MERRY MAIDS CLEANING SERVICE

More often than not, two out of three showers did not get cleaned. They did the quick basics, mirrors, counter tops and folded the end of the toilet paper pretty. The floors were always hit or miss. One time I found a pile of dirt that had been swept but not picked up. I have also noticed things still on the floor, in the same place (hair ties, a paper clip) in the same place on the floor even after they supposedly cleaned. I have only had 2 woman from there, and do not want to make a blanket statement about all of their employees, but I was not impressed with what I had. Also, a lot of money for little work.

They come when they say. They are efficient. All the different cleaners they have sent are very nice and I feel like I can trust them in my house. My husband thinks they are expensive.

As I said above the work went very well and was accomplished quickly.  The cleaners were pleasant and courteous.  I gave them a general idea of what I wanted done and they started work right away and didn't have to ask any questions.

I have been calling to find a new cleaning service and scheduled an initial appointment with Merry Maids for today (7/26/12) at 11:00. They called last night and cancelled!  Said they would "keep my name on file".  This leaves a very bad impression with me because I told them I needed someone to come clean in the next few days and they led me to believe this was possible.  What I don't understand is why they cancelled the initial consultation - no cleaning was going to be done, we were just going to see what it would cost and go over the particulars.  Complete nonsense.  I do NOT recommend them because the way I was treated was very unprofessional.
I gave just an estimate of the cost, but do not know how much it would have been because I did not have the initial consultation or the cleaning!

They did a lousy job.  They sweetened the initial first time cleaning proposal with a discounted amount (the initial price they said would be something like $500 to $700 for our 4 bedroom house) equal to the regular ongoing fee of about $150 or so for a bi-weekly cleaning, but it came with the condition that we contract with them for seven to eight cleanings.  It seemed like a no-brainer at the time (right?) but it definitely was a mistake as when they came that first time, and all the other times, they did a horrible job.  They left out a ton, even the basics including wiping down the glass slider door in our family room to emptying trash cans and so much more.  We had to call them back a number of times, and each time we would get an apology, the cleaners would return, and even then it still was hardly done to satisfaction.  We really felt scammed.
Absolutely do not go with this company if you can help it.  You'll be very sorry you did.

They were pretty punctual and professional.  They showed up when they said they would.

Over time, their cleaning job has gotten worse and worse. I feel like we are spending a lot of money for two people to only take an hour. I don't like using Merry Maids, but there are few other options in my area without knowing someone personally. And other people with good house cleaners don't share their information for fear someone will steal their house cleaner from them.

The floor was not adequately cleaned the first time and they missed window frames. I called back and they returned but after the second attempt, the floor was still dirty. I also noted a couple weeks later that under the stove had not been touched. I made three attempts to contact the owner via the business phone and personal cell but she did not call back.
