His idea was to regrade my yard so that the water would run off a cliff that surrounds my yard, also to extend my retaining walls and to put plastic pipes on my downspouts to run across the yard over the cliff to divert water from being against the house. Sounded great. Smooth talker. Said everything was going to look beautiful. He had my whole yard ripped apart to regrade which was fine. However, it took many phone calls to get him to come back to finish, so my yard was ripped up for two months. His resolve for my retaining walls was to use my cider block (he did not ask permission to use), put in rebar and cemented over. Needless to say that the walls cracked between his new area and the old. In consulting with a mason, the walls will always crack as the wall cannot be extended in this manner. He also broke my sewer pipe used for a downstairs bathroom and denied he did it. He said it was never hooked up and that the water against the house was from that and that my yard stunk. So many lies. (I lived in the house for three years before his work and my yard never stunk of sewage.) He also took the broken sewer pipes and pushed them over the cliff into the woods so now I have this very heavy metal piping stuck in my woods. He also buried all waste materials such as plastic pipe in my yard as pieces were still sticking out when he was done. It took many phone calls to get him back to complete the job and he left all his concrete buckets and waste for me to dispose. It was a horrible nightmare. In the end, my yard did not look 'beautiful'. There is more water retained in my yard than before, he made me pay an extra $500 to fix my sewer pipe or my yard would have been left undone, and my retaining walls live with a crack in them because it would cost me an additional $1600 to have a mason fix them. This case was brought to court, however, the smooth talker he is and the bad judgement of the magistrate, I was only awarded the money I paid to fix the sewer pipe. I was not awarded for the cracked walls. But I guess neither made any difference because Todd Chamberlin will not pay. I have been trying for over three years to collect the money that was awarded to me. I have filed 4 capias orders to get him back to court to pay. He moved from Agawam to Southwick as he tried to avoid the sheriffs department. However, he was found in Southwick and the sheriffs office has given up. All assets are in his wife's name and I cannot ever collect on my judgement. I am out $4,000 for the job, $500 to fix the pipe and $200 in capias orders. $4,700 later, my yard is worse that ever. Please do not hire this man. Again, he talks a very good game and that's why I hired him. He sounds great, but he is unreliable and his work is truly horrible.
