Derrick Clepp of Urban Tree Removal quoted the job and acted as a general contractor. He quickly identified the need for a crane as the safest and more cost effective way of removing the tree. The job was done across three days by separate crews and each showed up on time and worked quickly at their respective task (Cut, Haul, Stump Grind). I selected this service provider because Derrick's willingness to inspect the scope of the job personally and cost. My neighbor and I had work done on the same day and we shared the cost of the crane and police detail. Urban Tree Removal provided the best discount for the combined jobs and that is what sealed the deal for me. The cutting and grinding crews each left the site swept clean (air blowers) and timber neatly stacked for pickup. The stump grinder did an execellent job grinding not only the remains of the trunk but the surrounding roots as well to a depth of a foot below grade. I know because I spent my Saturday putting in a raised flower bed in its place and I did not encounter any roots or stump reminents. Everything was ground into tiny pieces and the area was easy to shovel. Overall I would do business with Urban Tree Removal again and would recommend them to my friends and family without hesitation.

It, overall, went very well. Mr. Clapp also pointed out a tree to me that could do a lot of damage to our house if it ever fell (it leans toward our house and is huge). I did not get the impression he was "looking for more work", he was simply pointing out a safety issue which I really appreciate. Some people do what they are here for and don't point out other things they see. I have had this happen and thought, after the fact, "why didn't that other company tell me that while they were here?" I had a friend visiting and she was also very impressed with their professionalism, they thanked me at least twice! Mr. Clapp also said he would get back to me about the other tree as it will need a lot more help taking down (will need a crane) and he will have to have that person take a look at it before he can give me an estimate. I would recommend this company to other people, in fact my friend that was here said she will ask me for their name when she needs them in the future.
