We had a wonderful experience with Northshore Window. Jim and the crew were great. Arrived on time, very neat and clean, installed the windows very efficiently, cleaned up afterwards, removed old windows, no mess, got approval from condo association for me, and workers were very polite. I highly recommend them. More personal and more reasonably priced than all these BIG window installers you hear on the radio and TV all day long.

Jim and his team were great to work with. They did very professional work, and rushed to complete the job before I had to go back to work from family leave. Jim was prompt to answer my questions and has made himself available since he completed the job. Jim and Johnny even helped me install window ACs! Got a quick response from my initial contact requesting information. Jim Shields came to the house to review options for new windows and determine the scope of desired work. We received a proposal within a few days and elected to proceed with the work. Windows were ordered and arrived within the estimated time frame. It took about 5 days of work to get them all installed and the installation was very professionally done. The price was quite reasonable. I highly recommend Northshore Window and Siding for this type of job.

We called several companies for estimates to replace 16 windows in our house and felt, each time, that we were getting the run-around. Jim Shields looked at the windows, explained what the work would entail, and offered a great price for Harvey windows. He even agreed to replace some siding that had blown off during a recent storm. When you meet Jim, you know immediately that you are dealing with a no-nonsense, honest man. His workers are the best. John and Lenny took the time to make sure that every window was properly installed including a large picture window in the front of the house. The original window was in bad shape; it leaked and was not installed correctly to being with. John and Lenny worked tirelessly, in 95-degree heat, to make sure that the new window was a perfect fit. They are masters of their craft and, like Jim, they are the nicest guys. We highly recommend Northshore Window and Siding and would absolutely hire them again.

I found Jim on Angie's List, and I couldn't be more pleased. He came to my house and provided a comprehensive estimate. He explained everything very clearly and provided brochures on the Anderson windows. As a novice, first-time home owner I did an extensive search of all the window brands and installation services. Jim by far was the best person, and the best price for great value. Fast forward a few years, I decided to wash my windows by myself. Mind you, these are large windows, and I should have asked for help. In any case, I got myself into a pickle and broke my window (user error). It was 6pm, and I have a small baby. The window was stuck wide open and I thought I would need to leave it open all night (40 degrees outside). I called/emailed Jim in a complete panic. He quickly changed his evening schedule, and came to my condo. He calmly fixed the window, and installed the part I broke. Disaster averted. All that and he wouldn't accept additional payment. He is a true super star - thank you Jim!

I can't say enough about Jim Shields, and his crew at Northshore Window and Siding. I researched many companies to replace windows and was referred to Jim by a couple co-workers. Northshore's quotes were matched exactly by brand and price to others, resulting in a significant lower cost difference for 13 regular windows and 1 bay. Instantly, once meeting him, you felt like you were acquaintances for years. The honesty, sincerity, detailed explanation of tackling this project and pricing of the windows we wanted sold us immediately. Once installation was complete you never knew they were even in the house. Everything was cleaned up, no traces of them even being there except for the great new windows. In addition, we were appreciative of the little things they attended to and repaired such as some rotted wood, etc. in and around the windows. We were referred to Jim by coworkers and have since made recommendations ourselves to friends and coworkers as well. The feedback from every one of them has been positive and left with the same feelings we had. Hopefully everyone reading this will give Jim and his crew a try, you will not be sorry!!!

I called Northshore Windows for an estimate to replace windows. Jim came, looked at the job and gave a estimate of the cost and the timeline for the work to begin. We agreed on the great price and he ordered the windows. Northshore windows did a great job replacing the windows in the back of my house. The wood was rotting and the windows were drafty. The workers took their time and replaced all of the wood surrounding the windows. They are great carpenters, polite and very detailed. They cleaned up all of the debris from the job. I highly recommend Northshore windows and siding and I would hire them again.

Everything went really well from start to finish. Jim and his crew were friendly and professional and we're very happy with the work. This was a big exterior project: new vinyl siding, replacement windows, new front door and sidelights, new door surround, storm doors, gutters and construction of exterior stairs and deck. Jim worked with us to help keep some of the historic architectural elements of our home that other contractors wanted to side over, while also helping to give us a maintenance free exterior. Our home is over 150 years old, nothing is square or plumb and it's wedged in between the neighboring houses. In fact, to even get to two sides of our house, the crew had to work in 3 other neighbors yards, but they did a fantastic job and made sure that everyone involved was happy- even our neighbors. I have recommended their services several times already and would use them again if needed.

