KA REMODELING

We recently purchased an old 2 family home in need of major renovation. Unfortunately, we thought we only had enough money to put in a new kitchen on the first floor. Until we met Ken and his team. We ended up completely remodeling both floors of our home. The team started out by pulling out the linoleum in the kitchen and bathroom on the second floor and replacing it with tile. Then they repainted the cabinets from our first floor kitchen and used them for the second floor. All of the walls in the second floor bathroom were gutted and replace by new sheet rock. The shower was replaced, the plumbing and electric sockets were refitted and the bathroom painted. The former owners had stained all of the walls and ceilings. So they primed and repainted all of the walls and ceiling in the kitchen, 2 bedrooms and living room. Then they pulled up the old wall to wall carpeting stripped the paint off the pine floors and refinished them with beautiful dark stain. They then finished the second floor by putting in new lighting fixtures. On the first floor there was an horrendous faux brick wall in the kitchen, separating the kitchen it from the living room. We wanted to take it out to open up the floor plan. They started pulling out the wall and discovered a fireplace and chimney. Ken helped us come up with a plan to incorporate the contours of the chimney into a stepped wall and walkway connecting the two rooms. We bought ikea cabinets which they helped put in, retiled the floors in the kitchen closed off an extra doorway and created a large walk-in pantry from a closet for extra kitchen storage space. They knocked out all of the walls in the bathroom, put in new sheet rock walls, tiled the floor, painted the walls and put in a new sink and cabinets. They primed and painted all of the walls in the bedroom, living room, dining room and sun room. They also knocked out a wall connecting the dining room and three season porch and installed french doors. An electrician who works with them put light fixtures in the porch. They also reinforced the floor joists in the basement of our sagging 120 year old house by putting jacks and support beams in. We were able to do so much more than we expected with our budget. I would recommend Ken to anyone in a heartbeat.
