JARDAN MOVERS & MORE

I had previously contacted this mover approximately June 2012 to move the contents of my home from Southwick to Agawam.    He quoted me $600 over the phone.  When he delivered boxes I asked if he wanted to look around to get an idea of what was involved and he stated it wasn't necessary.  This move fell thru due to other circumstances.  In December 2013, I contacted him (Chris) to set up another move for mid-January. He again quoted me $600 for the move.  He delivered some boxes and I asked again if needed to look around & again 'no'.  The move date had changed and I called him 4 times without a return call.  As the move date approached, I still had no confirmation that I was all set for the new date.  I finally received a call back the week prior to the move.  When asked why he didn't return my call, he said 'he returns calls in the order that they were received and he was aware of the new date'.  Maybe he was ok with the date but I had no idea and was in the process of trying to find a different mover.  They showed up at 8 AM as promised and had to make 2 trips due to his lack of planning.  It took them 9 hrs to move me.  At the end of the day, I was presented a bill for over $1200.  I called Chris while the movers were still here & he insisted that the $600 was only an estimate.  He was extremely unprofessional and ended taking $100 off the bill.  I called Chris immediately after the mover's left to ask him to hold the check for a day or so until my deposit cleared the bank.  When I checked my bank statement on the second day, he had deposited the check and caused havoc with my bank acct.  So much for asking him to hold the check.  I have since contacted him regarding some missing items and he has never called me back.  Yes, I know now that I should have received the estimate in writing but he did tell me $600 twice so I guess I chose to trust him.







I also realized after the move that there were many items left in the garage that were not moved.  The person who bought my home ended delivering these to me. 







This guy is a loser.  He does not return calls and if you choose to deal with him... good luck.  Get in in writing.

Jardan Movers were recommended to me by my realtor who had another client who was happy with them. They arrived on time, took care to wrap furniture and dressers, packed it well, and handled everything carefully. The only minor issue was that I had discussed the second stop at my storage with the owner twice, but the movers weren't aware of it when they arrived the day of my move. However, they had no problems making the second stop. Prior to getting the recommendation for Jardan, I called two other movers I had seen on Angies List with A ratings, but neither called me back.

They were supposed to arrive at 1pm but didn't arrive until 6pm (no call; no answer;  no explanation). They moved the furniture adequately, but haphazardly, and when it came to the piana - which was one of the primary reasons we hired movers, they were unable to do it. They said a screw on a leg must be broken, but it didn't help that it was already 8:30pm on a friday night. They said they would call about coming back to finish the job, but we paid them, and won't be hiring them again.

When you call Jardan you speak with Chris, the owner of the company, and Chris is the person who leads your team of movers, and works right along with them. They are beyond competent, and all wonderful, personable, patient guys who go out of their way to help you. They have always worked within their estimate, even when we had special challenges. They're careful, great with your dogs, birds and other livestock, and always have a smile for you. We wouldn't think of calling anyone else.
