turned out for the best in the end.

This company is absolutely marvelous!! When they came to do an estimate, they took pictures on the roof so I could see the problems. They wrote a contract telling exactly what they were going to do AND FULFILLED EVERYTHING. They found the problem I was having with my chimney - showed me pictures and explained why this part of the roof was leaking. The men also found ways to provide service without costing extra even though parts of what they did were not specified in the contract.

One day it was supposed to rain and they worked at least 2 hours beyond since they were very concerned that I might have a problem.  No problem at all.

Another area with a problem with the leak in a room having a dropped tile ceiling. When this leaked first appeared, I knew I was going to have the roof repaired. They repaired this leak and also provided new tiles for the damaged part - even though the leak occurred BEFORE they were hired.

Nice people, friendly, punctual and with a sense of humor that made them nice to be around!!!!!

They are in Taunton and work in a large area. The owner is Pete Fortin and you speak with him when you call. Phone is 508-400-4566.

Call them - you will be extremely satisfied!!!

Peter is a man of his word. They were there on time and completed the job in a day. They also installed some insulation I purchased. They were competitive in price and I could find an old nail or shingle on the ground. I would recommend you go with Fortin.

The carpenter showed up on time but, after discussing the design and scope of the project, I had to leave for work.   When I returned, I was astounded at the unprofessional workmanship and poor decision making on the part of the carpenter.  I will provide photos and a detailed description upon request.

They did an excellent job but I had to call back as we found a few live wasps inside.

They were very courteous, every points I was exposed to was professional, and did take care of the issue. I know they will come back to make sure the job is done so I have a very positive opinion of them.

Initially it was terrible.  I asked the guy if they can be done by the end of February because I had people come on to the other house because the house is going to market.  This is what I specified when I contacted them.  Nobody showed up and nobody called me back and I ended up paying 60% down and I got a call from the owner who was calling me from Florida when he found out all this stuff was going on that I should never pay more than 10% down.  The person that was supposed to come out; the one who was handled to deal called his team half way over and so the boss had to get another squad in to do it.  In the end he put on composite which is more expensive to replace the stuff, to try and make up for it.  He made good on the deal but the original lad is no longer there and he ended up getting fired because he was one who took too much of money, too much time and was cancelling it all the time.  I paid the amount on Angie’s List and they were supposed to replace the phase of behind the gutter in front of my house.  There was a small three foot section of the wood all over the gable that was rotted out and that was it.  It was due to be painted and it was supposed to be done by the end of February and it was second or third of March by the time they came over and did it.  They couldn’t paint because it was too cold and the gable end and three foot section is still white and it is supposed to be sky blue but they can’t do that yet.  If I had these specified at that time of the contract I might have asked to paint it while it was at their place and bring it over and fix it but that’s still white against the light blue house, the phase is still white and that didn’t bother me because guttering was white but the end is still white and my house is on market.  The lad that finally showed up did the whole thing in the day and it was good work and they did some window work and they replaced those and fixed them up well.  Once again they couldn’t be painted too much because it is too cold.  In the end they added little bit at the bottom of my front door because there was a little bit left over which I told them it was rotted out and to leave it and I will put on myself but they actually put it on for me.  Those lads were fine and I would hire them again.  The owner was in Florida and it was all sub contracted out and the sub contactor was junk and I wouldn’t hire them for anything.  If the company is still run by the boss then I would definitely recommend them.  It was total junk in the beginning but they made up for it in the end.  At times when they did show up they did show up.  When I talked to the boss everything was fine but the other ones they wouldn’t contact me and they said they would be coming over and never showed up and we were waiting the whole day around the house and the automatic calls were taken off.  We expected them at half past 11 but nobody showed up till 5:00.  I don’t want to give a bad mark for the boss because he made up for it but they still have to take the responsibility.

The crew leader was responsive in getting the work done in a timely fashion.  He was polite and made suggestions for future work.  The owner, Mr. Fortin, was likewise a generous and accommodating professional.  I will need future work on my roof and Fortin will be the company I call.

I should note that the $10k I noted above was over time and was spread out between three projects (Roof ~$7,500, Insulation ~$2,000, Doors $500)
Employees of Fortin are always courteous and nice.  Pete Fortin himself showed up once or twice for my roof.   Generally I have had good experience when the job is first completed.  However, I have since had some issues with both the roof and my exterior/screen doors as time has gone on.
I have continuously found pieces of old shingle on my property as I mow the lawn.  I have also found roofing nails scattered about.  Though they were much more affordable than other companies, I would have liked more site cleanliness--especially because this was a multi-family and tenant safety is a concern.
When I had insulation blown by Fortin, I was told that I still had a leak because the wrong size boot had been used around my toilet vent.  The crew blowing the insulation had some roofing tar in a tube and kindly caulked the gap.
Lastly, I had exterior doors installed.  The exterior doors seemed to go off without a hitch, but the screen doors presented challenges.  Specifically, one door never seemed to close correctly.  I had to adjust the closer so that it practically slammed the door.  When a hurricane rolled around not long after installation, that particular door was thrown open, splitting a part of the wood that the door was attached to, and bending the door.  When a representative of Fortin showed up, he called the main office, who said that it was an act of God that damaged the door and I would have to pay for the repair.  I stated that I disagreed, and that if the door was installed properly the "Act of God" would have been a non-issue, and my door would not be bent.  I chose not to have the repair done because I disagreed with this business practice.
Seeing this as the way that Fortin would stand behind his work, I have passed on calling him again, despite his reasonable prices.  I'd rather pay another contractor or handy man to remedy new issues that I find.

Giving them the benefit of the doubt, this is a smaller company that wasnt ready for the increase in business they would get when they put a deal on Angieslist.  But, there were numerous problems with the job.  First, I had a terrible time getting in touch with them.  Emails weren't answered, and every time I talked to them on the phone I seemed to have to remind them of all of the details of the project (like they weren't keeping any records).  Second, when I purchased the deal it did not have any indication of an extra charge for a 2 story house, but when I talked to the owner on the phone he assured me that it was in the original add.  I told him I would not have purchased the deal if the charge was included, and he offered to cut the extra charge in half, but maintained that it was specified in the original deal.  I got in touch with Angieslist to confirm that the deal had been modified to include the charge AFTER I purchased it, and they confirmed that it had (so, the owner lied to my face).  I confronted the owner with this information and he agreed to abide by the purchased terms (good) but would forget and make me remind him every time we talked on the phone after that (bad).  Third, they asked for someone to be home during the work, and then missed several appointments without any notice, which is extremely unprofessional.  There were other issues as well.  In short, this was WAY more of a headache and hassle than I wanted, and while some of the work that I wanted to get done got done, I wish I had gone with a different company.

So basically all went well. More work came up than expected and they stuck with us through this and the clean up was a great job too. Also back in 2012 Fortin put up a wheelchair ramp they we needed ASAP. Well they put that ramp up even before the date they gave us. This ramp is a very important part of our home and even though the loan we all felt with was a pain, Fortin hung in with us and never placed blame or lack of patience with us. This ramp cost $ 10,000.00 . The weatherizing job came out beautiful , we actually get compliments on the ramp, it looks great. Perfect , exactly what we asked for.

When they did the siding, they went over everything with me, they did an excellent job. They were prompt, they also cleaned up very little nail and shingle . He did an excellent job the second time around as well.  It was flawless. I would recommend them to my friends and family. They also put tarps down everywhere as well to help keep our yard safe.

They did everything they said they were going to do.  They were on time, nice, and cleaned up after themselves.  We highly recommend them to others.
