Did roof and replaced wood underneath. Started leaking (after ~ 3 years) and refused to come back. Got another roofer to patch the leak. He said that the shingles were nailed wrong. Have had another leak on same side. Don’t use them, work isn’t good and they don’t stand behind their work. Very rude

Mike returned my call within 45 minutes, came to my house within an hour to give me an estimate and then repaired it that afternoon.  Very fast, efficient and professional.  I used them back in 2013 and had the same service, quality and professional.

I called this person and asked him to come and give me an estimate for removing large ice from my gutter. His first price was well North of what I ended up paying after I found that I could get it done cheaper.
He and his helper came and removed the ice and in so doing damaged several shingles.  AS soon as I saw the shingles in the snow below the gutter, I called and he immediately denied that he had caused this damage and wanted to know how I knew  I said I could both see it and found the shingle on the ground. He came over, saw that the shingles were missing, and agreed to come and fix them
After several more calls he came over and I offered the shingles that I had in my basement and he said they wouldn't work because they were architectural shingles but that he had more shingles in his shop that he could use.  While his workman was up on the ladder I asked him to take a look at a window that was leaking.  He as well as the workman went up the ladder and said that the metal on the top of the window was loose and with 5 taps of a hammer tightened down the metal  He said he would caulk but he didn't have the caulking with him.
He also pointed out that the facia board was rotten and gave me an estimate of $1350 to fix it.  I said I thought that was high so he came down to $1300.  No written estimate was offered.
He left and was to return to  fix the shingles he damaged when he took off the ice.
In the meantime, I called my gutter people who came and estimated that they would fix the facia board PLUS installing a new gutter along that side of the house for $650, HALF the price that the original contractor gave me for the facia only.  Then I called the original contractor to tell him I had a better offer, and he started yelling and saying that they couldn't possibly be insured (they were) and that this was a bad deal. I told him that I still held him responsibly for fixing the damage he had cause.  I called again  to find out when he would fix the damaged shingles  (took two calls) and he said he would not come to fix the shingles until I paid him $150 for the window that he fixed.  This was the first time I heard a price for taking 5 taps with a hammer on the window No caulking was done.
SO we are at an impasse as I will not pay $150 for 5 taps of a hammer and I still have damaged shingles that
he admitted (after some discussion) that he and his workman had caused. NEVER EVER USE THIS PERSON . He is RUDE,  IS OUT TO SCAM YOU AND WILL NOT DO THE WORK .   Trying every trick in the book to avoid the work he has to do to repair the damage he created.

A three family house that we own had a serious problem with the double back porch (no porch on the ground, porches for the second and third floors were sagging badly.) Estimates for replacement were 60 to 80 thousand dollars.  My husband called Michael Suied for an estimate on simply jacking up the existing porches.  Michael came out, checked the structure of the porches and said he could jack them up for about 3,500 dollars.  Around the same time our daughter needed to have her front porch repaired in order to sell her house.  That job was more complicated and the estimate was 7,500 dollars. J and M Carpentry and Roofing completed both jobs within a few weeks of our original call, and the quality of work was excellent.

Instead of re-setting the 2 layers of bricks they removed the loose bricks and hide them in the flower bed along side of
my house. After finding the bricks I now have concerns about the re-pointing. If you hire these poeple you will have to watch
them every minute, to make sure they are doing the job you're paying for.

Mike did the job, and the squirrels have not returned. So, overall, I guess I am satisfied. However he offered to do a lot more in the estimate than he actually did. And he said he would come back to paint over the flashing he installed, and never did. So, his price was good, and quality okay...but not great.
