I was away on vacation and I contacted the gentleman. They honored the discount. Everything was good.

Looked online for firewood delivery. Saw that these folks were highly rated here, so I sprung for 1/3 cord from GMFirewood, even though it looked like it was more expensive than their competition (I'd seen quotes that averaged $300 for 1/2cord delivered, but not stacked). The final price, with a rack (more on that later) was $480. I paid with paypal on wednesday morning. I was hoping this delivery fee would cover the work of carrying it up the steps to the rack outside our front door, which is roughly 15' off the sidewalk. It seems GMFirewood wants to be sort of a subscription service. The first delivery comes with a rack (that they reserve the right to take back if you cancel), and subsequent deliveries fill that rack as you reorder. I presume that this is why the first delivery costs an extra $100 over the price of a reorder. At any rate, they called on Friday at noon, saying they were ready to come over (thankfully I was home), but that they apparently charge an extra $5 per step they have to climb. Rather than pay an extra $120 over the already high price to get it stacked on the porch, I told them to stack it under the porch on the ground floor. They set up a rack (one of these: [*** Link removed ***] and had the wood stacked in under an hour... Then they charged my wife an extra $35 for the 7 steps up to the house off the sidewalk (in fairness, they mentioned this fee on the phone, but I didn't think they'd actually bother to charge it for a mere 7 steps), bringing the total expense to $515 for 1/3 cord. On later evaluation, I found out that a coworker had 1/2 cord delivered (not stacked) for $300 from McCues in Woburn, and that other places around here charge around $350 for 1/2 cords... Which means, for the amount of wood we got (as well as the stacking and the rack which we don't own), we ended up paying literally 250% the price of the competition. The rack and stacking was handy, but I'm not convinced it was worth the extra $300. I'm mostly taking this as a lesson learned. I might use them again, as subsequent orders are $100 cheaper, but I'm thinking I'll look into the competition a bit more first next time. Even $100 cheaper would seem to still be $100 more expensive than the competition for the quantity.

This group is very punctual at getting back to you as well as delivering the firewood. They also take the time to stack the wood and make sure everything is done quickly and clean. This is the second time I have used this group and I will continue to use them every year.

I have been using GM Firewood now for 2 years, when I come up to live in the Boston area from November through January for my job. They have provided me with superior dried kiln dried firewood - no green wood - and it burns very well because it is hardwood, and not any soft wood mixed in with it. Kiln Dried wood is in short demand this winter, by GM Firewood makes sure you get what you need, when you need it.

Excellent. Wood is clean, split and cut to appropriate size. They also included a fair amount of smaller thinner pieces that we use as kindling.

They arrived and neatly stacked the wood. Have never had a bad delivery... Always dried and seasoned ready to use. Even got it there before Christmas.

They delivered the wood on the day they said they would. Have always been very pleasant and professional. I think the delivery fee is a bit high but the wood is always nice, dry and ready to burn.

A high level of customer service seems to be GM Firewood's stock and trade.
Shortly after placing my order, I received a follow-up e-mail indicating that they'd be in touch in a few days to arrange delivery. Sure enough, Didi called late in the week and arranged to deliver the firewood at noon on Tuesday, 12/17.
At almost exactly 12:00 noon, the crew from GM firewood arrived and quickly and competently stacked my 1/3 cord of firewood. They even used a scrap piece to shim one end of the firewood stand.
I'll be ordering my firewood from GM going forward. The price point may be a little on the high side, but the firewood quality is great - and the customer service is above & beyond!

Was concerned initially because paid in full on Fri 11/29 and was told by Peter via online confirmation of payment and communication that the next step would be in touch with us "shortly"...after the schedule for following week was established. Didn't hear anything by Tues morning 12/3, so called and left a voicemail with name & number asking for a call back to confirm delivery day/time so I could make other plans. No response to vmail by Thur morning 12/5, so called again - but now their vmail was full so I couldn't leave another message. Finally got a call back Thurs afternoon 12/5 saying our delivery was scheduled for Sat 12/7 at 12:00. Person calling (Dee Dee) was pleasant to deal with - but did sound busy.
Delivery truck arrived early at 11:00 on Sat, which was fine since I had told Dee Dee someone would be home all day so exact timing wasn't a problem. The two delivery guys were also pleasant to deal with and very efficient. The wood was put exactly where we wanted it. The ground was more uneven than we realized, so one of the guys used a couple of pieces of wood like shims under the rack to carefully stabilize it before very neatly loading up the rack they provided with the wood. From arrival to departure it only took 30 minutes to set up the stand and then stack the entire cord of wood.
So did deliver within the week they promised, despite the initial radio silence at the front end of the process. As constructive feedback, perhaps we have a different definition of "shortly" in terms of the follow-up regarding the delivery date/time, so being more specific on when we would be contacted would be helpful. Would also suggest more timely response to voicemails, even if it's a quick call to confirm the vmail was received and to let us know still working on the scheduling.
We were happy with the actual delivery and setup, so we will most likely reorder from GM in the future assuming the wood burns well. The wood does appear to be good quality - it seems dry and is uniform in size. $395 total price we paid that included not only the rack to hold the full cord wood, but also the delivery charge is very good compared to other places we checked out - especially since the wood was being delivered from the North Shore to our home on the south side of Boston.
12/11/13 Update: We've made a couple of fires now and the wood burns great, so we'll be ordering from them again.

It is good I love it. They have good, quality wood and they stack it when they come.

The guys who delivered and stacked the firewood were prompt, nice, and very professional. The product itself is great, and the wood burns extremely well.
The only complaint I have is that I was quoted $295 for the service due to the Angie's List deal waiving the rack fee. However, after the wood was delivered and stacked, the guys told me the cost was $325. They tried to call the owner (Peter?), but he did not answer.
I chalk this up to an error in communication. I do not believe that it was in any way intentional. However, it would be nice if the delivery personnel had a record of all quoted prices so these types of things do not occur.
Regardless, it's a good company and the owner seems like a genuinely good guy. I'll use GM again i the future.
12/9/2013: The owner of the company was notified of the discrepancy in the price quoted and the price paid and refunded the $30. Not only do they provide an excellent product; they are also very ethical and honest. I cannot recommend GM Firewood enough.
