Description of Work: Contractor showed up punctual, presentable and showed that he was also knowledgeable. He made the heating repair and provided me with valuable tips.

Description of Work: The person who came seemed disinterested - I had to repeatedly ask him to check things. He initially said the central air vent was fine in the room I was concerned about. He did look in the attic to view the system. The air flow was clearly diminished. Then he said it would be better if turned around. He went to leave without doing so and I asked him to come back and address. Very little was done other than replacing a filter.

Description of Work: Sila technician promptly identified reason Central A/C had ceased responding to thermostat settings. Found loose wire, and reconnected. However, the vibrations (which must have caused the loose wire in the first place) from the indoor motor of the A/C (in the furnace) increased over a period of a week, dramatically. Sila returned as soon as called, found the reason for the awful vibrations and remedied that. Result was, I was so pleased, I contracted for three years service with them.

Description of Work: The service was excellent and very professional. Arrived on time. I was told what I needed to do going forward with the boilers and how long they will last. Most differently I would use this company again and I will also tell my friends and family about this company. A great company and excellent service.

Description of Work: Silva ad was for a AC tune up. Before I paid to Angie list, I called silva and told him that I have a outside old AC unit which needs tune up as it is not cooling properly. Technician came water sprayed the unit from outside. Left me a estimate that I need new unit for $3200. He did not check gas pressure or lift the AC cover to check the condenser. No I will not use Silva again.

Description of Work: Our heating system (forced hot water by gas) had not been serviced in a couple of years. We had the $89 maintenance deal from Sila done on this unit. The technician made several adjustments that seemed to improve the system performance. He also replaced a part that he said was likely to fail soon. The additional fix was $150.

Description of Work: I had Sila come do a boiler cleaning/tune up with an Angie's List super deal. The technician did everything expected, in terms of cleaning what could be cleaned, checking everything out & testing the system. He pointed out a number of parts that needed to be replaced, and got his boss out to also look at the system when I decided I wanted a quote from them for repairs or possibly replacement. My two gripes are as follows: 1) he was an hour late from the time of the appointment, which isn't a huge deal - it was in the afternoon, and I understand these guys get held up at jobs throughout the day, but anyway, it happened; 2) they seriously tried to scare me & sell me an entire new boiler, citing both the age of my current boiler, and some pieces that were deteriorating. They did too good a job, because what they ended up quoting me was a significant-enough piece of work that I had two other plumbers out to get separate quotes, both of whom told me I did not need a new boiler, just a few external parts replaced, for significantly less money. The second plumber, when I was telling him the situation, said he had thought it would be Sila from my story - apparently their known for doing this. I get it, it's business, but it also means I won't be using them again. In summary, I was happy with my Angie's List coupon, and happy with the service provided per the coupon, but not thrilled with the overall experience because of them trying to sell me a new boiler that I don't need.

Description of Work: This is my second time using Sila and again we had anther great experience. My water heater was leaking and they determined that it had to be replaced. They did the work all in one day and were very professional. It's hard to find service companies of Sila's caliper because very few exist. The men who performed the work were very professional and the office staff made sure to make my call a priority due to the leaking water. I highly recommended Sila to people who value great service and professionalism. Might not be the cheapest company but their work and expertise are well worth it.

Description of Work: I bought the $89 furnace clean-up deal from Angie's List. They came and cleaned my gas furnace and did a very good job at it, except that they forgot to plug back a capacitor wire during the safety checks so I was without heat until the next morning when I noticed it.
