John and his crew were very easy to work with and always polite and respectful. When the color we'd chosen turned out to be a little too bright, they tinted and remixed the color until it was to our satisfaction. From estimate to clean-up, we were impressed with John's professionalism and would recommend him highly to anyone. The result was great, so of course we wished we'd done it earlier.

They went above and beyond to make everything look amazing - the work surpassed our expectations. They were on time and got the work done in the time estimated. They even did extra work on some of the front windows to touch things up and make sure everything came out with a consistent and clean look and feel. Both of the men working from John's team were extremely professional and friendly. I would highly recommend them and we will definitely call on them again.

Altimuro was outstanding. He showed up right on time, did flawless work, was incredibly pleasant, listened to all of my concerns about the various tasks, and cleaned up beautifully. So impressed. I've had this team paint the entire apartment in 2013 and they were just as good then. Love this company. Johnny K, the owner, is a very nice guy as well.

I was very pleased with the painting done in my home.  My living room has a lot of windows and other details, and they were expert at cutting around the details and keeping it clean.  I felt that they were very well priced for the quality of the service.  I would definitely hire them again!

I contacted a number of painters a few months ago, and chose Countryside, to paint the exterior of my 2-story Dutch Colonial house along with a detached 2-car garage. Like some other painters, they are lead certified, and apparently used appropriate procedures to minimize lead contamination. The bid was slightly higher than the others received, but they did some minor carpentry and (unexpectedly) replaced a couple of broken window panes for me.
We were in regular communication by email. I was told that the job would be done in late October or early November,
and got a couple of day's notice that they would start on Monday or Tuesday, 2 or 3 November, and take about 5 days' work.
In the event, they started on Monday afternoon and almost finished on Friday. The window panes were replaced, and the framing painted, on Saturday morning.
The whole experience went well. I never found it necessary to leave work to be at the house. I did turn on my outside water and left the basement open to provide bathroom access. Some painting material were stored in half of the garage, with my permission.

Countryside Painting Company did a great job on our house. We felt that John Kearns was very knowledgeable and honest and his crew was very professional. He even recommended a carpenter to do some accompanying work that needed to be done at the same time which was very handy. We also appreciate that he came back to touch up one of our decks for free which had taken a bad beating over the winter due to the enormous amount of snow we had.

We just had our the exterior of our 2 unit condo home painted by John and his team at Countryside Painting, and I just wanted to say that I couldn't have been more pleased with the experience from start to finish!
John is responsible and responsive, which was super important to us. In our condo building we have two children under that age of 7 and the building was built in 1901, so lead was a big concern for us. John was one of only two painters who proactively brought that up in our preliminary discussion. Also, he returned the quote in less than 24 hours via email, whereas other guys took a few days.
He continued being communicative throughout the entire process, and we found him super easy to reach via text and email. This was a big deal for me in particular because other guys expressed that they preferred coordinating via phone but my job doesn't allow much flexibility to be fielding phone calls during the day.
Furthermore, John was attentive to details and very adaptable. He made it easy to coordinate getting the sample colors we wanted and his changed a color that wasn't quite right when we asked them to do so. Also, the work occurred during Halloween, and we live on a popular trick-or-treating block, so we wanted to ensure that the front porch wasn't going to be a problem that night; John took that completely in stride and coordinated the work so that the paint was totally dry by then. The work itself looks great; obviously, I can't yet comment on the durability but I have no reason at this point to be concerned.
To top it off, his prices were reasonable. Of the five quotes I got, he was the second cheapest. The cheapest guy wasn't nearly as thorough or communicative (he took a week+ to get me a quote and was basically MIA except on the phone), so I was plenty happy to pay the little bit extra. You definitely get what you pay for with John and Countryside Painting!

It went amazingly well. John went above and beyond, offering great suggestions for colors, recommending someone to do carpentry work and overseeing the job and in general, seemed to genuinely care about us and the work. The guys who did the work were very professional and did a really nice job.

I met with John earlier this year in order to go over what our house needed in terms of a complete exterior paint job. He arrived punctually and spent a good deal of time going over each aspect of the work - from stripping, to prepping, to actually painting.
He was very professional and friendly and the examples of his work spoke for themselves. We agreed to sign a contract.
Unfortunately, we then learned we had to move for work and it took some time to get back in touch with John. We still owned our home and it certainly needed to be painted so we arranged to have the work done while we were away. Of course we were concerned with not being there during the process but it ended up going over extremely well.
John remained in touch at all times and easy to contact despite us being on the opposite coast. He gave us constant updates and showed us final pictures of the finished work as well.
We are extremely happy with the work John and his team have done for us. Not only was the painting done quickly and beautifully, but the entire process was very easy and professional. I would not hesitate to recommend Countryside Painting Company, LLC to any other home owners. Our house is beautiful now thanks to them!

