Will never call back or answer emails. Take forever for them to finish the promised work. Agreed appointments will be canceled several times and not rescheduled...but then people will show up unannounced.

The estimate was inflated, the sales and service team is unprofessionally slow in response, the final work didn't pass the inspector. Worse experience in my life. Don't waste your time and money.

My experiences with “Murphy’s Air Conditioning, Heating and Plumbing”are the worst that I have had with any contractor or vendor in my 73 years. 1.They presented their package as an integrated “system.” Far from it: it has proven to be a haphazard collection of units from different manufacturers that don’t work together properly. After numerous complaints from me, they announced that they could fix the problems by replacing one or more components, but only if I paid for the replacements to the tune of $5,000 or so over and above what the original system cost!!! 2.In November, the heat pump unit failed. The technician said it was a “bad board,” took it out and said someone would be back in “a day or two” to replace it with one “back in the shop” SIX MONTHS LATER, I have NOT heard A WORD from the company about fixing the heat pump! When I called, I was told that someone would get back to me. No one ever did! 3.I was promised from the day I signed the contract that by the time the “system” was installed, someone would teach me how to use it. But MORE THAN A YEAR LATER, they have NEVER actually come to do the training! So I am still flying blind. 4.I was told several times that after everything was in place, I would be offered a maintenance contract that would include annual inspections/ maintenance/etc. But MORE THAN A YEAR LATER, this has NOT happened! 5.I was told that when the installation was done, they would “balance the system.” MORE THAN A YEAR LATER, they have NEVER done so. So this winter, the living room has been running 64-66 degrees while the rest of the house is at 70. I spend a lot of time in the living room. 6.Murphy’s was required to remove the old oil furnace and the oil tank from the basement once the old system was shut down for good - which was 16 MONTHS AGO and they STILL have no removed them!!! There were a bunch of other “minor” problems during the YEAR-LONG installation (started in June 2020!!) that I am ignoring (for now).

Very professional service. Work completed in a timely manner. 2 months later we had a small leak from a drain that was clogged. Murphy’s not only stood behind their work and fixed it the next day, they hired a painter and had the entire ceiling painted so there would be no marks. We have 2 units in our house. When the other one has to be replaced in a few years, I will definitely hire them.

Gary, Edison and Gabe were wonderful to work with. Gary was very responsive and provided answers to our many questions. Edison and Gabe worked many long days and hard but our basement looks so neat and clean and the system works like a charm. We are planning on having Murphy's install new dryer vents to bring them up to code as well as replacing 3 outside vents that are rusted and not functioning well. Highly recommend Murphy's. we will have an annual service with them forever.

They give good service. They're a large organization. They do both plumbing and heating. I've used them for both things on occasion. They're responsive and punctual.

They installed it in 100 degree plus weather, and they had to carry it up 3 flights of stairs. I felt so bad for them. They were very professional, very confident. A lot of their workers are Brazilian, I believe, so they don't speak a lot of English, but that's okay because they work very hard and do a good job.

Credit card on file was always charged before sending an invoice to allow payment. Charges were always more than explained. Maintenance contract was higher than competition. Accounting was a nightmare! Couldn't get a warrantied item that was supposed to be covered off of my charges after 5 months of attempts!

Earlier they were a small company and now they merged themselves under Murphy. They are excellent. I would give them A+. I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation. They upgraded our whole system and they did a beautiful job. I am yet to know whether they continue to maintop the same standards under Murphy.

I had to constantly follow up on the work and had to have them come back several times to complete the work as contracted.

I was very disappointed with the lack of detail.

The installers did not follow the installation as requested on the contract

When I paid them in the 3 installments as contracted they had not entered the payments into their system and I had to supply them twice with copies of the checks that they had cashed.

Too much aggravation and time spent on my part to use them again

Various workers were professional and thorough. The manager was hard to get a hold of, didn't return calls and slowed up the job considerably. I liked this group but it was very frustrating.

