called them on Wednesday around noon with leaks in my front hall and living room. they said they were tied up with a few jobs but would try and make it by dark, but were unable because the jobs took too long. they came to the house the next morning at 10:00 and got up on the roof to shovel it off. after that they used calcium chloride to melt chanels through the ice dams and allow the water to leave the roof

Nir was on time for the job very responsive and knowledgeable...It took a little longer than I thought but with the rain I understood it stalled because of that. The job was a liittle bit more of what we wanted to spend even though I was quoted much lower with other contract I took the chance with Nir because of his professionalism. Nir worked with us on the project exactly the way me and wife wanted it to be. I can see us doing business with buildit2 in the future.

I called Nir Davidson and Alan Factor on the job and they came over promptly to look it over and give estimate. They scheduled me as soon as possible and started work about a week after visit.
Part of the job entailed sanding the concrete floor and was a messy, time consuming job. The crew was polite, hard working and professional. Give them high marks for effort and work ethic.
After this was cleaned up the painter came in a week later and repainted the walls.
Overall a very good experience and would not hesitate to call Nir and Alan for my next job in the spring.  They were both personable, honest, and straightforward. Alan is a sports car fan like me and we had a few interesting chats on the old days.
Highly recommend.

Sorry this report is so late.  Entered a very detailed report last Sept. 2011, but it somehow got deleted.

I called Nir Davidson regarding water leaking into my threshold in June 2011.  Both Alen & Nir came out to assess the situation.  They checked for water damage & mold to foundation and found none.  Since that was the biggest concern for Nir, I was glad that it was ruled out.  I requested a quote and at first wouldn't give me one until they determined the cause. He did let me know that he couldn't give me an exact amount until they pinpointed the exact cause, but we came to the conclusion that it was gutter related and stated he could tell me that it wouldn't be anymore than $600.  I explained that I had one other handy person that was coming out for an estimate and that I would let him know either way.  I received a quote from the other source and explained to them what we thought the issue was.  I was given a quote for $450 by them.  Although the other source was more reasonable price wise, I really liked Alan and Nir, they were both very friendly and seemed to be very honest.  I called Nir two days later and hired him for the job.  He said he would call me back once he checked his schedule.  Two days went by and no call back, so I called back and left a message regarding scheduling.  One week later, no call back.  I called again and left another message.  I waited another week still nothing.  One week later Nir calls me back and leaves a voice message requesting to come out in two days.  So heated, I decided to make him wait, realizing he didn't respect my time.  I called him back two days later and explained that I expected him to call back 3 weeks prior and explained that my project had to be postponed for a few months due to unexpected circumstances.
August came, I called Nir to schedule once again.  it took him a few days to call back and finally schedule something.  Because of his excellent reviews and great demeanor, I tolerated this behavior hoping for the best.
September 9th (Fri.) came, two men plus Alen showed up to assess once again, they determined once and for all that the way the gutter was positioned it was creating water to pour down on the threshold and leak into the wall.  So Alen confirmed that it was good news and it would not cost that much since the problem was an easy fix.  He left the site and the guys got started. They both left to get supplies and came back about an hour later.  One of the men put some stick on foam weather stripping around my sliding door, I was thinking, I could have done that.  I wanted real weather stripping, my old stripping had come off.  I could have bought that crap at the Home Depot myself, seriously? But before saying anything I wanted to wait for the end result, maybe there was more.  The same guy ended up  getting hurt on the job, cut his hand and had to leave, which now leaves one guy to do all the work. During this time he worked, ate lunch, I even ordered it for him.  He worked till about 3pm and said he be back the following day to finish.  Saturday morning, he never showed.  I called Nir to find out where he was, Nir quickly said, "he's not there? let me call you back." He called back and let me know the worker was on his way.  I told him that I had another appointment and set my morning aside for him to finish.  I was told by my fiance that he came about 12:30pm and finished by 4:30pm.
Approx. 1 1/2 weeks goes by and Nir gives me a call regarding the invoice.  He then asked me if I wanted him to tell me or wait for the invoice.  I told him he could tell me, I'm prepared.  He then tells me the cost was $1415.00.  I couldn't believe what I was hearing.  I asked for what?  He said the new gutter and the back sliding door.  He said the gutter was $1215.00 and the back door was $200.00.  I told him that he quoted me a price of no more than $600.00.  He then stated that was before he knew there had to be a new piece of gutter added, at this time he should have definitely told me there was a change in the pricing.  I told him my back door was never fixed and that the $3.00 stick on stripping was hanging off after a week and I was not paying $200.00 for that and the gutter install was not for the whole house, but only a 5" piece and a larger down spout.  Very disappointed, I hung up with him.  He called me back shortly and said he spoke with Alen and they would do me a favor and take the door off, they wanted to work with me...really?  One week later, the guy never showed to fix the door.  Nir called me back and asked me if I was pleased with the door.  I told him that his guy never showed up!! he sounded surprised after everything that I had gone through. I wasn't. Nir arranged that the guy would come out at 8am three days later.  He finally came and fixed my door.  They called it a favor fixing my door, but I felt like I had just been robbed!!  To know, I had a written quote from someone else, who charged a 1/3 less and also had great reviews, but I chose them because they seemed honest and nice.
By the way Alen was also supposed to have someone call me about a quote regarding flat screen tv in wall wiring.  Just for the record, he never called me back.  Nir also gave me a verbal quote for floor tiling for a small entrance way - $600.00 again.  I just got two floors done for $399.00 minus materials and they look great!!

