Description of Work: I bought a fairly high end, refurbished sewing machine from these folks many years ago. They were rude and unhelpful with questions. It broke about a year later when I was working on denim. When I brought it in for repair, the bobbin was out of sync with the needle, and they told me that it cost more than the sewing machine to fix it. |I decided to give them another chance a couple of years ago. The rude woman who ran the store was still there, and was rude and completely uninterested when I did not want to purchase a $1000 sewing machine. | |Unfortunately, I need to travel from Somerville to West Roxbury to Mr. sweeper and Vac for sewing equipment, but it is definitely worth the trouble!

 + -1 moreThe bobbin winder part of my sewing machine had suddenly stopped working and I wanted to find out how much it would cost to repair. The salesperson/owner? seemed to be very knowledgeable but fairly quickly told me the repair price of $189 which would be way more than the machine is worth. He strongly recommended that I buy a new machine (and possibly one of his used ones) all of which were more than i could afford.
Description of Work: Had them look at a broken sewing machine and provide diagnosis/estimate for repair

 + -1 moresee above the fields you require about what year my home was built when the topic is a sweing machine purchase in another town are a bit not useful for Angies' purpose
Description of Work: I purchased/traded in a sweing machine. The salesman was knowledgable about and able to demonstrate the differences between machines. He could also answer questions about technology nad manufacturing processes and quality. I got the level of detail I wanted to make a decision and sensed he could give much more detail if I had wanted. The store employees were respectful of each other and customers when I overheard them in the background. A free lesson comes with the purchase. The store is very close to the Red Line T although I went for a repair I woulnd up buying a new machine; the service person/salesman was able to explain clearly what was wrong with my machine and what it would cost to repair. He did not pressure me to choose between repair and tradein.

 + -1 moreI went into the store expecting to have to leave my machine for several days, if not a week. Instead, the gentleman working looked at it right away, discovered and fixed the problem, and didn't charge me! He also gave me advice on the best size/shape bobbin to use. I was in and out in 5 minutes, and thrilled to be taking my machine back with me.
Description of Work: Fixed a jammed (40+ year old) sewing machine.

 + -1 moreTheir prices are competitive with other sewing centers. They showed me features on my Kenmore sewing machine that I did not know about. They were very helpful and knowledgeable. They have convenient hours and are conveniently located. I recommend them.
