Unlike most contractors, John got in touch with us during the same day that I filled out my request. We worked through the project during which he worked very hard to come up with the right color cap stones so that the wall looked good. He was also accommodating when we asked that we move around caps so that all the new ones were in the same place. I would recommend him highly.

Scala Bros. Masonry did an excellent job repairing my fieldstone retaining wall and chimney rebuilt from the roof on up. Prices were reasonable and they started and finished on the day they said they would. I am planning on having them back in the fall to do more wall repair.

work area left in deplorable shape...things that were supposed to be repaired were left..worker said he didn't have time.Owner was shocked and apologetic and I felt I'd be better off fixing these things myself

We hired Scala Bros. Masonry after reading their reviews and was not disappointed. John Scala came out to meet with us twice, gave us a quote and estimated time to start and finish the job and answered any questions we had...very personable. John started the job when promised and though the weather didn't always cooperate they finished in the time period quoted. No easy task, they were rebuilding about 90' feet of an old stone wall that was continuously falling apart. Lots of excavating and rebuild custom wall by hand....the end result was awesome! They took care to not damage our fairly new driveway with equipment and cleaned up great when they were done. I would definitely hire John again. As he is fond of saying "I love to build walls".

Scala replaced/rebuilt the top of my chimney. The job was performed as quoted. The crew was very conscientious and did an excellent job cleaning up after themselves.

He repaired 2 porches and a brick foundation. He communicated with me all through the process, proposed different options and offered sound advice. I would hire him again and would recommend him to others. The projects are not yet finished so I cannot comment on the end result.

The Scala Brothers did a great job of repairing my brick front steps. John Scala gave me a fair estimate of the project and the cost to complete. What I really liked is that he was very personable and was always available to answer questions. Guy Scala did the actual work and did an excellent job. I am very satisfied with the results and would use Scala Brothers for future projects.

We hired Scala to build a 50' retaining wall. They started when they said they would and were very easy to work with. The wall looks great and the price was very reasonable. We will hire them for our next project.

They installed a paver patio and were very friendly and willing to work with us to complete the job to our satisfaction. Beautiful work.

Easy to get in contact with, and provided the lowest price. However, you get what you pay for. My wall is a bit wavy, one side juts out by a noticeable margin, and the "level" crushed stone raised bed had a 4" dip that sloped toward the house!! The shed delivery man was convinced that I did the job myself and had to put several blocks under the shed, which was embarassing and a major inconvenience, not to mention impact the structural integrity of the shed. The did the majority of the project in the rain, but that was they're call and I live with the result...

John from Scala Brothers provided excellent communication through the project from start to finish. The quality of the work and materials were outstanding. We are very happy with the finished product. The team went above and beyond which allowed us to keep the original railing as well.
