 + -1 moreKen was very professional and very good at what he does, he also helps get stuff done with other contractors such as gas company and oil tank removers on short notice. Everything he recommended has worked perfectly and the installation job was very detailed and done right. Him and his son take pride in their work and do quality work. he's on the top of my list of people to call for any hvac or plumbing work.

Description of Work: We have used Kalinowski Mechanical a number of times for large and small projects between January, 2011 and recent months, and have always been pleased. We bought a house with a very old heating system and got multiple bids on an oil-to-gas conversion, new water heater, and adding heat to the basement. The bid was competitive and the work was done as scheduled, efficiently, and with good communication and thorough clean-up. The project cost was 12-13K. Since then we have called Ken or Brian for a number of projects--some urgent problems and some not. They dealt with burst pipes/flooding (freeze-up); an undiagnosed leak; bringing gas line out to the deck; moving valve/pipes in laundry area; problem with outside shower; etc. They have always been responsive and have done a great job. Nice to have folks you can call and trust!

 + -1 moreSince we were pleased with the work they did last year on oil to gas heat conversion (three bids received), we asked them to quote the replacement of the hot water heater. They made a recommendation based on our water usage and also quoted a unit one size larger at our request. We did not get multiple bids this time since we were so pleased with the larger job last year. We decided on the larger unit and they scheduled the job about 2 weeks out. They arrived about 9am and completed the job by about 2pm. They removed the old unit and all old piping. Clean up was thorough and the new piping was properly fit into the existing heating system. They provided the proper documents for obtaining the available rebate. We would recommend them for any HVAC mechanical project!
Description of Work: Replaced hot water heater with new unit. They did a heating conversion from oil to gas last year and since they did an excellent job on that project, we contracted them again.

 + 0 moreKen has a good relationship with the gas utility which was very helpful as this is the busy season. Additionally, the plumbing inspector seemed to have a high regard for the quality of work. The entire project was handled efficiently and expeditiously.
Description of Work: They replaced my obsolete oil boiler and indirect water heater with a new natural gas boiler and new indirect water heater under a program supported by National Grid, the gas utility. Ken and his three sons are masters of their trade. The quality their work exceeded my expectations. The installation was a pretty tricky one with piping that they ran in the ceiling instead of the easier route of running it externally. The project included converting my propane gas log to natural gas. Highly recommended!
