My car was stuck in the garage, and we couldn't open the door manually. I emailed Doug around 10 AM, and he responded right away. He was clear about his availability, and wasn't sure he'd be able to make it the same day. Nonetheless, he pulled in before 3 PM the same day, and was done in 10-15 minutes. This is the second time we've used Sudbury Garage Door, and they'll be the ones we call next time we need a repair or replacement.

Called Sudbury garage door owner, Doug, to come check out damage to garage door, open it and give me a quote to repair. He arrived same day, opened the door and said the whole door((all 3 panels) would need to be replaced. Only lower 2 panels were damaged.
I waited a week to hear back from him........ Nothing. Called him several times, left messages, but still nothing. Two weeks later I received a quote emailed to me.
Meanwhile, I had researched other garage door companies, rated highly on Angies list. Precision Garage Doors (Hudson NH) were out within 3 days , replaced the 2 damaged panels and charged 50% less than the quoted price from Sudbury Garage Door.

"I had explained to you from the beginning that I don't really deal with that type of door but I would look into it. I went to your house to first lower the door then you called me back to open it up for you which I did. I explained to you that I had your wrong phone number and that is why I had not called but had emailed you in these weeks span that you claim I had not returned your call. I emailed you as well in these weeks explaining that the pricing I was getting was really expensive and I would not blame you if you use another company that was getting you better pricing. I also told you the the info I was getting was the whole door was the same price as 2 sections I was never trying to cheat you out of something. I wish it worked out better and apologize if I caused you any inconvenience but do find it odd that you only wrote this review the day after I contacted you asking for the payment which I still have not recieved. Called back the same day, came the next. Called to say he'd be a little late, then came when expected. Quickly found my problem, fixed it, no charge. Very pleasant person to deal with.

Doug was very responsive and was able to finish the entire job in one afternoon. He was professional, courteous and took care to walk through the details on operating the system after the install was complete. I would definitely recommend Sudbury Garage Door to anyone!

Doug is always a professional. This is the third time I have needed his services for different doors or services. He checked first if it could be repaired. Then he gave an accurate quote for two options for replacing the unit. He installed an ultra quiet unit which is much better than what we had previously. His work is always high quality. I will use him again.

He showed up on time for the initial appointment to determine what was wrong and what needed to be fixed. He then came back for the second visit and took care of the problem completely, with a new spring, also lubricating and cleaning everything as needed. I was so pleasantly surprised that the cost was so low, even with two visits and the hardware.

Doug is fantastic. I have had him fix my garage doors in past. My garage door motor stopped working. When I tried it one more time it started smoking. After unplugging it I called Doug. He called me right back, set up a time to come over, checked out the problem, verified that the motor had to be replaced, got a new garage door motor unit and installed it the next day. And the new motor is 10 tomes quieter than the old unit.

He gave an accurate quote and then changed it and did not follow up to finish the job. The garage door works well but there is a section on the top that isn't weather stripped. We would have appreciated some follow up so that the whole thing would be done right.

Doug met with me and reviewed my options, including prices. I hired him and we set an installation date. He showed up on time and worked through the installation without incident. The doors were installed in a few hours and have worked flawlessly since their installation. Both the materials and the installation look to be very good. I recommend this company.

Doug (2nd generation) showed up on time, the very afternoon I called for a repair. He started on one door, and then checked both doors thoroughly. Instead of "selling" me a new keypad, he fixed the old one. 40 minutes later I have two working doors, repaired, oiled, wires replaced and bolts tightened, and tension verified. Honest work for honest pay. You look forward to writing checks like this. He understands the value of a great local reputation. Don't hesitate to use him. I will again, and I will use him when I have to replace my doors as a result of this experience.

The electrical installation went fine, and so did the subsequent Operator installation. However, just after Doug Wood, Sudbury's owner/installer, left, we turned on the regular garage lights and managed to trip a circuitbreaker. We called Doug, then Mark Rousel (the electrician). Mark promptly came and, after very intense troubleshooting, found the the home builder (circa 1970) had left a dangling live wire which was dislodged during the Operator installation process, hence the short circuit. Mark promptly corrected the problem, and the end result is just what we wanted.
We are very pleased with both the installation and the subsequent troubleshooting, and are very satisfied with the results of this, our first utilization of Angies' List.

They are very professional. They came and looked at the job. Then they went and got the parts and came back to fix it. They did the work, cleaned up and moved on very quickly. They are very timely; the time between when we called and when we had to wait for service was very short. They showed up on time and did the job the same day, which was very positive. I didn’t get multiple estimates.