The work crew was punctual, fast and professional. John and Gilmar communicated very clearly the work that needed to be done, and their quotes were always accurate - there were no surprises. The workmanship was top-notch - our home looks brand new. Yes, they are on the expensive side, but well worth it.

John was very easy to work with when getting estimates done and scheduling the work on two separate occasions. His crew showed up on time and was very efficient. They were good about considering the weather when scheduling work so that the wood would be dry when painting/sealing. They cleaned up well afterward. Overall great job.

John Kearn is Countryside Painting. John is polite, knowledgeable, competent and opinionated. He may not be on site all day long, but the job is done to his high standards. I hired John because after two interviews, references, Angies' List, etc. I knew John's crew could do the job and do it well. I hired John over other contractors with lower bids because of my belief in him.
John and Countryside Painting did not disappoint. They did a complicated job well. It was also done efficiently and with minimal disruption or mess. When given the punch list they did all that it required and more.
I will have Countryside paint my house when it is needed.

I feel like John Kearns gave us a first-class experience and would recommend him to others. This was our first time hiring a painter and it was a lot of money for us, but it worked out great. He was willing to give his own suggestions but was always open to let us make the final call.
John gave an exact quote (not an estimate) upfront for the price. Compared to some other estimates, his contract was brief and did not spell out every detail, which made me a little nervous at first; but John willingly resolved any ambiguities in our favor, even volunteering to paint items we originally didn't assume to be included, and didn't end up charging us extra for small add-ons.
His crew was professional, e.g. used tarps to cover ground and brick steps and were open to requests. As advertised, they did not smoke or use a radio. John kept us informed of the schedule at every step of the way (either verbally or by sending quick emails). John was there every day but not every hour. Although his crew spoke Portuguese to each other, the foreman understood requests in English. They worked roughly from sunrise to sunset.
The final paint color did not exactly match the sample sheet Sherwin Williams sent us. But Countryside did correctly order and pickup the Sherwin Williams color code which we requested, so the fault must have been with Sherwin Williams' coloring in getting their Sherwin Williams solid stain to match a Sherwin Williams paint color. Regardless, my wife is happy with the resulting color, which makes it okay with me even though it's not exactly what I originally picked out. (John did tell me to pick up samples and paint test spots when he gave the estimate, but I didn't have a chance to do that.)
I was nervous about getting a whole house paint job so late in the year and completing only 2 days before Hurricane Sandy, but as promised by John, the paint held up fine.

John Kearns is a true professional. Honest, hard-working, punctual and very knowledgeable about paint and stain, John was the best of the four painters we interviewed and we are very glad we hired him. His team was courteous and experienced. They did the work in a remarkably short amount of time without missing any details. They took care of our property, inside and outside. And the finished product looks amazing. John was quick to recommend stain rather than paint for our wood shingles. We think that was the right decision. He also said that our shed would look uniform with the house despite the different wood. It does. Finally, when some of the planned work was not necessary, he promptly reduced the overall estimate with no fuss and no attempt to find other items to fill in. We would gladly hire John and his team again. We recommend him without hesitation.

John Kearns and his crew did absolutely terrific work. They went beyond the letter of the contract to do a truly amazing prep job, scraping nearly all the paint off of our cedar shingles. Due to the recent rains, some of the shingles were a bit wet, and they tested using a moisture meter to ensure the shingles were in the best condition to take paint. This took a bit longer than expected, so they did other work while the shingles dried. This seemed like a great sign to us -- a less scrupulous contractor could have just gone ahead, and we wouldn't have known any better until the paint started to fail prematurely. This attention to detail and clear, timely communication was characteristic of all of their work.
We got some more rain in the middle of our painting project, and John called every evening to give us a status update on what had happened so far and when the crew would return. In the end, we are totally satisfied with the work, our house looks beautiful and I think they left the site cleaner than they found it!
We would strongly recommend Countryside to anyone.

The owner was very professional and came over the same day to give me an estimate. He and an employee completed the work that same week. My back deck is 10 years old and needed to be repainted with special exterior sealant paint. It came out great - they worked very h****** the hottest day of the year, not taking a break until the job was finished! I was very impressed with their work and would highly recommend them in the future.

John Kearns, the owner/operator of Countryside Painting is a genuine professional. In addition he is cooperative, consistent, punctual, and resourceful. After my first large contract with him in August of 2007, I have used him many times for many different projects. The quality has always been excellent and the cost reasonable. I will continue to use him into the future.
