Very well, the owner was responsive to my concerns, never kept me waiting for a reply. The owner was usually present, working with a helper. Toward the end of the job, he would tell the helper what to do and leave to attend to other business. It worked out fine.

He was very concientuous and called me back quickly. He always did what he said he was going to do and honored the price estimated. The lawn looks terrific and has never looked better in 50 years. I am very pleased with this company and I would highly recommend them.

In the beginning, he wanted to charge $2,200. I couldn't?t afford that, so we eliminated stuff until we got to a price I was comfortable with. I paid $700. I was promised 2 inches of mulch, but it was maybe ½ an inch, and there wasn?t enough for the raised garden. I supplied weed block and 2 bags of top soil, which he was supposed to have supplied. I told him he needed to bring more mulch, and he said he pays his guys by the hour and that I would have to get more mulch myself. He tried to claim that he did more than we discussed, but I had a check list from his original estimate. We had scheduled for him to come out to look over everything and he didn?t show up. He arrived the next day. I also paid for him to shape my Rose of Sharon, but he never did that.  I told him I wanted Rail Road ties around raised garden, but he said he had something better - rounded cobble stones. Instead he arrived with some cement blocks, not the cobble stones he said he was going to use.  I told him I did not like them and they were ugly. He put them in anyway and didn?t care that I was not happy with it. They were also not placed deep enough in the ground.  He would not do what I wanted and would only do what he wanted.  I had a corner of orange lilies, and I told him to remove them and that I did not want them. They dug them up with roots attached, and kept them. This means he could turn around and sell those to another home and make money off of me.  He took care to make sure that they were dug up carefully and properly so that he could keep them.  He did remove 2 shrubs, do some nice edging, and trim some shrubs nicely, but otherwise there were all of these problems.

We decided not to trim rhododendron due to robins nest.
He came and did 1/5 hours of work on May 1st, but didn't show up on May 2nd or call to tell me why.  He came back on 5/3 to complete the work but only worked 1/5-2 hours.
