We have used Ecco HVAC over the past few years. The company is outstanding. Steve I believe the co owner is unbelievability knowledgeable, fair and honest. Steve is OUTSTANDING. When was the last time a HVAC Tech told you an item is still good. If I were you I would hold off replacing it. Additionally the companies office manager "Debbie" is excellent. Always friendly with 100 % follow through. It gives me pleasure to write this review and would whole heartily recommend the company!

Long story short, did not spend the proper time investigating the issue. Immediately went into salesman mode and said we needed a brand new condenser and air handling unit. Didn't even go into he crawlspace and look at the air handler. We called another company who came in and fixed the issue properly. Airflow issue was the end result. A coil was dirty. Saved myself $8K not using them

All Ecco HVAC Representatives we're consistently reliable, dependable, friendly, conversive, and professional. Due to an issue with one of the new outside AC condensors, and the need to make some modifications in the house to accommodate the new equipment, the technicians were at the house a number of times seeking to work through the issues to both their and our satisfaction. They were quite persistent in this regard and clearly wanted to provide the best service possible. This was greatly appreciated and they did an excellent job. They were always on time, cleaned up, communicated well, and remained in a positive, friendly, and patient frame of mind regardless of any concern that arose. They put forth an effort and resolve to deal with any issues that was above and beyond what we have experienced in the past with other companies, and the results clearly reflected that effort. Everything is functioning well, and no more low-level Co emissions. In addition, their office did the paperwork to register the new equipment with the companies for us, and also assisted with a rebate on one of the furnaces. Look no further.... Ecco HVAC is the way to go.

I contacted Ecco HVAC through the Angie's List portal after hours to request service on my HVAC system. I received a response letting me know that a tech would be out the next day and I would be receiving a call in the morning to confirm. As stated, I received the call and the tech arrived within the time window given. The technician quickly diagnosed the problem, fixed it with the required parts and called me to explain what caused the issue and that it was up and running. Very professional and courteous service. I am the owner of a residential remodeling firm and I am frequently asked for recommendations of service providers for services that I do not perform. I am pleased to know that I have a local HVAC firm that I can confidently refer to my clients. Thanks very much and keep up the excellent work!

We are selling our home. Buyer's inspector flagged lower level furnace as a safety hazard. 18-year old "builder's special" furnace was on its way out. We decided replacement was the best option so as not to scare off our buyer. Technicians came the next day. Used existing venting to save money, but extended exterior pipes to comply with current building codes. Installed CO2 detector and new digital thermostat in order to make the most of the more efficient unit. Gave us Angie's list discount without even asking. Cleaned upstairs unit at no cost and did not charge for first service call. Next day, received pre-filled GasNetworks rebate form and product registration form via email. Very pleased!

I am pleased with the service. My call was answered promptly by someone who sounded professional, understood my queries, and obtained answers swiftly. They first offered to schedule me soon but then found they could actually fit me in same-day and hurried to make arrangements so that could occur. The tech was quiet (which my pets appreciated), respectful, thorough, tidy, and efficient. The total cost was happily less than I had expected (due to my misunderstanding of one itemization in the original quote, not their error). They were able to take credit or check.

You could not ask for a better HVAC company to deal with. They were very responsive and came out quickly to assess the problem with my AC during a heat wave. They had the replacement up and running within a day. The price was VERY reasonable considering the amount of work and new equipment required. I am able to rest assured that my tenants' comfort will be assured in all seasons. I am completely confident in the team at ECCO HVAC. Kudos to Deb Woodside for being available to answer questions and address my concerns.

I will be a life long customer! This company was professional and efficient. My A/C went as the summer heat started. I called a few places and no one ever called back. My aunt mentioned Ecco. She noticed that is was very close to my home, but unsure if they were only servicing commercial clients. When I called, I learned that they work with both residential and commercial clients. I read a few of their reviews on Angie's list and felt good about contacting them. After speaking with Deb, their administrative assistant, they come out almost immediately to assess the situation. and quickly learned that my compressor was gone. One of the owners, Jim, came to my home next business day to give me an estimate. By Thursday, I had a not only a working AC and heating system, but an updated thermostat and a fantastic warranty on the product. Ecco was everything I had hoped for and more. Deb is fantastic and will work with the customers to help them get what they need. She is the friendly voice on the other end of the phone and the guys were fantastic. I had both owners at my home to be sure the work was done right and they gave me a fair deal on my product and honored the 5% discount for being an Angie's list member. I have passed along their information to all of my neighbors and to a contractor doing work on a home next door. I won't work with anyone else but Ecco...they are wonderful company.

