The estimate amount was $2000. They were very professional, very quick and their quote was really easy to see. It was very detailed. We didn’t go with them because it was too high and we got a cheaper quote somewhere else. I might possibly consider working with them in future.

Mike's has been our auto repair facility for 10 years, taking 3 different cars to end of life. We have gone in for what we thought were issues that turned out to be less than $100, and we have had Mike tell us that our cars were not worth a big repair and it was time to head to the dealer. They are no longer convenient to where we live, but this is still our service place.

I got them off of Angie’s List. The guy was really good. I don’t know how he fixed all those little things. He fixed the little nagging things that I had with the car. The door never worked right and the starter used to make a big grinding noise. I probably had 3 or 4 different people who tried to fix that and no one was ever able to fix it properly, but this guy fixed it perfectly. They fixed the door and replaced the starter and the alternator. They did a lot of other things on top of what I had asked them to do. I was very happy with it. Their service is excellent. I would recommend people to take their cars to them. It takes 35 minutes to get there. The people there can troubleshoot problems very well. They keep trying until they figure out the issues. They are determined to do a good job and get things right. The amount that I spent was worth it. I would use them again in the future.

Excellent explainantion of problem and prompt service.

I used Mike's twice recently. First, I had a slow leak in one of my Prius tires. It was coming from the value stem. I was fit into the schedule that day, and everything was fixed. Great service; great work. The second time was an emergency with a frozen front brake on my VW Beetle before a long trip during the week before the 4th of July weekend. Mike was jammed with other customers, but again fit me in and finished the work that day. Very responsive, punctual and professional. I needed a complete overhaul of both front brakes, including pads, rotors and calipers. Unfortunately, the repair work needed a little adjustment (a chirp coming from one of the front tires), which Mike took care of without any problem. In addition to the service and professionalism, I really appreciate Mike's waiting room as well. It's clean, comfortable, and well stocked with a variety of drinks and snacks.

We went in for tires for our minivan. He did an alighnment as well. Good stuff.

Mike's seemed to be very expensive than if I went somewhere else. You can save money if you went somewhere else. The place was clean but that is about it.

He offers a nice rental car price, that he subsidizes, and had Enterprise ready and waiting for me. Mike was patient with us while we decided what to fix when he found some unexpected problems and he gave a thorough explanation of his pricing. The waiting room is comfortable, quiet, and clean. Recently, I burnt my clutch and called Mike to ask what to do. He said to bring the car right to him. I did and he got the clutch replaced as quickly as I might have hoped. We're new to the Boston area, and are glad to have found an honest, good auto shop.

Mike's has been great for me over the past several years. They are professional, fair, and trustworthy. Mike gives me options and gives his honest assessment of the pros and cons of proceeding with his recommended work.

I had an excellent experience from start to finish. I looked on their website for more information and then called and made an appointment. Mike was very professional and patient as I explained what I thought was needed: including a 90K service and to replace the rear toe arm. He stated that he was certified to do the manufacturer service but he also didn't want to perform any unnecessary work and we would have more information after he looked at the car. Due to transportation challenges, I called him and said I would be late dropping it off. His response was that was fine but he might not be able to get to it that day (Even if I had dropped it off the night before, I wouldn't have expected such prompt service b/c of past experience w/ other repair shops). Mike called the following day w/ the estimate and clear explanation of the work needed. When I asked how long this would take, much to my surprise he said if I really needed the car back he could try to get it finished (depending on getting the parts) that day. I said the next day would be fine. After the work was completed he called and even offered to stay late if I needed him to (for payment) or I could make payment over the phone and pick it up at my own convenience. I picked up the car that evening, it was left clean inside, the paperwork and extra key were on the passenger seat and I drove home a car that hasn't handled that well in a very long time. I asked Mikes Auto to let me know why my check engine light was on and they called giving me details about the issue. I asked how much it would cost to fix it and they gave me a price as well as a $100 fee for telling me what the check engine light was reporting. I was unaware of this fee and was not happy about it. The repairs themselves went well (replace spark plugs and ignition coils) and I have had no further issues related to this repair.

Great. After bringing my Audi to a dealership, that dealership said I needed a new axle at a cost of $1000 plus labor. The car didn't have any vibrations, so I thought the recommendation was bogus. Brought the car to Mike where they checked out the problem and confirmed that the axle was fine but the cause of my noise problem was the calipers. They also recommended an oil change and helped me get some new tires on the car. They got a set of Toyo tires, but Mike called me and wanted to check on what kind of tires I was looking for - high performance or all season. Good thing he did because the all season tires were the way to go. He got the tires exchanged on put on the car, all by the end of the day. The price on the services rendered was fair - the tires were a few bucks more than what I would have paid at a tire shop but I didn't have to deal with the hassle of making another trip - so it was worth the $5 more per tire to me. In the end, the price paid was very good and the service is excellent. Mike's is a great shop - I will return.

