The job was perfect, and a very good value. The roof is 3 stories up, and the section of the gutter had to be reached by a ladder that had to be carefully positioned because that section of the house is on a steep earth hill. The roofer also painted that portion of the gutter to match the rest of the gutters. Castle Slate is an excellent roofing co., and the owner,Kevin Williams is very trustworthy and treats you like a friend. Total price was only $175.00. perfect, Mr. Williams (owner) has always been overseeing the roofing work. He has a good crew and they are very knowledgeable, and you can tell that Mr. Williams is a roofing expert, and he always treats me as a friend.

Kevin and his team did a great job. He came out to estimate the job, and then mailed us a detailed written estimate. Everything looked good, and we scheduled for a few weeks later. They were on time, professional, and spent about 4 days on site. Everything looked great when they were done. Couldn't ask for anything better.

One day and they were done.

My experience with Castle Slate Roofing could best be rated as A++ from beginning to end. The Company's owner, Kevin, provided a detailed and easily understandable pricing scenario within a one week timeframe following his inspection of my various roof issues. He scheduled and completed the necessary work on a timely basis, all the while keeping me apprised of his findings and progress. The staff was hardworking and competent from start to finish and all supplies and accompanying debris were cleaned and removed on a daily basis. I was VERY IMPRESSED and would unequivocally and enthusiastically employe their services again if the need arises.

Mr. Kevin Williams, owner of Castle Slate Roofing, treated me exceptionally well. Mr. Williams put a new flat "rubber"
roof on my house in March of 2009. The project he did was the very best. It cost about $8500. a very good value.
I have been living in this house since 1948.  We never had a contractor treat us as well, and do a better job.
The extremely severe winter of 2015 did much damage to many houses around my neighborhood.  The constant
freezing and refreezing caused the pinhole lifting of a very small section of the ridge, and when it rained and the
roof was still frozen it caused the water on the roof to slightly leak into the house.  Castle Slate came right down
to break up the ice and seal the pin hole.  He did not charge for this repair and told me he would return in the fall
to seal the entire ridge.  I asked him if I should pay him now or wait for his bill.  I was amazed at the answer.
He said, "it's my roof i'm not going to charge you". I am not a relative or personal friend.

Kevin is a pro and that was evident from our first meeting. (I later learned that he is a third generation slater and both his son and grandson work him). He is very personable and strikes me as someone who conducts his business with professionalism and integrity. I first hired him for some smaller repairs - reflashing the chimney, vent pipe, and replacing a handful of slates - while I was saving up for the larger items that needed to be done. Very satisfied with the work that he and his crew did on the first project, I brought him back about 18 months later to redo all the ridges and valleys with new copper, install new apron flashing, replace all the mismatched slate, and install rubber on a flat roof. Obviously Kevin's reputation is well known and he was booked several months out so I had to wait for his services, but it was worth it. I wouldn't have another roofer touch my roof. I have every confidence in Kevin and would recommend him to anyone who wants a great job done at a fair price.

The repairs completed on time. The estimate accurate.

They were fine. In fact, there was one place he didn't get but he was very nice about coming back and taking care of it.

Kevin Williams and his crew did an excellent job and were very easy to work with.  Kevin was always on time, responded to my voicemails and helped with the slate selection process (which is a bit daunting considering all the colors and shapes available).  His crew did a great job of installing the roof and cleaning up after the job.  We are very happy with the service and will use him again in the future.

I've used Kevin and the team at Castle Slate Roofing twice this summer. They are prompt, professional, fair and do very high quality work. First they did some roof repairs. They expedited my small job because they knew rain was coming. The second time I used them was after a tenant in my rental property ripped a skylight off the hinges. Kevin and the team knew exactly what to do to seal it up so I have some time to order the new skylight without it being dangerous or water coming in. He also gave me some repair suggestions. Thank you to the team there for such great service! I highly recommend!

I thought they were fine. They took longer than expected but I don't have any problems with that. I just think they're a little bit less professional than the competition overall. They were fine but they took a long time to give me a quote on the repair work that I needed to have done. They gave me a quote without climbing the roof. It was a little bit odd. The work turned out okay.

Really very happy with everything.  The initial job was for a batch of slates on one roof, but we quickly discovered that we'd developed multiple smaller leaks in mansard roof that only became evident when weather turned bad.  Company gave all the slate roofs a checkover, and managed to efficiently find and repair all of the leaks.  They did a nice job matching the slates and the whole thing just seemed very professional and low-stress.  They scheduled us promptly, showed up when they said they would and got the job done in 2 days.  Definitely will use them again.

I have had ice dam problems for 10 yrs so i called these guys and ever since they came out i have had no problems and the service was top notch. very personable and outgoing. not only did they know their stuff but they were a straight class act. i have never seen such professionalism towards customers like these guys showed and they also took extreme pride in their work. how many roofing companies really go out of their way to ensure customer satisfaction?? not many! I HIGHLY recommend hiring the folks of Historical slate roofing for any of your roofing problems!!

Excellent work. The men were respectful and nice. They did exactly what they said they would do, and so far our attic is dry.

I could not be happier with their work and professionalism.  Not only did they give us several options to chose from in terms of repair, but were extremely honest about what they thought may or may not work well to prevent ice dams.  They were always prompt, pleasant and unbelievably attentive to the fact that they needed to keep the gates to the yard closed so that our dogs would not escape.  Best of all, their fixes worked perfectly through 2 horrible winters, in preventing ice dams.  I waited to write a review to see if we would have any ice dams and it was such a pleasure - not even one!!!  No more raking snow off the roof, no more dripping inside the house!  All they guys working were pleasant to deal with.  I would give them a rating higher than A, if it existed.

Excellent job! In addition to removing and replacing the flashing on a chimney and a vent pipe, they spot pointed and waterproofed the chimney and replaced eight broken slates. They resolved the leakage problems I had been experiencing. Things are still going fine now, almost ten months later, toward the end of a difficult winter. And all this at a price substantially lower than the other two estimates I received.

On short notice, during a break in the winter, the team arrived and completed our two roof sections in a single day, even performing an inspection of our upper roof which included some slate fixes - at no cost.
