Auburn & Son Roofing quoted a new roof for my home, telling me they were using top quality 30 year asphalt shingles and would have to strip the existing 3 roof layers off first. When they found on one side that there was no supporting plywood, he offered to add it for $500 and I know it was costing him nearly that for materials. He also added a ridge vent without questioning or charging because he could see I had no other means of attic ventilation, He added the edge flashing, and flashing around the chimney was properly fitted lead/tin with soldered seams.
