We asked them to repair a broken sprinkler head. They didn't fix it, but charged us $105 for "Spring Start-up" on sprinklers we were already using (I turned the sprinklers on myself). When I asked to have them return to actually fix the sprinklers they refused to waive the previous $105 fee and said they would be charging another fee for this second visit (along with the repair costs).

I called and made an appointment. Waited a month for appointment. Took kids to school and my wife was in the basement (she was unable to hear the ring). He arrived at my house at 8:56 (time stamped on ring camera) left at 8:59 (time stamped on ring camera) no phone call to ask is anyone home. I explained what took place to the woman who answers the phone. I asked why didn't they call in case someone couldn't hear the doorbell, she said, we only call if asked. I also asked when can I get another appointment she responded I have no idea. I then said do you even care if I use someone else since you can't give me a new appointment? To that she said I can't tell you what to do. Horrible experience today and the way they made me, the customer feel, was horrible customer service. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!

We had a miserable experience with this company. On four occasions, Olsen was a no show. All three appointments were confirmed, we took the day off of work and they didn’t show, no call or apology. As a result, we switched companies.

I can't say enough good things about the job that Olson did. The crew was both hard working and careful with their work. Even with the ditch witch, this is very hard work. The 4-man crew barely took a lunch break. They did such a nice job restoring the lawn that when the job was done, it didn't look like they have been there at all (truthfully, my lawn was in such poor shape prior, it actually looked better when they were done). Even my neighbors have commented on what a nice they did. Peter Olson was responsive throughout, from initial quote to finished job. I would recommend Olson without hesitation.

We'd been meaning to get a lawn irrigation system for some time. We went with Olson's on the recommendation of several of our neighbors.
The good:
Everything except communication. The crew was very knowledgeable and helpful. I was amazed how little disruption there was to our existing lawn. All questions were answered. We are very happy with our system. I also thought the price was very reasonable.
The less good:
Communication. We got a quick response to our initial call (I think Pete was out within a day or two of that call), and when asked when the project could be done, were told within about two weeks.
We called to schedule a few days later and left a deposit. Plumbers came a few days later to install the extra water meter and piping to the outside. There must have been a breakdown in communication, because I didn't get a call about scheduling the main system. After nearly two weeks (i.e. around the time the project supposedly would have been finished), I called and was told "we weren't on the schedule yet." I was patient (it was still early spring), but called the Friday after with a similar result. When I was told the same thing one week later (i.e. roughly 4 weeks after our initial meeting and fee quote), I lost my patience. The crew was out the next day and got the job done.
All in all it was a very good experience, but they need to be a bit more on top of scheduling and communication. I honestly wouldn't have cared if I was told that it would be four weeks before they could get the system in. I was just frustrated by the much shorter estimate, and the lack of communication (and lack of action in response to my first several inquiries).

Overall, the work was very good. The crew arrived on schedule and completed the work in a timely manner.
One area that I had to really chase the company about though was the deduct meter. I understand Peter and his team don't control the schedule of the plumber they use for the deduct meters, but the communication could have been better.
