StonehamBank - A Co-operative Bank

Cost listed were the closing fees for a mortgage to buy an investment property (this includes an appraisal, and they're a bit cheaper for residential homes).  (Extra charges would include points to lower the rate, tax payoffs, your own title insurance policy, etc).  This was a great price, and the rate they gave me was as low as I could find anywhere else.  Most importantly, the process was extremely quick, with great communication.  Contrast that to my last mortgage w/ Bank of America, where your loan processing disappears into their corporate machine, and you can't get any visibility into its status, or when they might complete it.  We worked w/ Maria Luker out of the Stoneham office, and she was absolutely terrific in pace & pleasantness, and has ~15 years worth of experience to your benefit.

I'm not even sure if it's appropriate to gush about a bank for the mortgage process, but that is indeed how we feel. We found Jamie Simpson and Stoneham Bank by accident when we were looking for a local bank to secure our mortgage. Lucky us! Jamie was fantastic and truly educated us at each step of the process. We felt like he was *as* excited for our first-time house purchase as we were. We'd recommend him and Stoneham Bank in a heartbeat.
