We used Solomon for granite kitchen counter tops. My gut told me to go with someone else and i should have listened to myself. Upon my first meeting with Shirley for an estimate she spend more time telling me how overpriced her competitors were rather than what she does. After getting the estimate and comparing to a few other places and having our cabinet guy who we found after meeting with Solomon recommend them i decided to go against my better judgement and use them. Thus began the nightmare, at the time of templating they informed us that the breakfast bar, which I know WAS included on the original estimate from plans i brought them, was not figured in and would be an additional $500. After arguing with them they flat out lied to use saying they used the plans from the cabinet company which did not include the breakfast bar. Well we know this is a lie because we had not even met with the cabinet company yet at the time of the granite estimate as i was still shopping around for all parties.Installation was quick and nothing about care or anything was explained. No precaution to my home to avoid dragging in mud and dirt was taken and they left us a huge mess. After installation the granite was staining from water and other liquids, i called the company and they assured me that i was mistaken. So i had to take pictures and send them to Shirley who then argued with me telling me it was normal. After many phone calls and arguing she drove to my house then finally agreed that the granite was not sealed. Weeks went by where we still could not use our counter because of this issue when finally they applied a different type of sealer, and spoke to us like they were doing us a favor about this. They claimed that smearing this different sealer (which retails for $70) on my counter with a rag was a $500 service they were giving us for free. We reminded them them that they provided no extra service and were just getting the job done as guaranteed in the first place. We had also had to fight with hem to come back and smooth out chips and scratches in the granite on top of caulking that keeps (still) peeling up. We are also still noticing water stains around the sink and they are doing nothing but placing blame everywhere except on themselves and threatening to stick us with a late fee if the balance is not paid. We are currently still arguing with them that we will not pay until the job is fixed. After all these headaches you would think a reputable company would offer a courtesy discount for all the hassle, but they refuse. We have been lied to, yelled at, and mistreated by this company, they are unprofessional and deliver subquality work and refuse to own up to their own mistakes. Every correspondence along the way from start to finish was like pulling teeth, they did not promptly return calls or emails, explained nothing of the next steps we would need to do and luckily after getting an estimate from their tile guy for the backsplash went with someone else to end up finding out that Solomons guy over measured by 10 sq feet, which would have forced us to over pay for material that would not have been used.

Once I selected my granite, it was delivered to Solomon's shop for fabrication. They had me go there to decide how I wanted it cut. Unfortunately, when it was time to fabricate, they realized the slab had cracks in it and they would not use it. I appreciated the honesty and that they didn't try to save time by cutting it despite the cracks in it. Since I had to select another slab, Shirley called warehouses for me checking availability of the pattern I wanted and then Gisella met me at the warehouse to help me select, and facilitate the prompt delivery of the new slab. They were both so helpful! They answered my unending questions and explained the process to me thoroughly. The installers were efficient and took their time ensuring the job was done correctly. Even when we encountered problems, they were able to resolve them. I love my new counter and would recommend Solomon to anyone!
