Big Blue has done a number of projects over the past several years. In every case, it has been a great experience. Every one of the team is highly knowledgeable and professional. They are able to pinpoint problems and come up with the right solutions. They know what they are doing, and the quality of their work is first rate.

I've used these guys several times for general plumbing repairs and have always been happy. More recently, they replaced a water heater and installed a new gas furnace and central A/C. Very happy with the entire experience.

I liked them. They are good folks. It was the biggest water heater and there's 3 of them down there. I liked the fact that they checked for the warranty on the old one and made sure it was not covered by anyone. If it had been a few months earlier it would have still been in warranty. But they checked that and that was nice service. I just had to check the serial number that was on the water heater. They are always good on the cleanup. Some places are sloppy but they haven't been sloppy with their work at all. I can't complain. I sometimes get different plumbers but they do try to send out the same plumber to my house when I use them because he's familiar with the job. If I call them 6 months later they might have to send someone else out but that's because the regular one is working on another job.

At 12:00PM no one had arrived and no call received. The plumbers arrived at 1:30PM (1.5 hours later than the window provided). They didn't seem to have the info provided to the dispatcher because we had described the model we wanted installed and they had been told something entirely different. They then quoted us $250 to do an "install customer supplied disposal - no trap" and some undetermined amount more, less than $600, if a new trap was necessary. I explained this was not what was quoted and this needed to be cleared up between the plumbers and the dispatch person. In the end the work got done correctly for $220, however (1) it was completed 3.25 hours outside of the original timeframe; (2) there was no advance warning they would be late or assurance they would hadn't just forgotten us; and (3) we needed to haggle over the already agreed upon price. The plumber apologized but my impression is that the dispatcher and plumbers have no idea what the other is doing which is really inconvenient for the customer.

The call center was very responsive, pricing was transparent and fair. Plumber was knowledgeable, punctual and efficient, although just slightly impatient.

From start to finish the company was responsive, courteous and with clear communication around pricing, timing, etc.

I was going to contract with them to have the HVAC system serviced but I am moving, and so I decided not to do that. I thought that they sent over someone who was competent and explained things well and worked quickly. But I thought they were rather expensive for just a diagnostic and the amount of time that they spent.

Big Blue did an absolutely fantastic job in every way. Courteous, prompt, kept me well informed every step of the way. The work itself is very high quality. Highly recommend!

Beautiful!! We had a weird leak at the top of the heater tank that appeared like it was just a relief valve. They promptly came out, reviewed, and came up with what was really happening. While the front looked pretty much OK, and yes that valve was leaking, we removed the outer insulation blanket. Then looking behind between the heater and flue chimney, it became quite apparent more was going wrong (see pictures) The inside tank was rupturing and totally distorted the outer metal casing! So while initially it appeared that we only needed to replace the valve, Big Blue's investigation presented the real problem. Had we just replaced the valve, we would again have hot water, but probably for just a short few days or weeks and we'd be on the line to Big Blue again for another service call, asking ***? One lesson taken from this was the technician's comment that covering your water tank with more insulation to improve efficiency, can actually hold in moisture and cause this kind of "undercover" corrosion to the tank. This guy from Big Blue was great, and saved us long run $$!

I have my own tile installation business, so I have some overlap with plumbers. For 10 years now, I have very much liked working with Big Blue in Somerville, MA. Kevin is the owner, he is a wonderful guy. I met him when he was still actually doing the plumbing. Now he is the bigwig. It was a 7000 some dollar contract. We also had them do some additional work that wasn't related to the contract. We have a 1920s house and something else went wrong after we started that was not related to the kitchen, it was in the basement. They've been incredibly responsive and they've got good people. They ended the work last week. It wasn't that they were slow, it's just, that's the order that things needed to go for the job. They have been really, really good about getting somebody out as quick as they could. I've had my own tiling business for 10 years and they know me. It's fabulous. They give me like an hour and a half window and if they're not going to be there, the person who is going to come has been very good about giving a call and giving me a heads up. Their work is professional and very good quality. I've seen various plumbers in my tiling business and so I'm a little more informed than the average consumer. They only send out licensed plumbers and these guys are great. Kevin picks really, really good people and he believes in the philosophy of keeping the customer informed of what they're doing. They explain why. If there is something unusual going on or even if we need to understand, like if they put in a new valve, they will make sure to show us what the valve does. They could work on their availability, that's tough.

He wound up replacing something else that was just about to go. They are my go-to.

Big Blue was fantastic. Their guys were knowledgeable and professional, and their scheduling person was very understanding. They had to come back more than once because the dentist's office in my building was uncooperative about turning off the water for the building, and they were very understanding about the difficulty re: scheduling, which was out of my hands. I was unemployed (at that point, for over 2 years) and trying to get out to interviews, and Big Blue was very understanding about my financial situation. I believe my condo association's management company was at fault for at least one of the scheduling snafus, and Big Blue worked with them to get paid for the time they spent traveling to and from that day, instead of holding me responsible for the cost. They also gave me excellent and candid advice about the viability (or not as it happens) of replacing the main water shut offs in the unit. If they had attempted the work, there was a high possibility of damage to the pipes in the wall, given the age of the building. Since that could have resulted in a much longer and more expensive job, and my sink and toilet shut offs were in good condition, they advised against the work, even though they could have made more money.

It took several visits because Big Blue was trying to do right by me and not have to replace all the parts to save me money. But in the end, I did need to buy all new parts. I appreciated Big Blue trying to find the least expensive solution. Turns out the plumbing was not done right when my shower was first installed and there was nothing Big Blue could do about that. They are very honest and helpful.

Very pleased with the work. Kevin provided the quote and was very professional. He listened to what I wanted and provided an excellent solution. Victor did the actual plumbing work and was extremely competent. He clearly knows the plumbing business inside and out and has an outstanding work ethic in that he is invested in doing the job right. I am very impressed with this company and have used them 3 times so far.

Very professional, hard to get a hold of sometimes, they are very busy. Price was fair, no surprises or extra costs. Work done was very neat and clean.

Kevin provided insight & info re municipal branch line replacement and necessary home side work.  Always very helpful and reliable.

Punctual, professional, friendly, efficient. Vastly easier to schedule than the provider I originally scheduled through Home Depot (they were horrible).
