Even when I've had to go to a specialist, I always get Spruce Hill's opinion on what the specialist may be recommending. They exude the and quot;first do no harmand quot; statement.
There office is efficient, clean and friendly. I would recommend them to any animal lover.

I have nothing but praise for her care, skill, and compassion - and her candor! When your pup is older and the time is near, as hard as it is, she is HONEST with you. She will look out for your animal's best wellfare their whole life. I personally do not trust easily when it comes to my pets, but I trust Dr. Himmelstein with any one of them. I have highly recommended her to friends that have had the same experiences and opinion as I have.
I plan to relocate soon - and one of my only regrets is not having Doc Himmelstein on speed dial for my furry friends. I wish more veterinarians had her combination of skill and compassion.... we all would be ALOT better off.
"As always, there are two sides to every story. According to the medical records of this visit, Member reported that her dog had been having a problem with its eye, but it was now not causing a problem. I examined the eye, which was not causing any problems at this time, and found that the dog had a condition called entropion, common in its breed and often corrected as the dog matured. I showed her how the dog's lower lid turned in slightly and could potentially rub its eye. I told her that if the eye flared up and caused problems, she could call and I would dispense medication and recheck it at no additional charge when she returned for a follow-up vaccination. It is interesting that when the eye reportedly caused a problem three days later, she did not call but went elsewhere; yet she returned to see me for the vaccination and never mentioned anything when I inquired. In terms of her claim that I mocked another veterinarian, this is not something I would ever do (I work with my husband, also a veterinarian, and we often do not agree!). I did state that I am not aware of any studies that prove that delaying spay until after a heat cycle decrease the incidence of urinary tract infections. I recommended spaying the dog just prior to its heat cycle so that it would have the benefits of primary growth and development, and avoid the inconvenience of living through its estrous cycle."
