Even though we used Angie's List to look for contractors, we had a very difficult time finding someone to take on this job. Since we live in a 4 unit condo in Somerville, we needed a licensed contractor in order to get a permit. However, very few of the people we called were willing to take on a job this small. I happened to see Jeff working on some stairs for our neighbor and asked if he would be interested in replacing our stairs. He came right over and looked at our problem. Within a few days he sent out an estimate. Once we agreed on the price, he emailed a contract to review and dropped off a hard copy of it to us to sign. He arrived when he said he would and completed the job within a reasonable amount of time. Jeff was the only person who worked at the site and he was always very friendly and professional. He broke up and removed the concrete monstrosity and then built a set of beautiful new stairs for us. It looks fantastic and the area around the work site was spotless when he finished.
