Kevin and his crew fixed a small section of slate roof including installing copper flashing and custom copper gutter. They did an excellent job. Since they needed to order matching slate for my roof, it took a little while for them to get to my job, which I expected. What was great was that they came right away to do a temporary fix since I had a slight leak. Kevin explained all the work that needed to be done, gave me some different pricing options, and took pictures of the finished job. I would definitely recommend Historical Slate Roofing without reservation.

I’d like to always own a home with a slate roof and copper gutters so that Kevin and his crew could be my go-to. He has helped us through many emergencies and most recently this winter after a hundred foot tree decided to find it’s way onto our roof. He knows where to source the perfect colored slate, installation is fast and top notch, and he always goes above and beyond. It’s nice to have someone treat your home as if it were his own. He is honest, trustworthy and shows up when he says he will. He leaves the job site in perfect condition and has always stayed on budget. Can’t say enough good things about Historical Slate!

Overall the work was excellent. The heating coil was installed, worked properly and the slates repaired and areas caulked. Subsequent to the initial work, they would send emails to check in and when we had need for some follow up issues to be resolved they responded promptly at no additional cost.

I couldn't ask for a better experience. Kevin was very friendly, had deep knowledge of slate roofs, and competitively priced. I had questions throughout the selection, planning and pre-installation process - and Kevin was very responsive with his replies. Installation day went very smoothly. Kevin and his crew came at 9 am and finished by 4 pm - all 3 skylights installed and house and yard cleaned up. In addition, Kevin noticed some missing slates and patched up for me. Would definitely recommend and use again for my slate roofing needs.

Kevin and his crew are phenomenal! Calls and emails were always promptly returned, quotes were very reasonable and quickly supplied to me, and no extra work was done without my permission. The replacement slate that was needed took some time for him to find, but he did and it was seamlessly integrated in with the existing tiles. Some sections of copper gutters were also replaced and they fixed what the last contractor had attempted to install. His crew was so helpful, knowledgeable and respectful, and all of my questions and concerns were taken care of. Not that I ever want ice **** damage on my roof again, but if there is, there is no doubt that Historical Slate will be the only ones I will trust to get the work done.

The job went very smoothly and was completed in one day. There was some delay in the scheduling as weather and other factors slowed them up on jobs before ours but they were in communication with us throughout the waiting period.

Kevin answered my call the next day, came for an estimate on the same day, emailed me a proposal for fixing the roof one day later. Comparing to 2 other proposals I got, his was very knowledgeable with the problem, provided a more thorough solution, listed out his work in more details, his price was in the middle. He also gave me options for fixing the gutter and downspout which were also damaged by the tree. After we chose his company to do the work, they came on the day as promised, finished the work on time, kept work site clean, his crew was friendly, even cleaned some of my gutters when they were on the roof. They are a great small business, who is good at what they do, value and respect their customers, I highly recommend them.

We have used Kevin and his crew for several maintenance and repair jobs on our historic slate roof.  They have always been responsive, punctual, highly professional.  They do outstanding work at a reasonable price.

Kevin and his crew take great pride in their work-they set the bar high for the care they put into their work. Kevin and his crew were great to work with and very responsible. They cleaned up the area they were working in at the end of every day. My comment about the price being fair and not excellent is because I was not able to obtain any other bids to compare it to. Plus, the reality is that copper work is expensive.

Great experience! Kevin fit us in during a busy time, and the repairs came out great. We can't even tell where the replaced slates are located. Kevin provided great e-mail and phone support and answered all of our questions.

Few of the people I had called bothered to return my calls.  But Kevin called very promptly and told me that while they were very busy, they would get me on their list.  He gave me an estimated date the work would be done, and called when he relized , due to the weather, in would in fact be one day later.  He came with 2 other guys, all of whom were very friendly and professional.  His rate was very reasonable, and in fact he charged me less because my husband had already done some clearing.  I have heard lots of stories about people being gouged on prices for roof cleaning, or worse, having roofs destroyed by people who do not know what they are doing.   He knew what he was doing.   I will call them if I ever need any roof work done.  His company says "historical slate roofs" but he told me they do all types of roofs.

Kevin and his crew were great!!  They arrived right on time and ready to work.  Kevin walked the property with me to hear our concerns and offered his expert advice.  His team of four worked quickly and diligently to remove all problematic snow and ice from our roof.  Before leaving he offered suggestions on how to reduce our build-up during the next storm.

Thoughtful, highly professional and honest... a real find!  Corrected the mistakes of a previous roofer, provided photos of before and after work, and outlined what work will be needed on the roof in the future, but didnt pressure us to do more than fix the current leak. Excellent communication skills, very honest.  HIGHLY recommend.  Will definitely use for future work!

An amazing job!! very accurate,fixed the problem promptly and he explained to me thoroughly what exactly it was that happened,how they fixed it and explained to me how best to avoid these problems in the future I.E what to look out for right away as these things can get pretty bad quick and pretty expensive if you don't adhere to them right away. they were extremely professional and just did an absolute amazing job and i am truly glad i chose these guys to tend to my roofing problem! I spoke with Kevin and asked him to come and give me a proposal. He was there within a few hours very cooperative and helpful when I asked him what needed to be repaired. He was very knowledgeable about slate roofing and how to takenon thenjob a section at a time and didn't try to up sell me on other areas in need of maintenance. I was surprised when I received the quote and the price. It was $2100 difference from the lowest bid we received... They showed up early to work and were very cconscious of our flowers and outdoor furniture . They also cleaned our gutters free of charge I have found our slate roofers and recommend that you give these guys a call you won't be sorry.

Kevin and his team were reasonably priced prompt, honest, friendly, professional, very responsive to questions, and cleaned-up everything.  We have 2 toddlers and we didn't have to worry about any debris in the driveway or in the house!  The work was really well done and we will be using them for future projects.
