"Hi [member name removed], BathFitter In Stoneham has no record of doing any work under your name or address. In twenty years in business we have never set a wall on fire so I can say with certainty that you must have us mistaken for another contractor. Thanks Tim"
After signing the agreement: They notified me that the tub design I wanted was not available and I should choose a different one. The new design took a lot more space in the bathroom due to its flared out design.
On installation day: They did the plumbing the day before. The tub installer was very professional and did a good job.
After the dust settled: The tub took more space from the bathroom, yet the capacity was much smaller. The quality and the finish of the tub is very good. The fixtures were of a low quality and the rod started rusting after only 10 days (unfortunately, I cannot use my old fixtures since they took them all with them). Another issue, which as professionals they should have drawn our attention to, is that the soap dish is very big an protrudes too much from the wall. This coupled with the fact that the tub is smaller, makes it a hazard if one is not careful.
The customer service rep was able to find our address and confirm that the tub liner was probably theirs. Water had leaked into the old tub and this needed to be removed. We chose the re-install option, rather than just popping the drain and pushing the old water out. They had someone onsite within a couple of days. The team of two guys put carpets down to minimize foot traffic on the house. They popped the drain and then the entire liner. They cleaned the surface of the old tub and the liner, re-installed and re-sealed it, and then made sure that there was a good seam of silicone on the edges.
24 hours later, the tub is much better than it has been in quite a while.