"Hi Member, Thank you for the evry detailed report. The initial estimate was $600 that is correct but it was not including fixing the back door or gutters that you requested to install during the work. we did tell you that if you do open the wall to fix the leak we might find things that we could not see with the siding covering the damage and if we do find rutten wood or other problems we will charge you according to the hour of labor. We are sorry to hear that you have issues with the price but we are happy that the work is done properly and there is no more leaking."

I had worked with a contractor on a previous large remodeling project, which I was extremely happy with. Since then he had aligned his business with BuildItForU2.
The project was to replace all the trim on my house with PVC so I would never have to paint, or replace, the trim ever again. Good plan and for what my previous contractor did, a good price for that level of craftsmanship. The new company was very professional in establishing quotes and visiting my house. However, the demo team and the installation team were two different subcontractors that I don't think were used before by BuildItForU2.
The demo team cracked some of my window casings on the inside that required some maintenance. The subcontractor stated that it wasn't their doing, but the BuildItForItForU2 guy came out and made sure the problem was fixed. After the demo, the team that installed the trim scraped some of the PVC, which can be seen and may now need to be painted to cover the extensive blemishes. Most of the work was good.
My major complaint was that they should have installed unmarked materials. After numerous back-and-forths, I paid the contractor everything but a remaining $500, and that was the last contact that was made.I think I would use the contractor again based on his professionalism. However, I would make sure to meet his subcontractors to make sure they fully understood the need not to use blemished materials. If the project was to install white trim that would never need to be painted, then there should not be black streaks and other marks on portions of the trim.
I think the main contractor understood that, but the subcontractor did not. I think the BuildItForU2 was a little frustrated that he did not have full control over how the installation went because he hadn't used that subcontractor previously. The $500 was about a 5% discount, but I would rather have paid the full price and have unblemished materials used for the project.

We were a large family living in a 2-bedroom cape. We not only needed a sizable addition, but had a limited budget. (We explored a modular addition, but it wasn't feasible.) Alan was a true mentsch. He provided top notch service and quality for a very competitive price, ensured minimal disruption for our family, and went to great lengths to ensure that we were happy with the results. Alan finished the project reasonably on-time an on budget, despite some significant potential cost overruns.
On a side note, the project involved some challenging zoning issues. It was an amazing bonus that Alan was able to cantilever the addition by several feet on two sides of the home. This created space for a mudroom and significantly enhanced our living room and dining room, without sending us back for re-approval. This is just one of many examples where using a builder with 30+ years experience, makes all the difference in the world.

The deck looks very nice. The ramp did not come all the way down to the ground so we are having our regular landscapers and pavers build it up. I had drawn the deck plan and there was a little misunderstanding there but the work done was very well. The construction is very good. The job took longer than initially estimated but it was not necessarily their fault, it was unforeseen circumstance based on what the ground was like. The ground had more rocks than usual which they had to excavate by hand. They had to kind of dig around large rocks and pull them up. The price was a little more than the other estimates I got. As far as listening to what I wanted, getting the right solution and customer service, they were excellent. They were responsive and they talked to me as the process was going on. I would use them in the future if needed.

They were fine. The only problem that we had was that he couldn't come on the day that we wanted. He ended up coming on a Sunday. He did the work and cleaned up nice. The prices were very reasonable. The other guys wanted much more and they weren't as detailed as he was. The other guys did not want to look for mold and he did. I was very glad about that. He looked and he did see something. I was lucky.

Time estimates were off by 50-100% (agreed to pay by the hour). The quality of the work was below expectations. For the electrical work we had to hire a licensed electrician to repair what Fix It For U2 broke. The helper hired to paint the shed was working as if in a slow-motion movie. Very disappointing, given better past experience (2009). The bathroom floor had to be re-caulked.