I had used Souza's for many years, both on the installation and service for my central air and ductless split air unit. Souza's was fantastic.
Murphy's came along a few years ago and subsumed several smaller companies, including Souza's.
It's been a rough transition as Murphy's appeared to struggle with the enormous consolidation and increase in customer bases, service areas, employees, etc. Symptoms included un-returned phone calls, no-show service calls, novice workers. But they seem to be working through their kinks and I'm willing to stick with them.
They appear to be stabilizing and trying to stay on top of things and do right for their customers. They've always been very nice to deal with and everyone I've dealt with --(except for one young fellow last year who was very nice but kind of sloppy)-- has conveyed knowledge of what they are doing, professionalism, competency, and honesty - important qualities in a business which can help smooth over the other bumps along the way. I would recommend them.
At the end of the day, what's most important is that the equipment receives good care and is maintained in good running condition; and that is what they have continued to do for me.

I'm so mad I could spit! I consider this an outrageous overcharge. We supplied the fixture. Was told the bill would be $139. The worker took 30 minutes and also charged a "diagnostic fee" of and 74 which he did not tell me about in advance - I would have stopped him right there. What diagnostic? I told them we needed to change the faucet fixture in the bathroom, there was nothing to diagnose! This was in our little Chapel and I felt that they must have thought we were a rich congregation which we are definitely not (we are about 20 old people most over 75!) I will not use them again, nor will I recommend them to anyone. What really upsets me is that our favorite and very good plumber, Phil Kimber, is now working for them and he is wonderful!

Murphy's is very responsive. Routine furnace and A/C work done properly. Furnace repair necessary. Waited a bit for a part, but then the repair went well.

I was impressed that they were able to come to the house the very next day after calling for an appointment. I was a bit disappointed that they did not have the part that was needed in stock and had to be ordered. It took almost two weeks for the part to be delivered. I called after one week since I thought they had forgotten about me. I couldn't help but feel that they forgot to order the part because it still took almost a week after I called for the part to be delivered. Once the part was finally delivered they came out and fixed the unit and did a great job. They are very professional and I'm happy with the quality of their work.

The service man arrived on time and I explained and showed him what I wanted done. He asked a few questions to make sure he understood and began to work. At the end of the job he removed all materials including the old toilets and asked me to review his work and asked if I was satisfied.

We are new (vacation) homeowners in a town that we do not know very well. One Friday at 5:00 p.m., on a day when the temperature was literally 100 degrees, our air conditioning stopped working. We contacted the person who built the house and asked him if he could recommend someone to repair the problem and he said he would try, although he admitted that he was not very familiar with HVAC companies that specialized in servicing, as opposed to building, homes. After an hour or so, I decided that I needed to try and find someone. Again, though, I did not know anyone to contact. We first looked in the local yellow pages, but it was impossible to tell from just the listings who was good and, equally important to us, who was actually local to/near our home.Having heard of Angie's List, I decided to check it out. After reviewing what it supposedly had to offer, I joined, albeit somewhat skeptically.Within, literally, a matter of minutes, I was able to identify two highly "rated" companies located minutes from my house. I called both companies and, in less than ten minutes, received return phone calls. One of the companies who called said that it was booked solid for a week, but wanted me to know that they appreciated the call from me and did not want me to think that they had ignored the call. I thought that was incredibly professional and, as too often goes unsaid, just nice. The other company, the company about which I write ultimately, Murphy's Air Conditioning, Heating and Plumbing, was remarkable.First, as I said, I received a call back almost immediately. Second, the caller, Matt, was direct, clear and highly professional. He told me that he would absolutely come out to look at the problem but that he had three other systems to check first. He then told me the approximate time he would be at my house, and promised to call me during the evening with updates on his timing. He did exactly as promised, keeping in touch with me as the night progressed and, ultimately, came out to my house and fixed the problem. While he was out my house, he was equally professional, going so far as to put cover slips on his shoes so as to not track dirt in the house. When he left, my system was working properly and, quickly, the house cooled down.I was so impressed that I hired Murphy's on the spot to be my full time service/maintenance company. It was an absolutely remarkable performance generally, let alone under the conditions of the moment. Thanks so much to Angie's List and to Murphy's...for getting me what turned out to be a good night's sleep.

The service was performed just as described in a very professional manner from start to finish. It was explained in great detail with fabulous mathematical charts explaining air flow dynamics with our hot air heating system duct work which the air conditioning system would be sharing. The explanations were down to earth so that we understood why the additional duct work was needed and Horsepower and they were completely correct. We are thoroughly pleased with the result these six years later. Each year we have the system maintained by their technician to keep it running correctly. Again, Souza's people are professional in promptness and attention to details.