Steve and another guy came right on time and were very friendly and down to earth. They went right to work inspecting the central A/C unit, keeping me appraised of their progress at every step. Steve gave me detailed analysis of why the central A/C was not functioning upstairs. He let me know he could try to replace the motor and it might go another year, but as the system is 20 years old and due to the information he provided I was able to say motor replacement with an approximate cost of $600-$800 was not the way to go. I was able to come to this decision with no pressure or pushing from Steve. His easy going nature and attention to detail were great.

It was great.  The whole process was explained when they came to do the initial quote.  They were very professional and made sure to clean up after themselves when the job was done.  I was eligible to apply for energy rebates and was not sure how to go about it and they were very helpful with that whole process.  My basement is now more comfortable because it is warmer and the dehumidifier will make it much more comfortable in the hot & humid summer months.

Our experience from quoting to installation was excellent.
I dealt with two of the company partners, Jim Mather and Steve Ciccio. Jim provide the quote and he was very helpful explaining the equipment details and installation process. Steve was at the front of the installation with the help of Freddy (his crew) - the installation was not a cookie cutter but they surely overcome every hurdle during the two days process.

The tech worked approx an hour to discover i have a faulty part. During that time, he was testing all of the components of the furnace and troubleshooting to conclude with the correct diagnosis. The part was unavailable and being a weekend, I was told I will be contacted Monday morning, after 8:00 AM. This company has been to my home before and has always extended the utmost in professionalism and detailed knowledge. The communication is easy and very respectful. Before leaving my home, the tech explained what the situation was and took the time to share his findings with me in an easy to follow explanation, which was appreciated. (the cost was n/a because i have a service contract through the gas company's protection plan)

Original Review: From the top down, Ecco was great. Jim (the sales guy) was very informative and prompt to reply. The team that was sent out was very professional and made sure they got it right the first time. It took about a day and a half to install, which seemed about the right amount of time.

Update:  Whoa, what a nightmare dealing with Ecco has become.  The problems with the installation became apparent when my contractor noticed the drain pipe for the unit was dripping on top of an outside sconce and electrical outlet.  My old unit used to use the gutter for the unit drip but Ecco drilled a hole through the soffit and installed the drip over the sconce and the outlet.  I called Ecco and they agreed to fix the problem.  Fixing the problem i assumed would be running it into the gutter but instead they ran a piece of 1 inch PVC pipe down the side of my house onto the ground.  I came home saw it and it looked like like crap (and it also cost me another $120 bucks).  I called again and said that they should have run it down behind the drain pipe if they couldn't put it in the gutter.  Jim agreed and sent someone over to move it.  At this point I figured what else could go wrong... well apparently a few more things.  

I woke up in early September to a gigantic water stain on my bedroom ceiling.  After investigating I noticed that the drip pan for the A/C was overflowing onto my bedroom ceiling.  Once again I contact Jim. He agrees that it should have been installed with an overflow sensor that would kill the A/C when the drip pan was full.  This time it takes like a day or two to get back to me and he says I'll be out there Thursday or Friday AM.  I email him back and say what time Thursday and then... Radio silence.  He never followed up and didn't come out. At this point I'm just debating paying someone else to come and fix it.  I ended up contacting him again basically saying I'm home all day today come and send someone to fix it.  He does but the guy doesn't have the part on hand.  Ecco's worker comes back the next day at 5pm to install the overflow sensor (I actually like this guy because he came out past regular working hours to fix it).  The next day I turn on the A/C and it doesn't work.  I contact Jim and once again radio silence.  I decide to go and look myself to find out that the sensor was tied into a kill switch and the kill switch was on. After i shut it off the unit is now working properly.

Here's the gist of the story, if the price seems too good to be true for an A/C replacement it probably is.  This is probably the worst customer service I have ever experience with any company.

We knew our furnaces were nearing their end and when one started turning off due to overheating we called Ecco. They were honest enough to show us how to reset the furnace and gave us some tips on avoiding the overheating and mentioned it would be wise to plan on replacing it at some point. We never felt like it was pushed on us or needed to be done immediately. We had them take a look at both furnaces and got a quote to replace them both to avoid them failing next winter.
We spoke to Jim and other members of the team over the next few days to move forward with the install and less than a week later they had everything organized and good to go. They replaced both furnaces over the course of two days, installed new duct work to help with the distribution of air and swapped out the old thermostats. The cleaned up after they were done and took the time to go over everything to make sure we understood the new system before leaving. They even offered to come back out in the fall to take a look at everything to make sure all was well before the winter without any additional charges.
I'll be recommending them to friends and will be calling them when it comes time to swap out our AC units.
