Great, I used something unconventional for pavers and they worked with me and created exactly what I wanted. I had a lot of the work done: dug, prepped and materials already onsite. However I just ran out of steam. George and his team were willing to help me finish the job, make sure everything was pitched properly and level. It only took about a day but their expertise got things done a lot faster than I could have on my own.

Great! They are punctual, precise and care about their work. They spent about a day on the project. Cost is labor only as I had already purchased my block.

They were wonderful to work with, very considerate of our needs, prompt and professional. They were careful to not disturb our lawn and plantings and made what could have been a difficult installation very easy, if not pleasant. I would hire them again in a minute and highly recommend their work.

It went great! Most people who came by to give me quotes were not willing to work with me and were quoting me prices that would typically include all the work I had already done. Better Pathways (George) came in and listened to what I needed, worked within my budget to get done all the things I could not do and then left me in a good position to finish it myself. I know this is not a typical job for them but the nice thing is they did not shy away from just doing what I wanted done rather than having to pretend that I did nothing and start from scratch. My budget was $1500 which gave me about a day and a half of work. Materials were already on the job.

They are terrific. They are absolutely wonderful. They have done work for us since we first had them which was also excellent. The first job was about $5000. Their reliability and the quality of their work stand out to me. They are incredibly personable and incredibly accommodating. They understand what we want. We do not need to be watching over them. Once we explain what we are looking for, they are able to put all the pieces together and get it done. They are very clear about the price and they are a very, very excellent company. I would absolutely use them in a second.

Very good.  They were great all the way around.  Prompt call backs and competitive price.  They were great.  The people will do business with them again.

Terrrific! George and Tim were absolutely professional, came on the dates they set, were here every day at 8 am until completing the job, did exactly what they proposed, charged what the estimate indicated, and did beautiful work. I would definitely hire them again and recommend them to others.

We got several bids from some very decent companies and the prices were all fairly similar but we decided to go with Better Pathways because they were recommended by word of mouth and they were super nice and professional. It is a family-owned business (father/George and son/Tim own it - other son Scott helps out in the summer). George came over twice to
give an estimate and discuss the project before the work started. They stuck to their timeline and did all of the work themselves. They are pretty busy (probably because they are small and really good) so we had to wait for a few weeks - but our patience was rewarded!!
After the research I did for this project I knew that the base underneath the patio was really the key to everything. They really took their time making sure that the base was plenty deep and thoroughly compacted. They took great care with some tree roots they had to cut in the process. We had several drainage concerns and they dealt with them thoughtfully. It is perfectly graded away from our house, level and square where it needed to be and gently curved where we wanted..
And then there's what we can see - the patio itself. The workmanship is truly beautiful! We went with a basketweave brick-style pattern with a soldier course at the curved outer edge. We used CST Holland Classic II in Charleston Blend available from Cook Builders Supply - it's a tumbled paver with a distressed look. We got exactly what we wanted - a patio that matches the character of the house (cottage style) and looks like it's always been there.
After the job, the lawn between our driveway and the patio area was pretty messed up from the traffic. George leveled it out, put down some loam, spread seed and then put hay on top. It's 2 weeks later and the grass is already pretty well-established. We have already had one party on our patio and we look forward to many, many years of relaxing and socializing out there. As I said, we couldn't be happier!
Note: We considered doing a deck instead of a patio and the estimates were almost the same. We are SO glad we went with a patio - and looking forward to a lot less maintenance.

Better Pathways is an outstanding company. George and Tim Labrie worked with us on the design of a complicated, multi-tiered front walk and garden space. They were responsive to ideas, punctual, creative, kind, courteous, careful, and surgically precise with the Bobcat (!). There was grading, Goshen stone wall-building, laying of steps, and the moving of a 3000 pound boulder from our woods to the edge of one wall. They were a dream to work with. We highly recommend them.
