The service is great and they are extremely punctual. The surroundings are pleasant, with clean and ample space for waiting. If the work they need to do on the car is going to take a while, you can use one of their loaner cars for only $15 per day. They are reliable and honest.

I am not much of a car person, but I can tell you this place can be trusted. I had taken the Jeep to another mechanic five times and they could not fix the problem. Mike's Auto Service was able to get it running in one day and I have had no problems with it since. They were polite and fair in their dealings with me, and I recommend them very highly as being honest, knowledgeable, and fairly priced.

Everyone I encountered at Mike's was very friendly and not at all patronizing as some service places can be. The price was higher than I had hoped, but, since they have such a great rep, I had the work done anyway. I hope that the quality of the work ends up matching the cost. One problem I had was a $49 diagnostic fee that showed up on my bill when I went to get my car. I was not told of this before hand and was expecting to pay $50 less than I did. The guy at the front desk told me it was "standard" and that any time spent looking at my car was on the bill. I felt like it was dishonest not to inform me of the cost when verbally estimating. They also balked when I requested a written estimate of the repairs. I ended up paying what they said, but I don't think there should be a problem with getting a written quote if I want one. Overall, they seemed nice enough, and the technician, Mike Jr. was very helpful. The front desk guys were also nice, but less helpful and honest.

Sometimes in the course of years of looking for good mechanics you can come across someone as professional and as dedicated as Mike is. We were that lucky. Mike took 2 days diagnosing our truck s engine because it was acting as if someone was hitting the gas pedal. At first, we thought this was going to turn out to be a big expense but Mike went the extra mile and told us to wait a couple of days as he gave it some detailed scrutiny. Well, it turns out it was not as major as we thought and our truck is back on the road with no problems whatsoever. I swear by Mike now and won t use anyone else.

I wish I had gone to Mike's from the start! This place is the real deal. Honest, efficient, reliable, and friendly. I'm a know-nothing when it comes to cars, but these guys (Mike Jr. and Rick) were completely trustworthy. I had noticed that my car was doing a little side-to-side shimmy and vibrating a lot, but I kept putting off dealing with it, until one day my tire was completely blown and the wheel was squeaking. I could barely move it, but I managed to slowly roll into an auto shop that happened to be right on that block. They replaced the tire and the struts and axle for $600, but they didn't fix the original problem! I then took it to Mike's, who immediately wondered why the other auto shop wasn't concerned about the other 3 tires. He diagnosed the problem (the rear tires were shot and the alignment was off.) He replaced them, fixed the alignment that the other guys had screwed up, and balanced the tires. I will never go anywhere else!

Great! Mike treated me very well. I know enough about auto repair to know when I'm being lied to. Mike told me what he found, how much it would cost and when it would be done. It was done on time and the price had not changed. He pointed out some other things that could be fixed but didn't not pressure me when I declined. I will be getting not only my private vehicles but also my work trucks. I will gladly pay a little more for honest and prompt service.

A very good experience. They were able to take me the day after I called. They called with an estimate, they were courteous, prompt, and did a very good job. I'll definitely using them again.

Wow! Talk about the dream Auto Service. First of all, I trust the shop. Clean, prompt, honest, super service oriented, super knowledgeable, and my advocate for the best value for dollars spent. Long story short, after the first time I brought my car to be serviced by the dealers it never ran the same. After having my car serviced by Mikes, it runs like the day I drove it off the lot. I will be a lifetime customer of Mike's.

I meant to go to the "Mike's Auto" already listed on Angie's list, and ended up here by happy accident! Mike did a wonderful job. He drove me to work when I dropped off my car. Took care of everything that needed doing for a VERY reasonable price, considering the amount of work done. It's confusing having two "Mike's Auto Service" in Somerville...but I can HIGHLY recommend this one! Note: he has two addresses: 517 Columbia and 6 Beech Street, which is an alley off of 517 Columbia.

It was a pleasure dealing w/Mike and his colleagues. The waiting area was extremely nice and clean (spacious and welcoming). They took us right away and service was speedy and efficient. I phoned back a few days later for an oil change and they did it for free!! Mike said it was a service for their new customers. If you want great customer service, this is the place to go!

Mike's Auto owners Mike Sr and Mike Jr are very professional and friendly and honest. I've been a customers for nearly a decade and drive out of my way to go to them. On this occasion Mike Jr personally showed me the problem as the car was in the garage. He explained my options and safety concerns. They keep a historical record of the each car and follow it's life cycle. They do not offer the ''rip off'' dealer menu items. They use common sense and suggest things that need to be done. I have ''lifetime'' oil change program on both my cars. Mike Jr. provided me with a loaner car and option to pay the bill with a short term loan offering three months interest free that can be approved on the spot. Can't say enough about them.

These people know how to run a business. Nobody but the dealer wanted to change the oil on my Touareg - & the dealer charges $100-plus. Large, spacious waiting area with plasma TV and internet access, as well as outstanding customer service. They've got a future customer.

They are polite, and courteous, but I can't say altogether honest. I called and asked for the price of 2 tires. When I asked for the price of wheel alignment, he mumbled something about high speed balance, and gave me a total (with the tires) of $143. This was a bit odd since that's nearly the price of the tires alone (his quote - $58 each), and I know the alignment costs at least around $60 (and I know I didn't mistakenly ask for "balance" instead of "alignment" since I didn't even think to do a balance and have been looking at other places for the price of wheel alignment). When I got my car back, I find a charge of $44.50 for the balance, and $99 for the alignment! So even without the alignment, the price is still higher than the quote, and the $99 alignment is more expensive than most places I know (not to mention I could have gotten it for free with a purchase of tires at some places), all of which leads me to believe it was a low-ball offer to suck me in, and charge me more.

