He asked for money upfront which I gave to him. He left the work largely undone. When I contacted him he made excuses about where the money went. On the cellar windows he only purchased 7 windows and left that job unfinished as well. I also had him purchase 40 pavers and he was supposed to pick them up and drop them off but they were never purchased. He painted my two front porches and the porch to the back of my house. Since he was doing an OK job at the beginning of the work on my home I had him start working on my mother's home as well. He only did 25% of the paint work on my mother's house. At the start of that job his workers were not showing up and when the season turned to cold I had him halt the painting process. He has never returned to finish this work. He appears to have trouble reading and writing as well. I told him I wanted the wood grain side up because of the nicer appearance but he could not do this the correct way. He put the wood in wrong side up. Months later he got back to work on this project but ran out of material. Because it wasn't done right I told him he had to fix it. Instead of counter-sinking and doing it the correct way he just flipped the boards over and jammed in the screws and it looks terrible. He did not treat the property with respect and threw welcome mats and chairs to the side. He spilled the wrong color paint all over the decks he was working on and disregarded the fact that this needs to be cleaned up. Now I'm left with piles of junk and a property that neighbors are complaining to the city about. Now I have to have the wood supports inspected and this situation continues to be a hassle all because Vinnie just didn't do what he was hired to do. All of these months that I could not get ahold of him his equipment and tools were still left on my property. Now he is asking to get his things back and I feel it's not my place to monitor his belongings.
Description of Work: I hired him originally to do mortar replacement on my brick foundation. I also paid him to buy 10 cellar windows. He was hired to paint 3 porches and do minor repair on some woodwork.
