M Reid Blair Home Services

I have used Reid's services on several projects in the past for general repair type work. However, along with that, he has given me a great deal of advice on the real estate market as it applies to each town the property is located in. He also gave my wife and I very detailed information on the town where we eventually ended up buying our main residence. He knows a great deal about schools, traffic, zoning regulations and several other aspects of real estate in a wide area of towns.

He has a particularly good eye, probably from his time as a contractor, toward what type of project would add value to your house for a given area. I recently sold a condo and Reid did some work for me to make it more attractive to buyers and his advice was critical to what I ultimately chose to do.

Reid is a very friendly, educated person and his knowledge of the area makes him an excellent resource for real estate assistance. In addition, his experience with contracting work will allow him to notice good or bad construction issues that could be a huge bonus for a prospective buyer. I would highly recommend him.

He was contentious and careful. He spent a lot of time and had to leave the house twice to get parts for a specializdd situation but he did not complain.

Stablize back deck and add railing. refinish indoor stairs, lay trim/molding in stairwell and basement. We had a poorly built back deck which badly needed stablizing and a new railing. Reid was extremely thorough in laying several new cement foots and cross supporting beams with solid attachments to the supporting structure of the house. Reid really knows his decks. He did fine work on the indoor portion of the job as well.

It went very well. Mr. Blair was easy to talk with. He made intelligent and helpful suggestions. As the work progressed, he kept me informed and gave me options of how to proceed. Because we had no way of knowing how much damage he would have to repair as the exterior wall was opened up, our agreement was for payment by time and materials. I believe that I was more then fairly treated on that score. He did the work in three increments, each longer than the last. That way I could easily judge the time and money expended. Mr. Blair showed up promptly each day of the job. His work was expeditious and neat. He cleaned up promptly. He also coached me on several ways I could do some tasks for myself to follow up on his work. This was a very satisfactory experience.

Hired this provider a few times to work on my parents house. Most recently it was to update a kitchen and bathroom, but had also done deck repair. His prices are very reasonable and I find him to be extremely professional. Great at offering suggestions and finding ways to be cost effective. Also great working with older people. Also coordinated electricians and plumbers for me, but no pressure to use those contractors.
