Over the years, I have work with many contractors and Bill Whalen and his team were amongst the very best. The work was professional and of the highest quality. They were extremely organized from the get go and stayed on schedule throughout the project. They stayed in good and clear communication for the duration of the project and were a pleasure to work with. They paid attention to the smallest details and kept the work site clean and organized. I could not have been more pleased with the outcome! I highly recommend them and would use them again in a minute. No hassles, no worries and beautiful results!

Can't say enough good things about Whalen Restoration. We had a water leak that caused some significant ceiling damage with only 3 working days left before our next renters were arriving at our home over the weekend. Bill and his Team jumped right on things and resolved our issues well ahead of the renters' check-in time. The work was completed both professionally and competently. We highly recommend Whalen for any and all emergency issues. They will forever be our go to.

Lots of humidifies and fans to dry out the house. Dump outside. 2 bedrooms, bathroom and basement stripped to 2x4 . Floors stripped. Wet/damaged things were put into black garbage bags in the garage. Clear bags contained reusable good. Waiting on estimate for replacement,

The ultimate product was lovely and well done. Mitigation was done immediately but the reconstruction was finished a year and a half later even though it could have been done in about 3 months. The contractor was unresponsive to any attempt at contacting them to find out what the plan or schedule was. They never called back. When we were told to email instead of calling, we tried this and they rarely responded to email either. On the plus side, when they did the work, it was of high quality.

Whalen did a great job in emergency cleanup when kitchen pipes burst, flooding the basement and releasing steam everywhere. They came promptly and did a fast, effective, professional job of cleanup and dryout. Helped us work with the insurance company - they are very skilled at that kind of thing. Highly recommended them for emergency remediation.
Not so good in terms of what came after - reconstruction. They are a full-service firm with a set way of doing things: their own. This may be good if you want your contractor to take total control and you just make decisions about the fun stuff within they give you. That didn't work for us. We wanted more control than that. Our cost questions were annoying to Whalen (e.g. what happens to the cost if we get cheaper X and more expensive Y?). We didn't like cost allowances (e.g. for kitchen appliances) and being steered to working with certain providers (e.g. kitchen cabinet dealers) - we wanted to decide those things for ourselves. What broke the camel's back was when it took 3 weeks to get a simple question answered ("how does cost change if we get a different color of cabinets") because the provider would talk only to Whalen, not to us (!), and Whalen forgot to call us to pass along the info - they have bigger fish to fry. Ridiculous. We ended up leaving Whalen for the reconstruction and hiring a smaller contractor who was a dream to work with: competent, responsive, happy to let us control the purchasing decisions. For not much more money, we were able to get a lot more work done (a bonus bathroom remodel). Conclusion: Whalen good for hands-off types, not for people who like more control over how the work is done.

The workers were helpful, trustworthy, personable. They were also reliable and consistent. The same repairmen did all of the work from installing wall board to taping joints to painting. We never had to wait for a different crew. The job was brought to completion within a very short time. Our consideration was apparent throughout the process. The work was excellent.

Service was excellent. I called answering service at 7 am and got a return call in five minutes. I explained the water heater had leaked and I had turned the water off so I did not need someone immediately. They arrived at 8 am and started the cleanup which took all morning. Left fans and dehumidifiers to dry things out. Returned the next day to check on the moisture in the walls (there was none) and then came back three days later to remove their equipment. Very professional and prompt. I will definitely use them again if the need arises!

From the moment we contacted Whalen and worked with Mike Raymond, then
John Baylis, as well as Bill Whalen and everyone in the office, things started
to happen. Since we were not at the property at the time, Mike and John
sent photos and telephoned us frequently with updates and progress. The repairs
were done expertly and in a timely fashion.
The new hardwood floors and refinished existing floors, as well as the
repairs done to the walls and garage and basement floor turned out beautifully.
We are also immensely grateful that you were able to come back and finish up
the basement floor (after we had eradicated a water issue) before we were
arriving for our vacation, just prior to welcoming tenants for the upcoming
rental season. All in all, the
restoration experience was relatively painless, thanks to Whalen Restorations.

Like most people who get news that their home is flooded I thought to myself, "How am I going to do this?" I got a call later in the day from the Wellfleet fire department telling me that the house was secured and that I should call a restoration company as soon as possible. They gave me two names and I called Whalen Restoration Services in Dennis, MA. It was Sunday, and I was driving back to Bedford, VA from a Memorial Day trip to DC with my son and his wife. I got Jim Ellis on the phone who said he would take care of the emergency situation right now and get back to me with more details. Within a couple of hours Jim got back to me and told me that he had two men on the job who would start the process of pumping out the water and drying out the basement (on Sunday? Yes on Sunday). Since I am a praying man I thanked God for connecting me to such a seemingly competent guy. Little did I know.
I returned to Wellfleet a few days later to survey the damage. It was a total loss. Over the next weeks and months Whalen Restoration Services, under the excellent management of Jim Ellis and a top notch crew of demolition people and builders, cleaned out and inventoried all the furnishings in the basement, tore out all the wet walls and floors, dried out the basement, and coached me through the complete restoration of my house.
The basement before the flood was fully finished and I was able to work out a restoration plan with Whalen Restoration Services that allowed me to make some minor adjustments to the floor plan resulting in the space being better laid out and more functional than ever. Each step along the way Jim and his team continued to communicate with me on their progress, consulting with me on options for finish items like floor tile color, trim and paint color, door placement, and other small details that turned a functional basement into an awesome basement. I couldn't be more pleased with the way it all turned out. The quality of service and workmanship from day one to the final sign off was world class.

:Whalen provided emegency services when building was struck by a car. Temporary repairs were accomplished almost immediately, with virtually no loss of operating time. The rebuilding was completed several months later after succesful negotiations with insurance carrier. The process was very seamless as Whalen worked well with adjusters. The repairs involved some custom fabrication which was accomplished flawlessly. I was kept up to date constantly during the progress and checked with to insure work was up to expectations. I was happy with all aspects of the repair

I have used them only once. They were very, very responsive. The heating pipe let go and the whole interior of the house was ruined. They came in and took everything out. I contracted them to rebuild the house. Most of the cost was covered by insurance.