I walked into Mike's Auto Service in Somerville thinking that I might need the dreaded catalytic converter (I had been advised this by another mechanic). Mike put the car on the lift and immediately told me that me catalytic converter was fine and that the rattling was due to a couple of missing bolts and a loose heat shield. Total fix: $59.00. Mike could not have been nicer or more professional! Also, the shop is so clean I could have eaten dinner there. Extraordinary experience. Highly recommended.

They have been very reliable. They are very helpful. One time I was going on a trip and the car was making a funny noise, they were busy but still they looked at the car and luckily it was an easy fix and they fixed it for free. Usually it is not free. They have been very good. The last time I took my car was to check engine light and I was very happy with them, because I had a broken seat in the rear of the minivan and when I took the car to the dealer, they said there was no way to fix it and that it will cost $850 to fix it. But Mike's Automotive Services Inc adjusted it for me for a $100. That was great.

They are good. They explain things. They are honest. They do what they say they are going to do. One time, years ago, I had a problem after the car was fixed. They took it right back. They fixed a flat tire for me for free. They are very decent, trustworthy auto repair people, which is hard to find. They are pretty fast at what they do. They will do oil changes while you wait. I have been using them for over ten years.

Great They dropped me off at the T and finished all the work (even the stuff they didn't plan on) by my deadline. I asked them to check the tires and they reported that I could leave them on but they were going to be unsafe after a short period of time. With that - they went ahead and replaced the tires with a great seat and a good price.

I am quite pleased with Mike's Automotive. I believe his prices are about the same if not a bit higher than other shops but I value responsiveness and professionalism far more than price. My only complaint is that he can get quite busy so sometimes I don't get the car back when expected. If that happens he'll let me know when I drop it off or calls to let me know ahead of the pick-up time. Even though he can be quite busy he never makes me feel like I am wasting his time for asking questions about what needs to be done or has been done to my car.

When I went for the first time they took my car in told me they would call for an estimate. My cars mileage is >100K and just need to keep it running like a car of its age not like a new car. They called me back and gave me a laundry list of things including new shock absorbers, front brakes etc with total estimate around ~1.5-2K, and all that for a 10 yr old car. On top of that I came to know that they are going to charge me an hrs time to for the estimate if I don't get the job done. I was on the hook. I blame myself partly for this as I did not expect this when I took my car in. Anyway, I did not do most of the stuff and just got a oil change, transmission fluid flush, new wipers etc. I don't understand cars at all and depend on trustworthy people. I think they did a good job but scared me a little and I am going to keep looking for another service center.

The service at Mike's was professional and thorough. They reviewed the earlier repair history for my car and in one case found something the dealer had overlooked. Mike's pricing was also better than the dealer I'd been bringing the car to. For example, the dealer quoted about $800 to replace one of the front struts, whereas Mike's charged $1001 to replace both. Since this initial visit, I've also brought the car back to Mike's to have the air conditioning fixed, and am satisfied with that repair as well. I plan to continue using Mike's Automotive Services.

My car's A/C wasn't working, and I also wanted an oil change and a full inspection before a long road trip. Mike's got me in and out in less than four hours. (Scheduling was quick and easy, too.) They have a good deal with enterprise where you can rent a car for $20 a day while your car's in the shop, too. Anyway, it's a clean, professionally run shop. I was comfortable they were not looking to gauge me or anything. They pointed out a long-term issue with my A/C, but gave me a short-term fix to get me through the summer. I would definitely use them again.

Fantastic. Very professional. Courteous. Prompt. Cleanest facility I've ever seen. Very customer friendly. Surprised me with a ride to the office on drop-off. Will definitely return.

Mike's is a great find. They care about service. They even gave my wife a ride home! When picking up the car, they realized they had not done the state inspection. They completed that item while I waited. I will be back to Mike's.

I initially found Mike on Angie?s List and I?m so glad I did. I?ve been taking my car to Mike?s for about three years and all of the nice things other reviewers have said about him and his crew are true. Yes, from my woman?s perspective, the waiting room and restroom are clean. It?s not ?icky? or gross to wait there for work to be done. They also have magazines, a flat screen TV, and Internet access. On a slow day, Mike Senior often talks. What I really like about Mike?s, though, is that it feels like he?s being honest. I feel like I?ve got my dad watching out for me. (On more than one occasion Mike said he'd stay open later for me if I coudn't make it to the shop before it closed. Now that's service!) If Mike and his mechanics say something needs to be done, it does. He also will tell if the work needs to be done now or if it can wait. He?s not a scammer. It?s nice to know there are honest mechanics out there.

Great. The diagnosis was true. The estimate was accurate. Mike called me and outlined my options. The work was done when he said it would be. I think I found my next mechanic.

His work is okay but he charges a fortune. It should have cost me about $650 but he charged me over $900. I may have to use him in the future because it is an old car.
