Overall I was satisfied with the work performed. While it was pricey and not completed in the time stated, the end product is absolutely stunning. Steve has an AMAZING kitchen designer who set up the best layout for the kitchen and made the most of our space from both a visual and functional perspective. Steve does want to do right by his clients and will make every effort to deliver on what you want. I would recommend Steve for another job with one very big qualification. DO NOT USE HIS SUBCONTACTOR FOR ELECTRICAL SERVICES MICHAEL SANTANGELO! After Michael completed the electrical upgrade, he was requested to come back to my home because he failed to properly hook up the AC to the new circuit breaker he installed as it should have been. He was supposed to arrive at 3pm on a Friday and when I called at 4:30pm he said he was "stuck in traffic" and wouldn't make it that day, however didn?t have the thought to call and tell me he wouldn?t be coming. He did not show up for the rescheduled appointment at 10am the next day. When I texted him asking where he was and when he would be here, he called me, screaming and threatening me with phrases like "do you know who you are talking to, watch out, etc." which was completely unprovoked. He is completely unprofessional not too mentioned utterly insane. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT HIRE MICHAEL SANTANGELO!!!!

I had scheduled an appointment to meet with Mr. Sgroi and was initially impressed with his response; he was very proactive and called me to see if we could meet the next day. I scheduled the appointment for 10 am. The contractor was more than an hour late and did not call me to tell me he was running late; rather I had to call them twice. When their truck finally pulled up they sat inside for a few minutes smoking a cigar (!) and fiddling with paperwork or something while I stood on the sidewalk clearly visible. When I said, wow you're really late, they admitted that they had forgotten a job somewhere else (!!) and had to go do that first. Contractor was not unfriendly but seemed to be thinking about something else a lot of the time. This was the cheapest price quoted out of all the contractors but I was suspicious that they said that they would not have to replace the main joists on the old deck when all the other contractors said that the joists were obviously bad and would have to go. They also said that they could hammer down the dented weatherstripping rather than replacing it with new weatherstripping or some other kind of weatherproofing system, which all the other contractors recommended. Sent quote relatively quickly after meeting, which is the best thing I have to say about them. Definitely not recommended at all; they acted like they didn't want my business from the start and confirmed it when they said to me, a potential new client, that they'd forgotten someone else's job after arriving an hour late w/cigar for an initial meeting where first impressions are really important. If this was how they were acting when they were trying to get my business and make a good impression I didn't want to know what happened after they got it or if things went wrong.

The workers from SM Sgroi were fantastic. They were so professional. They kept the site clean. They did such good work. The porch came out so well. The work is just outstanding. I definitely recommend them.

The project went very smoothly and was on time and on budget. The only extra charges were for work that we added after signing the contract, and all costs were approved in advance. Steve Sgroi really knows what he is doing and we hired him after viewing a couple other kitchens he had done for friends of ours who highly recommended him. His workers were courteous and picked up after themselves every night. We would definitely hire his company again.