Nir Davidson was our main contact on this job and was very professional and prompt during the job. All the men working in the house were very polite and professional. I could definitely trust them in my house without any worries. The bathroom is absolutely beautiful! We have a small bathroom so any mistakes would be evident in there, and there definitely are no mistakes. I must say Nir was excellent at responding to my phone calls and texts. He never failed to respond to me right away, that is unusual! They whole team they have is excellent and we would definitely use them again.

The amount spent (noted above) was for labor and materials. We purchased the majority of the fixtures, vanity, etc. totalling 3000.00.

Coordinated arrival time and arrived exactly on time. Estimated that job would take about 3 hours and it took exactly 3 hours. Workers carefully removed plants and chairs from area before working. They collected every nail from the area. Extremely professional. Carefully removed siding and cut plywood to accommodate door. Added header and studs to accommodate new door. Door installed perfectly, siding cut, resized and returned to shed. It looks as if the shed came with the door when it was manufactured. This is a 12X10 shed with windows, vinyl siding and shed doors in front, There are plants around the shed as well. There was no damage to plants or area around the shed. Workers were very skilled and careful. Also, due to my interest I asked a lot of questions during the job and the carpenter took extra time to explain what he was doing, construction techniques, etc.

They were very pleasant people who did good work. They cleaned up and were generally good. They got the job done and came when they said they were going to come. We had one minor electrical issue that we needed to have fixed and they were great to have somebody come over for a half hour job and doing that work on a Saturday morning. I asked them to quote on another project several months ago and they still have not gotten back to me so I am concerned about that. The workers and the contractor were very respectful of each other and I think that bodes well for their professionalism. I will use them again in the future.

FixItForU2 is very responsive. I sent them a request email via angieslist in the evening. They replied to me early next morning. Later in our correspondence, they usually replied to emails within several hours.

FixItForU2 came over to give us quotes on several items. Their quote on refinishing/installing hardwood floor is particularly expensive, about three times the quote we got from another contractor. So although our initial intention was for them to do the floor, we ended up having them fix the chimney leaking.

The work quality is good. No leakage so far. The work is several days later than the scheduled time, but it was not a problem for us, since we are in no hurry.

Overall experience is good.

Easy to deal with. We had some last minute changes that we knew would effect the price and were very pleased when re-quoted. Working with them to hammer out the details resulted in a design that was better than we asked for at first. From time of contact to time of final inspection was outstanding. Now we get to enjoy our new outdoor space all season. I would not hesitate to include them on a short list of contractors you get quotes from. Its now been about a month with tons of rain and heat and the deck looks great and sheds the water the way a deck should. All in all end to end we could not have been more pleased.

We paid about $4000 for the porch. He did a good job on that. He worked hard and showed up everyday. He got the job done in the time frame as he thought he would. He was flexible when he ran into problems. He told us what was going on and communicated well. The porch looks good. He did a second job for us, but we weren’t happy with that. He did a good job for us on the first one, but he didn’t do a good job on the second one. I don’t think he knew what he was doing when he installed the storm doors for us.

Nir Davidson was prompt in responding to my voicemail inquiry. He quoted me an estimated time and price for the service. I confirmed with him by e-mail. He arrived on time, worked doggedly and without break to accomplish the assembly. It looked like a nightmare with all those pieces. But at all times Nir was calm, courteous and professional. He met his deadline and indeed it cost just what he said it would. He e-mailed me the invoice and I sent a check right away. It could not have gone smoother. Nir was awesome!

We contacted Nir to perform several small tasks for our condo. He responded promptly to my email and we scheduled time to meet. He arrived on time to our first meeting and was extremely courteous and professional. He provided an estimate shortly thereafter that we felt was very reasonable. Nir was able to start work quite quickly. He again showed up on time and was extremely clean and conscientious of our condo. He completed all the work and noted a few areas where additional work was necessary. We have been very satisfied with all of his work and would hire him again for any small or large job.

Unfortunately, the problem was far larger than just removing pieces of drywall, patching, and repainting. Due to extensive water damage from insulation that had retained water inside the wall, Nir had to remove the entire wall on the first and basement levels of my home, including moldy insulation, which he did and called to let me know that was what needed to be done. He left the area very clean and put up plastic to contain the space, which was extremely helpful and made it possible to live with the situation. At that point, I had some decisions to make about more extensive repairs and I moved to using a General Contractor for that. I would highly recommend NIr for jobs that do not require a GC.
