BOBS PLUMBING

Bob responded quickly to my pre-Christmas call during a busy time. He came on time did what was required to finish and was very professional. He did a fine job overall.

I called Bob Friday afternoon about replacing a water heater. He gave a rough estimate of 700 and said he could come over the next morning between 7 & 7:30 to give an actual estimate. The next day was Saturday and I thought it was great he was coming over on a weekend and early at that. He stressed 7-7:30 because he liked to get up and get going early which was fine by me. At 8:30am on Saturday he called me and said "what time would you like me to come over?" (W**!) I said immediately and he then asked me "how long will it take me to get there?". I have no idea where he's coming from so how the heck should I know. He shows up a little later and starts shooting out estimates 1200, 2600 , 4k for a used "superstore" . Now I'm no plumber so I've no idea what a superstore is and I wouldn't pay 4k for a used one. I told him to give me written estimates on all models and I'd go from there. He agreed and took down my email address and said he would hear from me on Monday. That was 3 weeks ago a I've not heard from him since.

As a first time homebuyer with no knowledge of plumbing maintenance, I was in need of a plumber ASAP to address the issue in our shower unit. I called Bob on a Thursday and he came out the same day to assess. When he came back a few days later to do the work, he not only fixed our issue, he took the time to explain exactly what the issues around this problem were. He resolved this issue and was able to assist us with another minor plumbing need that afternoon. He is honest and his work right on. I feel a lot of relief that we have found someone who can assist when the need arises.

Bob came the same day (Wednesday) I called him and he gave me an estimate and a date he could do the work. I was waiting for 2 other estimates so I did not give him the job on the spot. One plumber never called me back and the other gave me a $200.00 estimate over the phone. I called Bob back on the following Monday to tell him I would like him to do the work and figured since it had been 5 days since he gave me the estimate it would probably have to wait until the next week, but no, Bob was here on Wednesday and performed the work as requested. I definatley will call Bob's Plumbing for all of our plumbing needs in the future.

I tried to find a plumber who would cite a fixed charge and not tack on travel time based on wherever their previous job happened to be. Bob was referred by my carpenter, gave a specific time he would be here, and did the job for a flat price. The store delivery crew refused to install the washer because they said the drain was covered. Bob pointed out that it's covered in all new construction, so he did the job at the last minute after the delivery people flaked out.
