I stopped going there because one of my dogs has some medication; they only used it if they have to.  They emptied the bottle that I paid for.  They walked the dog and they have play time.  They told me that every day the dog has play time; that dog came over and slept for two days; he never moved because of all the medication it got.  I know I never got the play time for the dog.  I don't think they are a bad place but I think their helpers are why this all happened. They are not cheap and they charge me for everything they do.

First, let me just say that I joined Angie's List for the express purpose of reading more reviews about WIntergreen Kennels. There were a couple out there from a google search, and they were TERRIBLE. There are a couple raves, but those are found on the company's website...so I took them with a grain of salt. But Wintergreen was recommended to me by a friend! I was totally split on this decision, but since the sudden closing of my dog's standby, Dances With Dogs, I was in a bind--so I gave Wintergreen a try for a couple nights over Memorial Day weekend. I am so happy to report that everything went fine. My dog, who usually HATES boarding did absolutely fine. She was not anxious or submissive (trembling, nervous peeing, etc) when I came to pick her up, which unfortunately has been the case at other kennels, hence my ambivalence to board her at a traditional facility in the first place. She was happy to see me, but also (and almost equally) happy to see the front desk staff on her way out! This is a great sign. I will definitely use Wintergreen again in the future. Oh, and I brought her spare bed and it came back fine. (Other reviews mentioned bad experiences in this area, which gave me pause. Now, my experience can be added to the mix.)
Communication with the kennel owners was also good; I appreciated the and quot;report cardand quot; with day-by-day details on eating habits, etc.
I'm very glad I took a chance on Wintergreen Kennels.

We have used Wintergreen's boarding service twice this summer for our 2 dogs. The first time, in May 2012, for about 3 full days, was OK. The 2nd time, from 7/28/12 to 8/4/12 was not good. On the positive side, our dogs were returned to us in good condition. They did not get sick or injured while boarded. However, the rest was bad. When we dropped them off it seemed like we were inconveniencing the people/owners working that morning. We were not permitted to leave our bag of food due to lack of storage. Food bowls too, even their leashes, we had to bring it all with us because we were on vacation. We brought our larger dog's bed and security blanket for comfort reasons, which we always did at the last place we boarded. They took those with our dogs into the kennel area. On pickup day, friends went to get our dogs. Our little dog had not been given Dramamine that morning as instructed, they said they forgot, and she had been fed that morning as well. We had left instructions in writing for them to only be fed in the afternoon and especially not on pickup day. Fiona gets very ill on long car rides. She threw up dog food all of the way home in our friends' car. We also found out that the bed and security blanket had been thrown away early in the week because they had been pooped on. We called the owners to discuss all of this and there were no apologies, the response was that it is their policy to dispose of soiled items.
Our mistake to send our older dog to a kennel with items for his comfort. Surely there is a more compassionate way to handle such situations.

They are very courteous and seem to take good care of my dog. I will use them again.

The people at Wintergreen Kennels are very good. They are excellent. They do a good job. It is easy to get in. They are absolutely wonderful.