VERY HELPFUL AND GAVE ME LOANER CARE FREE TO HAVE. I WENT TO UT. CALLED ME IN UT ON HOLIDAY TO GIVE INFO AND ESTIMATE. VERY ACCOUNTABLY.

I'VE BEEN GOING TO MIKE'S FOR 8 YEARS AND THEY HAD SERVICED MY TWO CURRENT FORDS AND A FORMER VW AND TROOPER. THEY'RE ARE A RARE MECHANIC WHO IS FRANKYL HONEST. I'VE HAD THEIR LIFETIME OIL CHANGE FOR 5 PLUS YEARS ON MY FORDS. I DRIVE FROM ARLINGTON BECAUSE THEY ARE SO GOOD AT WHAT THEY DO. IT'S A FATHER AND SON SHOP AND THEY HAVE A SPACIOUS NEW FACILITY WITH AN OIL CHANGE BAY FOR QUICK SERVICES. I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH AND NOW ANY OF MY CO-ANGIE'S LIST MEMBERS WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

MIKE JR. WAS VERY POLITE, FRIENDLY, AND SEEMED VERY HONEST, WHICH IS HARD TO COME BY IN THE AUTO SHOP BUSINESS.

MIKE AND HIS STAFF ARE REMARKABLY NICE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTED. THE SHOP IS IMMACULATE. THEY WERE ABLE TO REPAIR AN AC SYSTEM THAT WE'VE ALREADY SPENT A LOT OF MONEY ON BUT NO OTHER SHOP HAD BEEN ABLE TO REPAIR. MIKE'S PRICING IS NOT BARGAIN BASEMENT BUT IT IS FAIR AND I'D RATHER PAY TO GET THE PROBLEM FIXED. THERE WERE A FEW ADJUSTMENTS THAT NEEDED TO BE MADE AFTER WE PICKED UP THE CAR (NO COST) BUT THEY DID AN AWFUL LOT OF WORK SO THAT DIDN'T BOTHER US. MOREOVER, THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC OF A USED CAR WE'RE PURCHASING FOR OUR SON AT NO COST. BOTTOM LINE: GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND GOOD WORK IS ENOUGH TO KEEP ME COMING BACK.

MIKE WAS ALWAYS KEEPING US APPRAISED OF WHAT WAS GOING ON, WHAT WAS NEEDED AND ANY COSTS. THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY POOR WORKMANSHIP AT 2 OTHER LOCAL GARAGES, WHICH HE WAS GENUINELY SORRY THAT WE HAD GOT STUCK BY THESE OTHER GARAGES. HE WAS KIND, COURTEOUS, LENT US A LOANER CAR FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS, AND HAS THE CLEANEST AUTO SHOP & WAITING AREA THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN. PRICING IS NORMAL, BUT THE QUALITY OF THEIR WORK MORE THAN MAKES UP FOR THOSE 'OUCHIE' FEELINGS WHEN DOING AUTO REPAIRS. MIKE'S IS MY MECHANIC FROM NOW ON!

@ MIKE'S MY EXPERIENCE IS THAT THEY SERVICE & RECOMMEND TO REPLACE/REPAIR ITEMS AS NEEDED FOR SAFETY AND PERFORMANCE. COMPARED TO MY EXPERIENCE AT DEALERS WHERE THEY HAVE A FIXED MENU AND CHARGE LOTS OF MONEY FOR MAINTENANCE. ALSO MIKE'S SENDS OUT MIKE'S BUCKS WHICH YOU CAN REDEEM AS YOU WISH. LASTLY THEY FULLY BACK THEIR REPAIRS AND PARTS AS I HAD AN ISSUE WITH A NEW TIRE AND MIKE SR. REPLACED IT FOR FREE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM AS MIKE SR. AND SONS MIKE JR., & MARK ARE VERY PATIENT AND HONEST. YOU CAN ASK MANY QUESTIONS AND GET DIRECT ANSWERS. THIER NEW SHOP IS AMAZING AND SOON WILL HAVE HIGH SPEED INTERNET WHILE WAITING FOR AN OIL CHANGE. OVER THE LAST 7 YEARS THEY HAVE ALWAYS CALLED ME WHEN THEY SAY THEY WILL AFTER DIAGNOSING MY CAR. THEY ALSO HAVE A LOANER CAR FREE OF CHARGE IF YOU NEED TO LEAVE YOURS. TRY MIKE'S AS THEY GO ABOVE AND BEYOND TO ACCOMODATE YOU AS A CUSTOMER.

CHECKED EVERYTHING OUT, VERY THROUGH AND HONEST. SINCE IT IS A FAMILY BUSINESS, ITS A VERY FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE. THEY SEEM TO RETAIN THEIR MECHANICS.

THEY HAVE A REAL GOOD DEAL WHERE I PAY $60 (APPROXIMATELY) AND THEY GIVE AN OIL CHANGE FOR THE LIFE OF THE CAR. THEY ALSO KEEP ME INFORMED WITH THE MAINTENANCE OF THE CAR. THIS COMPANY ALSO OFFERS LOANER CARS.

MIKES AIN''T CHEAP, BUT I''VE NEVER HAD TO GO BACK AND HAVE WORK REDONE, WHICH MEANS NO LOST WORK TIME, NO HASSLES, ETC. THEY ALSO PROVIDE LOANER CARS AT NO COST.
