Description of Work: I requested a quote to update a 25 year old central AC system - not original to the house. 2 nice,professional sales guys arrived, looked everything over said they'd write up a quote in a few days. That afternoon I get a call that says they have 3 price levels for me ranging from - $20k - $12K. They had nothing in writing but I asked to receive. They could not describe the differences in equipment of what the various price levels would provide. They showed me a list of people's names that have purchased from them. But after a lot discussion, the names were people that purchsed from their predessor too (a company they purchased). None of this felt right to me. I ended up purchasing a new system for $9,600 from a competitor.

Description of Work: We now know that we have an old/specialized system and Seally could not turn-on or tune-up our A/C but offered a full refund right away. Based on how they handled things, we would highly recommend them.

Awoke the other morning to a non functioning thermostat, I was going to leave a message in the routine answering number but the phone message system was full. I called on Monday and Peter was here that afternoon to put in a new thermostat. Peter came again for this call. He is pleasant and personable and all is back and running. Thank you Sila.

Description of Work: I have been using Sila for almost two years; and, last Fall I purchased a service contract after the annual tune up. In January, I awoke to a freezing house with just a few hours before I had to leave for an all day conference where I was presenting 3 events!! I had about 2.5 hours. I called Sila, explained what ha happened, and they promised to be there within 3 hours; so I arranged to leave a key for the repair person. The truck pulled up as I pulled out of the driveway, and I returned to a warm house that night!! Thanks, Sila!.

Description of Work: For a company to expect to be paid to provide an estimate for their work is the height of arrogance. Do they want the work or not? It is not enough to apply the required fee to the cost of doing the work, should you choose to go with them. Company after company is willing (and eager) to come and talk with potential clients about their recommendations about retrofitting AC into an old house, and they are willing to provide an estimate--without charge. Silas will offer only a free estimate of the cost of the AC condenser, and nothing else. Since the potential cost of a new furnace and new duct work could be the largest portion of such a retrofit, it is absurd to expect potential clients pay to find out what the work might cost. They may do good work once they're there, but who knows? They represent a terrible business practice.

Description of Work: They were the best service company I have ever had dealings with. They fixed a difficult problem with an oil furnace with promptness, intelligence and good cheer. We were so impressed we signed up for a one year 'service contract'.

Description of Work: The company was exceptionally professional from start to finish. First, they called to confirm. Second, they sent a highly competent contractor to perform the routine maintenance of 3 a/c split duct units. He was meticulous; the moment he entered my home he put on paper booties - an unrequested courtesy that was greatly appreciated. He informed me about his findings as he went. I was informed that the dripping out of one unit, although infrequent, was easily explained by its installation - it was not properly leveled. Fortunately, he was able to reassure me that this is not an alarming concern and that I could merely monitor the situation. I will most definitely use them again! Polite, courteous, knowledgeable and professional = rave reviews!

Description of Work: I have a service contract with Silva Heating and Air Conditioning. They have been responsive and call to schedule routine maintenance. On this last visit, it was scheduled in a 2 hour time frame and they called to see if I were home and if it were ok to come a bit earlier. Peter was very professional and was finished in a timely manner. Very happy with the company. I have not had a problem with my system so this was just routine twice a year maintenance.

Description of Work: I called Sila to schedule an install date for the water heater replacement offered in the Big Deal and was kindly told that I needed to provide them my current water heater's serial number and model number and how it it is vented. I called back with the details and we quickly came to the conclusion that the water heater offered would not be suitable and that the cost for fitting a different model would be much higher. They offered the options of sending a plumber for an estimate or refunding the Big Deal. Overall, they were courteous and highly professional. I would consider contacting them for future plumbing needs.