Could not have gone better! The installation went smoothly and every question or concern was addressed. The crew was efficient but they didn't just show up and just slap on the windows. John and Lenny took the necessary time to do it right. They handled a few items that were extras without any charge. Dealing with Jim Shields was a pleasure. A gentleman and a pro ( no B.S. ). This went great. Jim is very responsive and a pleasure to deal with. His crew was efficient and tidy. They were punctual every day and got the project done on time. Everything went as promised.

After a small delay with the factory making the windows, 90% of the work was completed in the first day! They came back the second day to install the final window and clean things up. We are very pleased with the new windows and expect them to last a very long time.

Exceptionally well. The team was up against inclement weather for the majority of the job. They perservered and completed on schedule. They arrived everyday on time, worked a full day and cleaned up maticulously each day. The team was professional, courteous and paid attention to every small detail. When Jim came to give us an estimate, there was an area of the house that we were not sure about and how best it could be finished, they came up with a perfect solution and we could not be happier with the outcome. The quality of materials used is exceptional. The whole house is transformed and our neighbors have not stopped complimenting us. There isn't anything we would change.

The owner came by looked at my windows.  Since it was dark and he could get a correct measurement outside.  We were going to schedule another apt for measurements.  But, he called to say, I'm in the area, went out of his way and got the measurement during the day.  (please note it was winter).  I was working, he did this to help get the ball rolling for windows etc.  He emailed me the quote for all windows, I was so pleased with the quote.  I had got three other estimates, which were outrageous.  My brother informed me to call Northshore, they had done alot of work at Sheffield Heights.  So let me say this about Northshore:

Beyond Professional,  I always got a call back from the owner Jim or his sfaff with in minutes of me calling.  They never left me in the dark with anything pertaining to the job.  His staff was AMAZING, very professional, respectful.  I was not there when the installation was happing.  I came home and it was as clean as I left.  They cleaned everything,   Northshore Windows and siding are very trustworthy.  It was nice to hear that they had given out several business cards to other owners in the complex.  I continue to network there work and professionalism.  Also, for the price was reasonable, let me not forget.

They did a great job, very professional and neat. I have used them before and will use them again.

Windows and workers came about 1 month after they were ordered. Workers arrived exactly when they stated they would and got right to work...They covered furniture, rugs or clothing that may get dusty from the work, They took great care in carrying windows up the stairs as well as around our home. They totally cleaned up when they were done even sweeping any depris from the front sidewalk of our home. We can already feel the difference, our home is a lot warmer. Best of all there are no drafts coming in from around the windows. They are completely sealed. I would not hesitate to call Norrthshore Window and Siding again. We are completely satisfied.

It was a great experience with superb services. From start to finish, Jim and his team ( Johnny and Lenny) were prompt and professional. They cleaned up thoroughly every night and neatly put away their tools. Given that I do work in my home office, I was amazed how quickly they got all the new windows installed and replaced all the exterior trims ( in two days and a morning) while still maintaining a high level of quality. Our new windows look fabulous and we immediately feel the difference as the winter approaches us. We have already referred Northshore Window to a friend.

Jim from Northshore was very professional and understood exactly what needed to be done. Jim presented us with numerous options for both design and materials along with the pros and cons of each without any sales pressure. The estimate was both timely and reasonable. The overall costs stayed very close to the original estimate and only increased due to some post demolition structural maintenance that no one could have foreseen. Northshore's carpenter, Frank, had great design suggestions as the project progressed that led to the structure matching the overall look of the house better than we ever anticipated. It was clear to us that Frank and his team paid close attention to every detail and were focused on building a structure that would remain problem free for as long as possible. Even when a measuring error caused a problem with the original design plan Frank worked with us (exchanging texts and phone calls over the weekend) to come up with a re-design that in the end we actually preferred. In the end I don't think anyone could have done a better job than Northshore with what was a somewhat unusual project. The overall cost wound up being less than other estimates we received. The end result was better than what we had anticipated and both Frank and Jim are great guys to do business with. I would recommend them to anyone.

Great, expert installation, including special attention to finishing, the installer went the extra mile to ensure correctness. All high quality materials used. Also, fixed a couple of issues found along the way. I will def call Jim when I am ready to side my house.

The updates performed by Jim and his team have transformed our home. Our condo is an older building and the new windows and doors have updated the look of our home and have made our unit much more efficient- we no longer feel drafts around the windows and doors. The quality of work they performed is top notch. The new interior framing in particular has transformed our rooms. The onsite team, John and Len, were professional, punctual and did amazing work. They were really wonderful to work with. Jim, the owner, came by every morning and at the close of the day to check in. We plan on working with the team again on our next project.

Northshore Window & Siding installed nine top quality replacement sash windows in our building. What a terrific job!
